Filled with beautiful places and nice people. Wonderful to relax and desconect from the world. I stayed at a great pousada called Fim da Trilha (that means "End of the Trail"). I was biking in the state of Paraná so I took my bike and was able to ride along some Beaches. It was great!
Hiking is also a big thing on the island because there are no streets and cars are not allowed. So you take a trail wherever you go. Pretty cool now a days!
But the trails are well kept and easy to follow, the pousadas nice, food good and the views absolutely amazing. I would go back a thousand times.

Amazing fortress! I didn't expect it is so big. Keep in mind wearing comfortable shoes to get to the top. You will find more interesting strengthening and guns from 1910 year. You will see gorgeous gulf and the ocean. Also there is an informative book shop with history maps and friendly researcher, which will provide any clarifications you need.
One thing i wish to the fortress responsible department - save the historic heritage from destruction!

This the most gorgeous place I have been in a long time... A quiet, yet amazing looking beach stretch...

Muitas coisas interessantes, do próprio prédio as cabeças de hominideos, distribuidos em três Andares. Reserve no minimo 1 hora. É grátis mas aceitam doações voluntárias de qualquer valor. A turma deixava 10 reais.

Terrible place because , first, I'm totally against zoo's, seaworld's, aquariuns, that put animals in prisions in order to enterteinment the humans. It's a poor and old thinking to show animals like this. It's million thousand better to put people on board a boat and show this animals out there, in their habitats. I recommend Abrolhos, in Bahia, Brazil, to see humpback whales, or even Argentina to see orcas and penguins. This Paranagua Aquarium is so hot that you only want to go outside as soon as possible. And don't forget you pay for enter! This is most incredible yet. It's R$20,00 (U$8.00) to see the poor and sad animals. I really cried in front of the penguins cage and sharks. Big sharks swim from side to side in a 4 meters square cage. How about to pay just R$ 15,00 to rent a snokeling equipments when you are ont the beach to see fishes, seahorses, starfishes in their natutal habitat? Your kids will apreciate and respect much more the nature for the rest of their lifes.

Pontal do Sul is amazing... calm waters, hard and also fluffy sands, a place that you can simply enjoy and relax.
You can enjoy the view of Ilha do Mel and see the ships passing to the port of Paranagua.
Pontal is my favorite beach in Brasil..... a must see also

If you are in Paranagua, regardless your religion, this is a must see place... it is so peaceful. calm... the building is there for many centuries, all made of stone.
The church altar is simple and impressive.... You can light a candle to Saint Francis and pray...
It is one of my favorite places to go when I need a calm and peaceful time... just God and I
