Had great holiday with walking leaders Angela and Vic Blundell. Footsteps in Croatia. Did not have t think about anything. They organized transport to and from walks. So informative with history of country. And really put their energy into making the group of 14 holiday enjoyable. Thankyou. Highly recommended.

If you choose to come independently by road expect a 2kilometer drive down a poorly signed boulder strewn dirt track. It will take all your driving skills to gingerly navigate without tearing the underside of your car to shreds. Eventually you reach a spacious car parking area with nothing else there. Walking to the monastery takes stamina - 30 to 40 minutes in sturdy shoes - and natural balance. The pathway is mostly just a narrow stone and rubble track that winds itself down one side of the valley and up the other. Impassable for small children or the elderly. Once at the monastery the building itself is interesting, but smaller than one would expect. A modest entrance fee is payable but there is not really enough to see for a trip that will take more than an hour from the main road.

This is often referred to as one of Europe’s best Beaches. Not sure why it gets that honour — it’s certainly has a unique shape, from the air or the hillside it is an inverted “V” shaped spit. The beach is all small pebbles and on a good day the lounge chair venders do a booming business at 10 euros a chair or umbrella for the day. It also means a huge portion of the beach is commercialized and covered with lounge chairs and umbrellas. And overpriced restaurants and bars. Our airbnb hosts kindly supplied folding cushions which worked really well on the rough beach. The water around Brac island is stunningly clear, but cooling down towards the end of September. We were at Zlatni Rat on a cool and cloudy day when it nearly empty, and on a hot and sunny day when it was wall to wall people. We also sought out the Beaches at the other end of Bol, and found a protected bay with just a few people, sand, and no venders. Much better!

Come and visit "KALA" Cafe bar- the oldest private bar in Bol. You will have the warmest welcome! We have a beautiful Terrace garden area, where chairs and tables are shaded from the sun by pine trees. You can relax, gaze at the stunning turquoise sea and experience the amazing view over to the island of Hvar. Listen to the birds and the gentle waves as you enjoy our varied menu of the soft and alcoholic drinks. Established in 1978, Kala has soul and history. If the walls could talk they would tell us many stories of the fun generations of people have had in this bar! Situated in a quieter area of the town, yet very near to the centre, Kala is the perfect to relax, unwind and enjoy the beauty of Bol. We look forward to seeing you soon!
We can definately recommend this bar at any time. Good coffee and cocktails and we can also recommend the freshly made smoothies. The location is fantastic, nice music and you can enjoy the great view accross the sea from the Terrace. But what makes this Cafe Bar special is Frenk the house dog.

On the Island Brac you can visit the small "mountain". From where you can see the golden horn from above.
Some very warm wind is on that spot all the time. This makes getting out of water a pleasant experience even in September. Who is fond of sports which involve wind this is great spot. We rented board fro stand up peddling and that was nice pass time. Town is small and not very interesting. There are boat trips to old monastery, but prepare for hiking and bring good shoes.

Great location to catch beautiful sunset with a glass of wine. Solid selection of top quality local wines, paired with tasty small dishes gives relaxing sunset atmosphere. There are a few tables right on the beach, which are getting busy quickly so come early. Nice service as well.

The Dominican Monastery was built close to the Adriatic sea. It was not open to the public when I visited and not much could be said about it except that it was lodged at a quiet end of the town of Bol perfectly fit for the purpose of a monastery. I gathered that it was found in 1475 and has a museum and a library that contains rare manuscripts and books. The building did not impress me at all. There is however a very small church of St.Ivan and Teodor in front of it which dates back to the 9-10th century and is said to be the oldest church in Bol. I found the latter more interesting!

Wonderful, even if a bit expensive, full day excursion, from Bisevo's Blue and Green Cave, to Vis and Tito's hidden submarine base, to great Hvar...for finishing the run with dolphins behind our boat! Everything managed perfectly by skipper Ante, very professional and solid pilot and useful guide upon the various stops. Don't miss this tour if you are in Bol.

Even though the path up is difficult in places, the cave is definitely worth the effort.. The guide, Zoran, is enthusiastic and incredibly knowledgeable about the history and significance of the place. He brought the whole history to life and gave a complete description of all the theories about the carvings. This was one of the most interesting trips I have had the pleasure to be on.

Esta playa es una muy buena opción para relajarse y disfrutar del mar sin estar rodeados de la multitud que hay en el cuerno de oro. La recomiendo!
