Our Mission is to preserve the past of Canada South for the education and interpretation of present and future generations. Sitting on 100 Acres, our 25000 square foot Transportation Museum showcases modes of transportation from early wooden wheel wagons all the way to the present day Viper! Our Heritage Village is a journey back in time to 15 buildings that have been placed here from all over Essex County. Our tour guides would be happy to take you back in time to learn the treasured history of our area. Our Village is open Tuesday Through Sunday May 01 - October 31st, and our Museum is open year round for tours.
The museum/village makes a nice day trip. Both tours are guided-only, which is a good thing, since you get the background of the various displays and exhibits. The museum has a fairly extensive collection of vehicles from the past, and the village old (some really old) houses and shops.
Overall, a very pleasant experience.

This is a classic mature park and the icing on the cake is... It's right on Lake Erie! A great way to spend a day. Also a great venue for Concerts, particularly the annual Kingsville Folk Festival. ENJOY!

Aleksander Estate Winery is located on the North Shore of Lake Erie, in Southwestern Ontario. Family owned and operated, we use only grapes grown in our own vineyard and region to create wines which are truly unique in character and craftsmanship. We have award winning white, red and fruit wines available. We welcome you to come and visit our tasting room at the vineyard and experience what we have to offer. Who knows, you just might discover your new favourite wine.
Aleksander Estate Winery is my favorite! The staff is friendly the service is great, and the wine is awesome! Try the chambourcin - it's the best! All of the wines are wonderful, the reds are fantastic! I visit Aleksander Estate Winery every time I'm in...MoreThank you Megan!

IF you are in this part of Ontario (one hour from Detroit Michigan and Windsor Ontario) and love Canada Geese and can spare the time visiting Jack Miner's world famous (established in 1904) Bird Sanctuary is a do-not-miss experience. Timing IS everything. The true prime time to visit is during the active migration season of the Canada Geese which is early Spring and late Autumn. The museum is very interesting as is the renovated Jack Miner home. There are Canada Geese who live the year around at the sanctuary and you can mix and mingle with them and feed them corn which is provided. The geese will come up to you and take the corn from your hand. There are other sights to visit nearby as well. I love the venue.

My friend and I were wine tasting in the area and stopped in at black bear not realizing it specialized in fruit wine. We had previously gone to a fruit winery in niagara and did not like a single thing they offered... We decided to try a few things at black bear and were surprised we liked everything we tried! They had some not so sweet things for my palette and some very sweet wines my friend enjoyed. Prices are very reasonable as well. The owner Bill was very friendly, knowledgeable and gave us a great experience. It is a must try on the wine route!!

A fine art supply store and artists' showroom. The Store carries M. Graham & Co. full lines of oil, acrylic & watercolour paints as well as a nice selection of all other art essentials. The Showroom displays artwork from several featured artists. All artwork is available for sale and styles include illustration, painting, photography, graffiti and sculpture. Makeup Artist services also available.
The service is fantastic. They go overboard to satisfy your needs. If they don't have what you want they get it for you...

Take a late October afternoon, a camera, binoculars and a canoe and you can discover one of Essex County's most remarkable little secrets - Cedar Creek and its adjoining Essex Regional Conservation Authority (ERCA) conservation areas. This is a place to enjoy peace and quiet and to learn of the local history (Village of Arner) and the joys of nature just e=before winter cloaks this slow moving river in ice. Local ElderCollege apparently offers guided canoeing courses for novice canoeists and lovers of wildlife. both in Spring and Autumn. Heaven can be just around the next river bend if you know where to look!

The Kingsville Historical Park Museum, a museum with a large collection of military artifacts from all periods of Canadian history. The museum also features many items from the local area, like the town of Kingsville's 1860 Range Light. With well over 11, 000 items in the collection there are many items to see and stories to hear. Access to the museum is provided via the Royal Canadian Legion driveway and parking is available in the Legion parking lot which the museum shares.
An amazing small museum with a well displayed series of accounts and artifacts all pertaining to the military history of the people of the Kingsville area. A super collection of memorabilia, uniforms and military hardware. The manager is charming and most helpful. But, she desperately needs help--both financially and volunteers. Try to find anybody, for example who could elaborate on the role of the Essex Scottish. Lots of memories but not many people apparently willing to extend the experience to formal talks or discussions of military history. Pity!
