The Rockhal is also a Music & Resources Centre, comprising no fewer than six rehearsal rooms, a recording studio, a dance studio and a documentation centre. I had to think quite a bit before giving this one 3 out of 5, but in the end this is what it boils down to for me (we tried two of the three rooms and so can resonably eliminate the 'it was just a bad day for them factor'); the positive: the rooms are absolutely beautiful, probably among the best designed rooms that we've tried; attention to detail is amazing and the atmosphere is quite immersive; riddles too are well designed and quite witty in their conception; we had a lot of fun solving them; now the bad: both times the supervisors messed up in a significant way: first time they had prepared a riddle in another language and only noticed after we got stuck for 10 minutes, entering the room and completely ruining the atmosphere; second time they told us that certain elements were not part of the game, when in the end it was revealed that they were. Also, they gave us clues about a riddle that we had already resolved (both resulting in serious time losses - in the end they did not add additional time and chased us out just as 1h had lapsed); finally pacing: We are experienced escapers and are used to do runs at just the two of us, never with any trouble escaping in time. Enigmo are not paced for a two man team (despite pretending to be suitable) and are more of a 70-75 minute experience (first time we managed just in time, second time probs 10 minutes behind), which does lead to frustration, especially when they enter the room after 60 minutes and almost chase you out (both times they were not very friendly, despite having messed up both of them); this is all very sad, since the rooms themselves, as explained, are really quite good and with a little better pacing and professional staff would easily keep me going back for new rooms; as it stands, however I will not be going back to this place, since it left us underwhelmed both times we tried them.

Parc Merveilleux

Reviewed By Somewhere_in_the_UK - Somewhere in the UK

Visited in July with 3 young children. The park offers a number of attractions: small zoo, various small rides and several large play areas. The play areas were the best we've come across yet. The main play area next to the restaurant is sandy based with lots of climbing frames and slides. There is also a brilliant water play area tucked just around the corner. Proceed a bit further into the park and there's another couple of play areas in the forest with further climbing frames and slides.
We left with some very tired and happy little children.
Restaurant leaves a bit to be desired with microwave reheated burgers being offered up after queuing for some time.

Parc Animalier Escher Deierepark

Reviewed By Travelcrow - Woodstock, Vermont

We were staying with our daughter in law in Esch and learned that she takes a wonderful walk up into the park each day. We went with her and found many of the trails quite beautiful and also some were pretty steep. Initially the hillside is terraced with nice landscaped picnic areas, walkways, stone walls and flowers. As you go higher you pass many private Gardens along the park edge. These Gardens include makeshift Cabanas, outdoor grills, etc. We saw folks from the village enjoying working in these Gardens. Then as you climb higher, the landscaping gives way to more rustic dirt trails and eventually you arrive at the deer park with numerous enclosures and a variety of wildlife. Lots of families were there having arrived by car rather than walking up. There is a sort of café there as well. Food is available for feeding the animals. We walked down the car access road to get back down to Esch. Passed a large soccer stadium also.

Was very excited to visit here after Reading about this online. However didn’t even realise I was at the Corniche when actually there. It doesn’t stand out as a balcony yet just a high up street. The views are nice from here but no different from when in the caves. You can’t really avoid the Corniche when visiting Luxembourg as it’s such a small city.
