Tehidy Woods is a lovely place for a walk at any time of year BUT at certain times of year - usually during the school holidays you are in for an extra special treat. Rogue Theatre put on their magical woodland plays within the trees and it really is not to be missed. Tickets can be purchased online, look out for the Summer Ball, dress up for a pirate show or wrap up for Old Man Winter complete with mulled wine. The actors lead you through a series of scenes created amongst the branches. Each season is different, they even have foraging and cooking sessions sometimes. But every time you come home amazed and delighted.

What a find. Very interesting museum on the mining in Cornwall. Informative volunteers take you around and could not have been more helpful. We explained we were short of time as we had to pick a child up from playgroup and they adapted the tour to suit. Very interesting, I have been on a number of these tours to other mines and was surprised to discover new things. Suitable for adults or older children not young families and steep steps, and lots of listening to do.
We also had a lovely coffee in the cafe close by and the food menu looked good as well.
Worth a trip. Added bonus tickets now last all season so we will be back to finish the museum again.

Carn Brea

A little tricky to find, look for the signpost for the castle and follow it. The track gets narrow and poorly surfaced but keep going!
Eventually, you will be rewarded with free parking at almost the highest point. A short walk gets you to either the castle or the Basset Monument from where you will enjoy a fantastic 360 degree view (You did go on a clear day didn't you?)
Don't just look around, use your eyes and an ordnance survey map and really study what is out there. How many historic Mine Engine houses can you see? What towns do you recognise? Where is the A30 that you no doubt were racing along yesterday? and what parts of the coast are clearly visible? I'm sure you will enjoy your visit, and if nothing else, the kids and dog will appreciate running about working up an appetite.
Just before you go, think of how difficult it must have been to build that monument, the quarying, transport, working and the erection of those massive granite stones. Arn't we lucky to be enjoying all this, for free, at our ancestors expense. These thoughts can change your view on life!

Great range of games to play, lots of different challenges. Highly recommended.

We had Sunday roast here. The roast beef was very tender and tasty. The portions were generous and the price only GBP 6.95 for a large portion and GBP 4.95 for a small portion. Only the Yorkshire pudding was a disappointment. It was very hard indeed. My wife had roast beef and roast Turkey and one of my sons had roast beef, Turkey and gammon. My second teenager being a small eater had only roast beef and two Yorkshire puddings without any vegetables. There was a wide selection of vegetables, including green peas, mushy peas cauliflower, carrots, brussel sprouts, roast potatoes and roast turnip. On the whole, very good value for a delicious Sunday roast.

The sweeping views of the Lands End Peninsula, starting from Penzance in the east all the way to Whitesands Bay, are breathtaking from this 600-foot hill that stands behind Lands End.

Reviewed By Robin O - London, United Kingdom

In spite of the way this is listed on Tripadvisor, Chapel Carn Brea is not to be confused with the similarly named Carn Brea (which is near Camborne). Chapel Carn Brea is the most westerly hill in England and lies between St Buryan and St Just, close to the A30 and Sennen Cove.
On a clear day it provides lovely views of the surrounding countryside and coastline and even the Isles of Scilly. It sits just above Lands End airport and you can watch the planes take off and land below you as you listen to the larks singing.
It is an easy walk from the car park up to the summit (657ft) where there is an ancient Bronze Age edifice and a (more modern!) diagrammatic map pointing out places of interest that can be seen from the peak.
If you are lucky you may see some of the ponies or rabbits which graze the land around the wide, well maintained, gravel path.

I have had many massages around the world, including in Thailand, this is the third thai massage I have had here, and it was superb again, the best.
Li is professional, yet friendly and kind. The stretches, decompression, joint mobilisation and acupressure are invigorating. I felt the muscles relax and had increased flexibility all over my body and my back pain was completely relieved.
It was truly amazing. I would recommend Li, she's superb and absolute value for money. Li does different types of massages, however, Thai massage is my absolute favourite. Thank you .
