I stopped skiing few years ago, but we enjoyed walking up Kubinska Hola, the views are nice from there. Good steep hike up the hill! Free parking, well signposted so easy to find, good place to start walking from.

Beautiful, photogenic castle visible from faraway. Absolutely best attraction of Orava region. Visit in winter takes 1,5h and during main season can take more than 2 hours. With or without kids, nice place. In the winter take warm clothes as inside can be more cold than outside :-)

It is located in nature reservation Rozsutce and the valley river is forming numerous Waterfalls and rocky formations. The hiking in this valley is possible via imposant wooden Bridges and ladders.

Nice trip for whole family. Anybody from 3 till .., Just really not for very small kinds and elderly, handicaped - you have to climbed some large stones. Nice views from hills above the place. Facilities as parking, restaurants, bistro all there. Nature wonderful.

Enjoyed this Water Park. We stayed at Pension Fontana one night and didn't even know there was a Water Park in the town when we booked. The best thing in there is Bubilina. Warning though. Do not scan your Braclet to go on Bubilina it's free the same as the slides. The scanner is for fast pass and cost 3 euro. The entrance is just to the left. There is a ten minute timer above your head which counts down and then the doors automatically open. We speak from experience we scanned our passes thinking it was the entrance and then others started queuing behind the normal entrance and paid nothing. When having lunch some Spanish speakers did the same so I'm guessing this is common.
We spent 4 hours here and did everything. Went on Bubilina a few times cos it's just great fun. I'll miss it!
The Water Park and thermal Park are the same. The Water Park is all inside except for Bubilina and the lazy river. Plus a couple slides by the diving pool.

Vratna dolina "Vratna valley" (vratna means that you will come back) is located in national park Mala Fatra closed to village Terchova. Terchova is known with its folk Terchovska muzika ( from 2013 in UNESCO). There are a lot of opportunities for walking, hiking, cycling, relaxing, .... You can use Cableway on the top, from where is fantastic view. It is suitable for family with children, but also for more exating people. You can choose light walking or hard "expedition".

A delightful Gallery, in a modern (1960's) building, very well put together and some fantastic works of art by Slovakian artists from masters to current day modern art and installations.
The religious paintings on wood are very nice, and there are some lovely paintings by local artists also. A must see of you are nearby, or as it just off the main highway a short detour is in order for any art lovers. Fantastic!

Facile da vedere lungo la strada statale, proprio all'altezza della deviazione ed in prossimità delle indicazioni per la wooden church. Sembra quasi una chiesa ma è un maniero in stile barocco comunque particolare da vedere. merita una berve sosta.. e dall'altro lato della strada c'è un monumento.

Очень познавательно рассказывает управляющий плотом (сплавщик?), их там по сути двое - один спереди по совместительству гид, другой сзади. Нашего гида звали Мартин, очень приятный парень. Хорошо и красочно на английском рассказывал про историю сплавов до Дуная и далее до Чёрного моря. С юмором, пикантериями и т.д. Постараюсь с ним фотку поместить.Обратно дают тремп вернуть машину к конечной точке. Орава не такая раскрученная как Дунаец, и наверное поэтому всё было мило и превзошло ожидания.
А увертюрой сплава был замок - его увидели во всей красе с реки, почти со всех ракурсов.
