The park is suitable for both: admirers of active and calm recreation. There are children Playgrounds for all age groups, road for roller skating and pedestrian roads, cafes, parking lot and toilets in the park. The park is opened all year round. In winter park is an excellent place for distant skiing on a lighted trail. The access is very convenient; there is a parking place for 200 cars at the park. In 2010 a panoramic tower was opened here. The tower is 33, 5 m high and it reveals unforgettable view of Jurmala. The tower has 12 balconies on different levels so everyone can choose the height.

There are several walks and cycle tracks through Kemeri National Park, and a good website that describes them all. We chose the Great Kemeri Bog boardwalk. It really is a fascinating trail, surrounded by black pools, carpets of moss, miniature pine trees and long views across the bog. The boardwalk is very well maintained and easy to negotiate and, of course, completely flat, so most people can probably tackle the 3.5 km circuit though there is a shorter 1.5 km variant. This bog walk is only about an hour away from Riga, and is warmly recommended to anyone needing a rest from the bustle of the city.

Went there in late August 2017, and was really impressed by everything I saw. From the crystal clear water to the friendly store owners to the gorgeous houses nearby, Jurmala is blessed with natural and architectural beauty. Can I also add how, even if the beach was filled wth tourists (Most of them Russians and Germans), I could not see any trash or unruly behavior? Beaches on the mediterranean better need to step up their game.

Water amusement park "Livu Akvaparks" is the biggest multifunctional water park in Northeastern Europe and operates all year round. During summer additional options are available - sunbathing Terrace, open air pool, Kamikaze and Freestyle Mountains, as well as unique 350 sq.m. Fountain park with different water labyrinths, cascades and games.
It is fantastic place. We were family with 2 kids and spend here more than 6 hours. Spa very nice and cocktail bar is comfortable. I recommend this place, it is the best in Baltic countries!

Thus viewing tower is TALL and as you can see down through the steps and floors as they are made of metal rings, you can look down - which isn't so great for people like me who have vertigo as I found coming back down. Nonetheless it is worth the effort of hauling yourself to the top for a view over the canopy of the forest to the beach and over Jurmala itself. It's in the forest park and admission is free.

The most photographed object in Jurmala. Turtle sculpture symbolises long prosperity. Sculptor - J. Barda, 1995
I know - it is just a turtle! But we visited with our kids and spent a happy few minutes playing around it. The turtle is a striking design and stands looking over the beach towards the sea. So it makes a perfect icon for a stylish beach resort town like Jurmala.

This is THE street to walk on in Jurmala. Everything you could possibly want is on this street - shops, restaurants, cafes, bars, a casino..
Lots of places were closed mid-week when I was there in September. During the summer, I'm sure everything is open and it is incredibly busy. Access to hotels is on this street as well.
Unless you plan on looking at the houses around the town, this is your one-stop shop for Jurmala. And it conveniently starts at the Majori train station!

The best forest in Latvia! Clean and beautiful. Right next to Lielupe beach full of sand dunes and all types of birds. Wonderful walk to the mouth of the river Daugava. Wooden staircase leading to fishing museum. Ideal for hiking and running.

Walking to the beach, we passed the building that houses this 'Inner Light' exhibit. Something to stop and experience for 15-20 minutes in that there is a gallery of paintings that change in appearance when shown in regular light and then ultraviolet light. Enjoyed it!

Dubulti is relatively small place and if you are out for sightseeing, there are not too many things to see either. This church if one of the things to see, but there are similar ones in not too distant proximity and they could be counted in hundreds.
