Finnish Air Force Museum shows Finnish aviation history from its beginning, 1918 to the present days. The Main exhibition consists of aircraft, engines and aircrew equipment which has been used by the Finnish Air Force. The equipment of Air Force Signals Museum has its own section. A large collection of scale models gives a wider perspective to the whole field of aviation.
Finnish airforce museum has really nice planes and fighter planes in its collection. It gives you a nice overview on the history of Finlands military aviation.
I personally enjoyed the most to see Mig-21 and Saab Draken - fighters, former cornestone jets of the finnish airforce. There is also older planes to see, like Messerschmitt Bf 109 and shotdown Brewster (until 2018).
Museum also has a nice cafe and small souveniershop. Highly recommended, if your into aviation at all.

This museum offered more than I was expecting. Not only does it show Alvar's talents in architecture, but also the talents that influence interior design. There are photos, original drawings, scale reconstructions, jewellery and his paintings. He and his wives really have been an influence not only in Finland. The museum does not only showcase his achievements in design, but also give an insight into the man himself.

Though we're not really of the right religion… but this place is so authentic that you can't help but FEEL the history and lives of the people of this region throughout the last few centuries. The ancient wood works are awesome. A great place to visit – just a very short distance from the main road, and yet another world.

The museum is a specialized museum for handicraft covering entire Finland, a place where skills and people meet as well as an interesting destination for visitors.
Often interesting exhibions for all who are interested in crafts. Downstairs a compact introduction to the history of Finnish crafts. In summer artists at work at the street in front of the museum. Sometimes workshops, handicraft events, Christmas markets etc. - a place worth keeping your eye on while visiting Jyväskylä. Fridays are free (at least in winter time).
The museum has a shop corner with interesting crafts and Aivia, the handicraft shop next to the museum, is also good.

This is a one of a kind playground! It has all types of places and possibilities for all age groups. It is very large and very close to the city center. So if you visit the city and want some special place where you can relax and where your kids would have lots of fun, here is your top choice! My son enjoyed it and so did all the kids I saw there. There are so many outdoor toys offered by the administration of the playground: cars, bikes, sand toys.... you name it!

Art museum of Jyväskylä really has it all: it is in the center of the town, prices are low (on fridays free entrance) and it has the best selection of art cards of Jyväskylä.Every time I go there, it´s almost like going to home. The atmosphere is cozy and friendly, staff is always smiling and service is really professional. I always recommend this place to everyone who is planning a trip to Jyväskylä.

I visited Leivonmäki National Park in June, and I really liked this place. It was beautiful with its very Finnish lake and forest views. It's easy to find, there are several parking lots and hiking trails. We only had time for a short hike this time, and we chose to park by a small beach in Hiekkaniemi. There was a hilly trail, which was easy to walk but good for training as well. I loved walking in the middle of the forest and seeing lake water both left and right and I am looking forward to getting back here and enjoying other longer trails next year, when visiting Joutsa again (fingers crossed).
