You dont need to be very fit to climb the small hill and reach magnificent fortress from the 13th century. During climbing you become aware how huge complex this was long time ago. You can visit a chamber where once queen Elizabeta Kotromanic was kept - more known as mother of famous queen (in Poland known as king) Jadviga. According to the legend her older daughter Marija was saved but the queen Elizabeta was killed and thrown to the river of Zrmanja.
Being there you must feel special - from the fortress you can enjoy the view of the amazing sunsets in Novigrad. Also you should be aware that till beginning of 19 th century Novigrad was more like an island there was no road to reach it you could reach it only via boat - it used to be isolated pearl of Dalmatia.
You can also see on the first level the well which was found out recently.
Climbing the stairs you can notice holes in which once cannon balls were - which are at the moment kept in the museum of Novigrad.
Definately a must visit - either just for romantic sunset, amazing history or view.

Due to its unique natural features, magnificent Forests and extraordinary geomorphologic structures, the area of Velika and Mala Paklenica was proclaimed a national park in 1949. The main reason for proclaiming this area a national park was the protection of the largest and best preserved forest complex in the territory of Dalmatia, which was threatened by overexploitation. The Paklenica National Park stretches on the area of 95 km2 , on the littoral slope of South Velebit under the zone of highest mountain peaks Vaganski vrh (1752) and Sveto brdo (1753).
Amazing nature and definitely a climbers haven. Went with the family and climbing friends. Family went hiking and enjoying wonderful nature and scenery while I was climbing with friends.

We went in a rafting experience, organised by Camping Village Micanovi Dvori. We had a fabulous time and our two children (7 & 5), had so much fun. The skipper and other staff members were extremely professional and well skilled. It wasn't that 'wild', but...MoreWe are happy to make your day and time spent with us worth comments like this. Thank you :)

My family and friends - total of 11 - 5 adults and 6 kids age range 3-17 - spent Orthodox Easter this year at this beautiful place! Three days of fun, relaxation and peace of mind! We've rented two conjoined little house lux apartments (we got excellent offer for that weekend) with a little yard and brick BBQs! Houses were beautifuly furnished, with all modern apliancies, big living-room and two bedrooms upstairs. Of course, we did not spend much time there, since all of our kids wanted to go to the indoor aqua-park straight away! It was my first time there, so I thought it would be boring to spend more than two hours there, but I was amazed with the grandness of that Winter Riviera! There are so many attractions inside for all of us...shallow, very warm and safe pool for the youngest one, slides and wave pool for older ones, lazy river and jacuzzis and massage pools for us adults...and many things more! And the water is warm (in jacuzzis superwarm) everywhere you go! Medicinal thermal water! And you can also go to the outside pool either by a slide, or you can just swim out. It was cool thing to do in April! We enjoyed every second of it! We also got the time to go to Lake Bled for their famous "Blejske kremne rezine"(Cremeschnitte) and to Ljubljana for a cup of coffee and a burger! Happy days! We plan to go there in September again, to check out the Summer Riviera with outside aqua-park, and to see the famous Indian Village and Pirates Bay! Hope we'll get lucky with the weather! I would totally recommend it for a great weekend, and even for a 10 day vacation! The staff which is almost invisible, but always there, was great too! As a conclusion, I give it both thumbs up , but "just" four stars ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️, so that they wouldn't "get too cocky" ❤️

The etnographic museum is placed in 2 buildings, very close to the church of st Mary.
Entrance is 10HRK (around 1 euro) which is quite simbolic. You can visit it during the week (from monday to friday) either in the morning from 9- 13h or in the afternoon18-20h.
In the first building you enter typical Novigrad household which is 400 years old. On the left from the entrance you enter the kitchen with all the tools which have been used there - from huge pots to the small iron. In the kitchen there is also placed a chair where the oldest woman from the family was sitting throughout the day - since all the brothers with their families were living in one house their mother used to watch over their wives and in the afternoon giving them 'life lessons'. In a room next to it you can see everything the house typicaly had from the tools for the agriculture to the wine production and fishing. Throughout the house you can see many photos where you can follow the life of Novigrad people throughout last 120 years.
Upstairs there is a sleeping room where you can see traditional costumes of Novigrad and typical arrangment of sleeping/living room.
After exploring amazing first house you go to the second part of museum which is placed on the grounds of early christian church - here you can experience through travel throughout the history - from the stones marking the border of roman province, old tombs of people, cannon balls found in the fortress and in the sea during many times people tried to occupy Novigrad, symbolic bell from the plague times, marking stones from napoleon times etc.
This place is a must visit it will not tell you only the story about the history you will experiance it on your on skin.

The main reason of starting our own business was love for sports especially passion for outdoor sports. Both of us were former athletes and personalities that did not like office jobs (prime reason to start our own business). Frane and I (Katarina) wanted to reconsider and reinvent community we lived in. Then we discovered rock climbing through our friend. Even though so many tourists came to Paklenica just for climbing only few locals (including us) understood them, their need or better call it crave to climb. Climbing was not a sport which belonged to our local culture or tradition. Alpinism and climbing was brought to us by others in late 30's, and since then only "others" had guts and love to explore beautiful rocks and serene nature of NP Paklenica. But we changed these facts in 2010 when we opened our service shop for climbers. Paklenica Avanturist ltd. wanted to change local attitude and local people mindset towards climbing, to offer some local service to foreign climbers in our destination and that is basically what we continued doing by now. As a small team of local climbers and hikers we love to hang out with people who enjoy nature and rocks, and we love hosting them.
Great fun trying rock climbing in these staggering surroundings. Not cheap, at 1200kn for 4 of us, but good fun nonetheless. Not much instruction per se, but maybe not much necessary as we all did ok and had fun. Kids in particular loved the freedom of scuttling up, with the safety of full harness and burly instructor to reassure even the most nervous of parents. Take water and snacks.

Рассматривать Его можно долго и бесконечно! Очень необычная архитектура со своей изюминкой, и в то-же время стиль архитектуры древности сохранен. Ощущение жизни и радости и умиротворения со спокойствием посетило Нас.
