Being part of the English Garden of the Reggia Caserta (The Caserta Royal Palace) the Bagno di Venere is just another surprising detail. For us it was like discovering a corner of the Paradise. Since one is arriving on the hill top and is entering the English Garden, the Bagno di Venere should not be missed.

Belvedere di San Leucio

Reviewed By pakabay - Adelaide, Australia

We had a recommendation to visit the Royal Silk Factory when an Italian friend heard that we would be visiting Castera and I'm glad that they did. Also known as "Real Belvedere Di San Leucio" (on the museum receipt) it is situated on the outskirts of Caserta with a magnificant view of Caserta & the Royal Palace.
I won't go into the history, you can find that in Wikipedia, we visited on a week day in spring and other than a school group, we were about the only visitors. It was even slightly difficult to even find the bus that went there (in front of the Caserta train station, €1) which is quite amazing for a site on the UNESCO World Heritage register. We did a tour without a guide as there wasn't an english speaking guide available, but we had to be accompanied, so a delightful gentleman took us around, inside and out, for an hour, and it cost two of us €6! If there was a guide available that would have been an additional €15, but we got by.
An amazing place for so many reasons. If you are in the area, just do it!

Ponti della Valle - Acquedotto Carolino

Reviewed By John C - Ottawa, Canada

Very imposing and impressive structure, not well known in the expat community. At the base on the east side, there is some parking next to what I think is a monument commemorating the struggles associated with unification (but not sure).
From this location you will be able to assess the scale of the design as you can climb into some of the arches closest to the ground.
On the west side there is a local switch-back road that will lead you to the entrance to the top of the aqueduct. If you have a small car (A or B class) you can drive off the main road right up to the gate. There is a small olive grove where people have parked their cars and turned around. May be private property so be careful.
The gate is normally opened and you can freely walk across the span. We did not as we had some items in the car that we did not want to leave.
Great views of the valley in both direction from the to of the span. This is now on our list of sites to take visitors.
