The bridge on the river Tara was built in 1934. In order to slow down the retreat of German troops during WWII, Partisans mined part of the bridge, which was renewed in 1950, reflecting the original bridge design.
The place is so scenic and nice. Loved visiting here on a sunday afternoon. Definitely another visit on the cards soon.

My friend and I wanted to do a kayaking trip on the Tara river, while spending our summer holidays in Montenegro. We contacted Montenegro Extreme for this trip. This was one of our best decisions in our holidays. We experienced an unforgettable day at the Tara river together with our kayaking guide Radovan. We both are rather beginners. Radovan patiently taught us the basics, but also motivated us to give our best. We had incredibly fun and learned a lot. We strongly can recommend Montenegro Extreme!

The peace and beauty provided by the nature of the Zabojsko Lake are impressive to all its visitors. It is located in the north-eastern part of Sinjajevina, at an altitude of 1.477 metres. It is the third deepest lake in Montenegro, and it is surrounded by dense coniferous and beech forest.
This is a lake at just under 5,000 feet, fed only by meltwater. There is a rough gravel road all the way up to it from the main road, really only suitable for a landrover, but we were taken up in a battered minibus. Make sure you don't go too early in the season, as we did, as you will find that the road is either covered in snow about halfway up, or inaccessible due to rockfall that hasn't yet been cleared. We walked up a path connecting the hairpin bends through the spring snow which was hardgoing. Once at the lake you can carry on across the limestone Mountains and summer meadows, going up to around 5,300 feet, but a guide is a good idea. We walked on around several Mountains, then up across the tops and along steep slopes until finally descending into the River Ravnjak valley. This was a guided walk offered by Hotel Ravnjak. At a cost of 20 € for two of us, it was excellent value. Take plenty of water; we did, but ran out long before we were able to refill with the delicious cold water of the Ravnjak river.

This black pine forest is one of the most significant and beautiful forest landscapes in Montenegro. It is located in the canyon valley of Tara River. The pine forest covers an area of 20 hectares, and the average age of its trees is around 400 years.
An amazing ancient forest with tall pines of endemic "Crna Poda" (Black Pine). It is right next to Ravnjak Hotel in the Durmitor National Park. Black Pine forest is called "the hart of Durmitor N.P." Back in the time, when it was open, prorection of Crna Poda forest was the main reason for selection of the area to be a National Park. The only analog that comes to my mind is "Giant Forest" in Sequioia National Park in USA, as it is a similar ecosystem; you can easily walk there in any direction under giant pines (50 m and higher), because the forest floor is also clean as in Sequoia Forests in California.
Do not drive through unnoticing it , as many tourists do. Park your car and walk in it even, if you are not a Forests lover. It does not take any effort to walk through it and enjoy its beauty and, after all, it is the endemic forest- meaning the only one like this left in the whole world.

This monument to the Commander of the Montenegrin Sandzak Army in WWI, Count Janko Vukotic, is the work of sculptors Svetomir and Svetozar Radovic, and is located in the very centre of Mojkovac.
Rien d exceptionnel et personne pour vous accueillir. Juste une petite eglise. Et en plus, elle est fermee à cle. Ne vaut vraiment pas le deplacement.
This memorial complex is one of the most important monuments erected to honour the fallen partisans of WWII. At the initiative of the families of the fallen in the 1960s, the Partisan Memorial Cemetery was built in Grotulja, along with a monument to fallen fighters and victims of the war.
At Bojna Njiva, which was the scene of the fiercest fighting during the Battle of Mojkovac, there is a monument erected in 1996, to mark the 80th anniversary of this Battle. Remains of trenches from the battle can still be seen near the monument.
This church is located in the village of Stitarica, and it was erected in the 19th century. The writing on the stone panel above the door of this nave building states that the church was erected by "the Municipality of Stitarica under the government of Prince Nikola I Petrovic Njegos in 1896".
