Went in for a light breakfast...but then realized we'd slept longer than we thought, so lunch it was! I ordered a toasted Western Sandwich, which came piping hot and loaded with chopped ham and onions. My hubby ordered the hot Turkey. I have to say I did snatch a bit of Turkey off his plate. The Turkey is real and in-house roasted. Not that strange mystery meat that some restaurants served and claim as being Turkey. The gravy was hot and so were the mashed potatoes. My only observation was that while the gravy was hot, the Turkey was not....it was room temp at best. I was taught by my chef mother, that you take some gravy and heat it up in a small pan, and when it comes to temp, you add the Turkey and heat it through. You never serve a 'hot' sammie, tepid...EVER. The carrots were a little over-cooked but some people like them that way. All in all, a pleasant experience with wholesome, regular food served by a lovely waitress who had a genuine sense of humour and graciousness. I'm going back....they have broasted chicken that I must try! Also, at the cash register, they have a small fridge with in-house made tzatziki for $2.50!! Wow...I'll have to buy a tub of that next time!

Kingsville, Ontario's premier luxury boutique style bed & breakfast accommodations & Gastropub restaurant.
If your gonna call youself a "gastropub" you better deliver. Jack's HAS delivered since the day they opened their doors and turned on the taps! Jack's never ceases to amaze me with the quality of their ingredients, the food prep and cooking methods, the local selections of beers and wines, and the level of service. If you are a group of 6 or more, call ahead so you don't show up and not get a table. I have been a serious pub and gastropub patron for 35 years, and I still put Jack's as one of my top-5 gastropubs of all time! I'm glad I have to make any effort to drive to Jack's, because if I lived close I would weigh a lot more than I do. Well done one and all!

can't honestly say their croque monseiur is the best in the world, because I still have a few to try, but as I came from England to eat it, it must come pretty close

Located in Kingsville's historic train station, Mettawas Station provides a relaxed atmosphere with its historic charm, to dine or just enjoy a cocktail. With the Canada Chrysler Greenway passing next to the building, trail enthusiasts can stop enroute and enjoy a bite to eat. Executive Chef Anthony uses local seasonal ingredients in his menu which is filled with appetizers, pastas, steaks, seafood and much more. All menu items are prepared with and Italian Mediterranean flare. Pair the food with a local wine from our list, a cold craft beer or a tasty cocktail and you will have a pleased palate. Don't forget to save room for dessert as well and a cappuccino or espresso! We look froward to seeing you soon!
Hubby and I find Mettawas one of our fav restaurants since we moved to Kingsville. I had the Lobster Ravioli with extra garlic in the sauce and my husband had the salmon. Both were excellent! Washed down with a bottle of sparkling wine. The beginner soups are always the best. So good. Service was prompt and excellent as well even with being a crazy Friday nite. Everything on the menu is very good - the personal pizzas are amazing as well. Would recommend this restaurant to anyone.

To celebrate our 43rd wedding anniversary we decided to go out for a nice dinner. We live in Europe but have a second home in the area. Our first choice would have been Annabelle`s, but unfortunately they stopped serving dinners a couple of years ago. We had tried some other restaurants in the area in previous years but have never been completely satisfied (including the two top rated places in Kingsville). Our neighbours had raved about the Main Grill which is just opposite O'Sarracino. But who wants to spend a special occasion in a beer bar with a TV on the wall and pub food?
So we thought O'Sarracino might be the right place to enjoy a great meal. It is nice to sit there though it is not overwhelming (like Annabelle's). We did not have to wait long to be seated. And we had the chance to choose a table from where we could look outside to the street, which we enjoyed. The restaurant was nearly half full and there were three waitresses available for the service. The time until the menus were brought and we were able to place our order was appropriate. We ordered the arancini rice balls and the soup special made of roasted peppers as a first course. For the main course we decided to have rainbow trout and saltimbocca with an additional piece of meat ($4 extra). The arancini were served pretty soon. They were very good. As they are a little bit pricy we would suggest sharing them between two people. We shared one of the three rice ball between the two of us. And even that was enough. We appreciated that without asking we were offered to have the leftovers packed to take home.
The soup was served 20 (twenty!!!) minutes later. That is unacceptable for a special of the day. The taste of the soup was nothing special. More tomatoes than peppers. It would have been quite easy to add a little special taste by adding some smoked paprika spice for example.
There was another long break until the main course was served. My wife had asked to have a double portion of veggies instead of the mashed potato. When the waitress brought her fish she complained that they had evidently forgotten about the double serving of veggies. There were only eight green beans on her plate. I had to defend the waitress because my single serving only had four green beans. The waitress voluntarily offered to bring us some more green beans at no extra charge. That was ok. The rainbow trout was delicious. The saltimbocca was ok but I have had better sauces before. It was served with mashed potatoes which were definitely above average and better than in most restaurants I know.
We had to spend 100 minutes for two courses in a restaurant that was only half full. We just were probably just unlucky because we could see that people who arrived after us were served faster.
One improvement suggestion: it would be better if the specials of the day including prices were posted on a blackboard or whiteboard instead of just being mentioned verbally by the waitress.
In Europe I would only give this place 2-3 stars. But in Kingsville I feel it would not be justified to punish O'Sarracino, which has a more creative choice of dishes compared to places that just offer burgers, steaks or battered perch with fries and get 5 stars because of their brownies.

The outside appearance of this restaurant nearly crushed my appetite. Were it not for two neon "OPEN" signs, I would have thought it had gone out of business. The interior looked better. The service and value were very good, as was the sushi. Other items on the menu were hit and miss.
The Miso and Udon soups were flavorless. The Deep Fried Scallops were actually Kamaboko (imitation). The "Peanut Sauce" tasted peanut-free. The Yakitori did not seem to be grilled; it seemed to be fried.
The Gyoza was excellent! The Sushi was delicate; and, it was freshly prepared with perfect rice!
Sake Sushi is a perfect candidate for Food Network's show "Restaurant : Impossible". Chef Robert Irvine would give this place an extreme makeover.

For the third Canadian Thanksgiving in succession we chose a full Thanksgiving feast at Kingsville's Golf and Country Club Dining Room. Seated overlooking the golf course--there are trees and green grass so assume trees exist for golfers to hit. General Manager greeted us at the door and we were promptly seated. Service was excellent as always. Hot rolls followed by Turkey soup or Caesar's salad (not a Roman in the room). And, from a respectable wine list, a lovely bottle of Sauvignon blanc. Thereafter, a plentiful and robust Thanksgiving dinner of well prepared Turkey, dressing, plenty of cranberry sauce, mixed and perfectly prepared veggies, potatoes, sweet potatoes, a tad of gravy and then a delicious piece of pumpkin pie. Such a meal would have made my Mother proud.

New owners, Jeff Wiper and Melissa Nauss, opened Calabria April 15, 2016 after owning and operating The Galley Restaurant in Chester, Nova Scotia for 4 years. Calabria offers up fresh ocean and lake seafood, and phenomenal pastas. Take a look at our website for the current menu. Dine-in and Takeout service is available.
We are happiest when we receive value for our money. We selected fresh haddock fish in a light beer batter with fries, home made tarter sauce, and coleslaw for our evening meal. A Keith's India Draft beer and a Peele Island Chardonnay completed our first visit to the Calabria. Owners Melissa and Jeff Wiper will definitely see us again. Friends recommended this restaurant to us and we can now happily recommend it to you. .... : ))))

The meal was excellent, however, it took took long to be served. I had the daily special, tuna with scallops and shrimp....magnificent...just wish the service was a bit quicker. This is a wonderful place to eat, but recommend to go only if you are not in a hurry. The crowds are plentiful, so don't forget to make a reservation. While the service is good, it's slow.

Had dinner here with a large group for a birthday celebration. The food is excellent and reasonable. Joe Colasanti himself visited with everyone. After the meal we strolled around this wonderful place and took in all the sights. We even purchased some plants for Christmas Gifts. Don't miss this place, its well worth the visit.
