We took a half day trip with Vu and we thoroughly enjoyed our time with him. He was extremely knowledgeable about his country and was open to any questions we had for him. His English was fantastic and he was able to explain the conflict very clearly. I would definitely recommend taking a half day or even a full day tour with Vu.

We visited these tunnels with our guide, Mr. Vu, through Annam tours. These tunnels were bigger than the Cu Chi tunnels, but obviously served a different purpose. These tunnels were made by hand by the farming villagers. It was shocking to learn that a village of about 350 lives in these little holes for 5 years. The tunnels are well kept, less tourists than at Cu Chi so you can take your time. Some of the tunnels lead out onto a cliff by the ocean so you can feel a slight breeze while walking inside. If you are doing a tour of the DMZ, visit the tunnels while you’re at it, they will help you understand the devastation of war.

My daughter, son-in-law and I had a great one-day DMZ tour in December, 2017.I had a terrific tour with Mr. Duy in September 2016 with a group of U.S. Marine veterans of the war, so I was disappointed that when we got to Dong Ha we learned that Mr. Duy was in the hospital and could not lead our tour. However, his colleague Ms. Thach did a wonderful job and we had a great time with her. She is fluent in English, very knowledgeable of the history and sites of the war, and has a warm and engaging personality. Whether your guide is Mr. Duy or Ms. Thach, I recommend this tour enthusiastically and without reservation.

We booked this tour package based on the reviews. We did the two day tour and started at Dong Ha to ensure we covered off everything we wanted to see, especially after Reading about the long travelling time from Hue. Our guide for the tour was Mr Hoa and he was fantastic, from the moment he picked us up from the train until he dropped us at Hue the next day. His knowledge of the past was unbelievable and he would occasionally question us on what he had told us which ensured we were retaining as much as possible. This tour to us was above an excellent review, the accommodation brought the rating down, the room was basic which is fine, but there was dirty towels and blanket which we had to get them to change also meals were a bit on the high side compared to other places we stayed at. This was a shame because the package they have is great and this was what brought the review down to an Above Average. BUT if you want a great tour of the DMZ with all the knowledge then this is the one to do.

Located in Dong Ha City, Quang Tri Province, Vietnam with easy access for tourist buses, the Center serves as an ideal quick-stop for international and national DMZ visitors to refresh before continuing their journey to former areas of operations and other historic relics in Quang Tri province. Visitors to the Center will view exhibits, documentaries, images, and facts and figures that depict the fierceness of the war and its devastating impact on the land and people of Quang Tri. Tourists and students, veterans delegations and others will learn about efforts of government authorities, local residents, and international organizations to address the Explosive Remnants of War or ERW problem since the war ended. Visitors will also be provided opportunities to contribute to mine action activities that help the people and the land of Quang Tri continue on their path of recovery, after enduring many years of pain and loss from the war. The Center is open from 08:00 a.M. To 05:00 p.M. On weekdays, on weekend days, please contact in advance for visit arrangement. No admission fees will be charged.
I have a military background and recommend this visit. Of course it is told from the Vietnamese viewpoint, however it does not diminish the impact of how humans treat each other.
I understand the locals would use unexploded ordinance for fishing or farm work, often resulting in death or terrible injuries. One of my guides friends heads a local team of 5 in a program to pay the Farmers for the explosives they find, thus reducing the injury toll.

During the war we used to fly to this beach in Huey helicopters, land, and swim in the ocean at this remote, undeveloped white sand beach. Today it is still possible to have a serene, swim and walk along this wonderful stretch of beach which is not crowded. Often you may be the only folks in sight if you walk a ways north of the modern day concession area. Try it out!
