Visit here once or twice a year, always pleased. New owners opened only one week ago. Full on a Tuesday night, good atmosphere and welcoming. Good food - "specials" were good value and langoustine dishes we had were excellent. Would be nice to see the main menu branch out a bit from burgers etc. Affogato dessert a favourite and well presented. We look forward to returning again soon.

I was in Tarbert overnight and simply walked up and down the quay looking at the various eating options before settling on Scott's Bistro. I struck lucky because (1) most tables were already reserved and (2) this is a stunningly good restaurant.
I started with the tomato soup (a special) and followed with a substantial dish of smoked salmon carbonara with linguine. Both were delicious while the service was outstanding.
Great food, excellent service, delightful ambience and reasonably priced.
Do make a reservation if you are planning to eat here.

A business lunch stop in this wonderful harbour-side cafe was an enjoyable way to kill an hour or so to accommodate a ferry delay. A great variety of light bites, soup, sandwiches, potatoes, paninis as well as more substantial meal options. I plumped for a bowl of Cullen Skink soup (Smoked Haddock and Potato) and a Bacon and Blue Cheese toasted Sandwich both of which were equally delicious.

With an abundance of world famous local ingredients at our disposal, including Creelers smoked salmon, locally landed seafood, venison and game birds, our chefs create superb meals. Good quality dining and excellent service go hand-in-hand at the West Loch Hotel. You can enjoy both in our light and airy restaurant. A small, family-run establishment, the West Loch Hotel dates from around 1780, and is well known locally for having some of the best food in the area. We are well placed for guests passing through, and for those wishing to spend longer in the area, exploring Argyll & the Isles. Ideally located for people heading on the whisky trail to Islay (just minutes from the ferry), most guests find our large whisky selection the perfect start to their adventure! A charming, former coaching inn, the hotel has been sympathetically modernised over the years, retaining many of its original features. Our rooms are dog-friendly, with a choice of double or single rooms, and we have also got family rooms available for those travelling with children. Able to cater for small events, from birthday parties to weddings, we always go the extra mile to make sure your special occasion is extra special.
This is a nice hotel and in good condition. We had a good dinner and breakfast was excellent my only complaint was the bedroom which was small. I would say pay more and get a front room.
I would recommend this hotel if you get a good room

Stayed with friends (two couples) for one night! Would definitely recommend! Extremely friendly! Good value for money! Hotel has been taken over by new owners and you can fairly say they are trying to overcome negative reviews from previous owners! Bar restaurant area lovely! Food great, rooms comfortable and clean, brand new beds, bedding, hairdryer, toiletries etc! Everthing you need for overnight stay and more! Would certainly return!

We had three courses each and the bill was just under sixty pounds, including (soft) drinks. The restaurant is not licensed. Service was attentive and the waiter was very helpful while we were choosing what to eat. The chef will cook dishes according to customers' tastes. (I cannot cope with hot food so chef left out the chillies in my selections. He also added chillies to my son's selections, as requested. My daughter is a vegan and had no difficulty finding suitable food. It is a small restaurant and seems to do a lot of takeaway food. I would definitely recommend The Tarbert Tandoori for a sit-down meal. Bathroom facilities are spotless. We will certainly be returning (especially as we had food left over which was boxed for us in order that we could take it home and not waste it.)

Fully licensed seafood restaurant in Tarbert, Loch Fyne, specialising in locally sourced fresh fish and shellfish prepared with simplicity and care. Full menu and daily specials with meat and vegetarian options also available, as well as a well appointed wine list. We promote a relaxed and friendly dining experience and look forward to welcoming you to Starfish.
I booked the table and discussed with Kate that I wanted a shellfish platter. I asked for a larger lobster. When we arrived we decided not to have a starter. Good decision. The platter had two crabs, one large lobster oysters, languistins and mussels. They were beautifully cooked and presented. The cost was £80 for us both and we could not finish the meal. Great value.
I warn you that you need to organise this before you go as it is not on the menu at this time.

Popped in for coffee and cake.
Friendly staff.....lovely cup of cappuccino & the Victoria sponge cake was yummy.
The menu looks great & will definitely be returning for lunch.
The cook shop is also worth browsing......good quality utensils etc on sale.
I however have one thing that I liked least & that was the cleanliness of the toilet......
