No matter how infrequently you visit, you will always be greeted like a regular.
I love Italian food and this is certainly the best I’ve tasted. I am visiting from the UK and I rally liked the restaurant at Waterstones. The food was delicious. My risotto was light fluffy and presented ina hot pan as often by the dime you get to the end of the dish it’s ooled down, but not so here. I also recommend a visit to the restaurant Giovanna at Eikendale where you can dine by their lake. So good I’ve made a further booking.

Walking into Henri's, you will be greeted by the owner and the staff who will treat you like guests in their own home.Henri's is conveniently situated on Somerset West's Main Road in a heritage building that has been renovated into a spacious contemporary restaurant. Well known for their aged grass-fed beef as well as the freshest local seafood. The menu can be described as comfort food with a modern global influence. You can also enjoy a drink on our patio or at the stylish bar. Once you've discovered Henri's you'll be back (and back again!)
We are not new to Henri’s, and noted with some satisfaction that corkage remains free. We seem to end up at the same table each visit, and were quickly served by our efficient waiter.
I chose the sticky ginger pork, which was an excellent choice. My wife, inevitably, ate the filet of beef with pepper sauce. I had my share of that too, and it was great as well.
We moved to the bar with our wine after finishing our food to avoid the laughing female hyena at the next table, who was getting louder by the minute!
Henri’s is a reliable choice in Somerset West, and we always enjoy our meals there – wildlife permitting!

Fine dining in the heart of the winlelands with spectacular views over False bay . Lunch Monday to sunday 12 to 2 pm . Dinner monday to saturday 7 pm to 9 pm
We had a fantastic birthday celebration dinner at Waterkloof last night. Our table was in the big glass window looking out over False Bay. We chose the 3 course option and also ordered the wines that were recommended with each. The food could have been works of art - beautiful, tasty, delectable - portions could have been a bit larger though but this is a fine dining restaurant so smaller portions are what one can expect. I can highly recommend starter scallops, the quail as the main dish, and any of the Deserts. The wine produced by this farm is of the highest quality. It is an expensive restaurant but I felt it was worth every cent.

The fillet mignon served in a brandy, onion and cream sauce. Meat cooked medium rare and sliced into chunks. Very tasty. My wife had the line fish of the day, it was large, hot and perfectly cooked - she thought it was delicious. We both had the cooked cheesecake with cream, fruit coulis and a few raspberries, very good although quite filling! .

Situated on the beachfront in the Strand, Ben's on the Beach boasts spectacular views across False Bay, towards Cape Town. Veteran award-winning restaurateur Ben, and his wife, Shirley (a former hotel school lecturer), established Ben's in 2004. They have created a stylish yet relaxed venue, where a varied and well-priced selection of dishes is offered. Ben's is one of the few remaining establishments that continues to dry-age meat - the time-honored and superior method. At Ben's you will not find over-priced and under-portioned "haute cuisine". We believe that the new expression "less is more" is gobbeldygook, where food is concerned. We concentrate on the simple yet timeless dishes that diners return to again and again, such as a great steak, fresh linefish, and the ever-popular creme brulee. At Ben's, you will discover generous portions at honest prices. We look forward to your visit ... And then return!
Haven’t been to the this one for over ten years. Pleasantly surprised!
Menu leaning more towards a steakhouse than seafood which I find strange being on the BEACH and decor inside has a nautical feel.
Food however was great! Honey glazed pork ribs was the best I had in a very very long time. My colleague said the same about his rump steak. My wife had fish with steamed mussels and thoroughly enjoyed it. Calamari not the best but have had worse at seafood restaurants. Service very friendly and attentive.
Iona wines amongst others at affordable prices.
Really well worth a visit - and a view to add!

We were recommended to eat here by the lady in the tourist office. For those that enjoy Sushi, this must be heaven, but we don't, so chose other dishes. We shared the Greek Mezze to start, which was very tasty and I had the grilled Dorado, which was delicious. Irene had the Mussels in Sauce, which she really enjoyed. I prefer a mature wine so the waiter found me a bottle of Elgin Vintners Syrah 2011, which was super. The meal came to 621 rand, more than we usually spend, but well worth it and great value. The high point for us was that they allowed us to use their WiFi after we had finished our meal, as the service in our guesthouse is very poor. Highly recommended and we will definitely come again.

Zest Restaurant is a Mediterranean Bistro located in the small coastal town of Gordon's Bay. Zest serves contemporary Mediterranean cuisine with a twist. It is located on the beach front, which offers spectacular views of False Bay. It is a quaint family owned Restaurant that boasts with two qualified Head Chefs. It offers the best dining experience in the Bay, which will even satisfy the hardened critics. Their stylish menu features a wide variety, including fresh seafood, poultry, beef, pork, in season vegetables from local Gardens and farms, as well as homemade soups, breads and decadent desserts, always presented tastefully. Come to Zest and enlighten your senses!
Do not be put off by the rather drab and casual appearance, this place does seriously good food. Book in advance if you can.
We never return to the same restaurant on two consecutive nights....but we did here!
We enjoyed risotto, crab cake, baby calamari and mussels as starters. All were incredibly tasty and well presented.
As for mains: Perfectly cooked line fish, Hake and mussel combo, a burger and a vegetarian pasta dish all really impressed us.
The service was just as we like it, attentive but not in your face.
A great wine list too and all very reasonably priced. The two of us even managed two bottles of chenin blanc on the first night.
Visit and enjoy!!

The Camphors at Vergelegen signature restaurant takes its name from the ancient giant camphor trees, planted in 1700, situated in front of the historic Homestead. The restaurant overlooks expansive lawns and beautiful trees complementing the overall dining experience and creating an ambiance never to be forgotten. After only a year of operation, Camphors was awarded place in the Top Ten restaurants in South Africa, in The Eat Out DStv Restaurant Awards 2014, as well as being the Regional Winner - Wine Tourism Restaurant - in the 2014 Great Wine Capitals. Vergelegen produces classical wine varietals and the ever changing menu reflects a modern take on classical international and local food dishes, specifically designed to complement Vergelegen's award-winning wines. The Sommelier and his restaurant team guide diners through the menu and recommended wine selections to ensure a relaxed and memorable food and wine experience. Regrettably, Camphors is not child-friendly.
Came back to Camphors after a couple of month to check whether our extraordinary experience in november 17 was just a lucky punch. It wasn’t. Also the new menu with the new wine pairings offers really remarkable combinations:
Starting with a beautiful carrot, ricotta finds smoked dish accompanied with a delicate and well balances chardonnay reserve 2016.
Followed by a creamy snook which made the otherwise pretty acid 2016 schaapenberg reserve sauvignon blank just smooth and beautiful.
The main fish course was hake - a bit too rich for me - but again an nice match with the semillion res. 2016
An awesome pair is the springbok tatar with the 2014 shiraz - just sensational.
The maincourse i would call a camphors classic: five types of lamb with their two top Bordeaux style top reds - the 2012 GVB and the Cabernet Sauvignon of the same vintage. Not being a Bordeaux lover, the GVB is just a remarkable wine.
The menu ended with a nice pre dessert an a pineapple-cashew dish and a nice 2013 straw wine.
So overall, to me, their concept and the way the live up to it is just unmatched: the best wine-food pairings in za presented by really attentive and competent staff.

Pajamas & Jam is magical. We have good food, good music , loungewear and extraordinary collection of treasures. We have visual riches to delight everyone. We have a great love for this shop because it appeals to one's senses and emoitions. There is always something new .....
As the place is rather busy, they don’t need to care for their customers. When ordering a „Rooibos Tee“ you get one from Singapur. When questioning why you get told that’s how it is here by the lady in charge said.
