Following TripAdvisor’s rating we went here and were not disappointed. Very friendly ladies serving all the guests quickly and professionally. The menu features mostly fish dishes, a few bottles of wine and many wines by the glass.
Nice setting, good service, good food, in one word: perfect!

By the lakeside, this is a pleasant venue. As we visited in winter, we sat indoors, but outdoors in warmer weather would give lake views.
We were warmly welcomed and our English speaking waiter provided with English menus and was most helpful.
It seems to be a popular venue and our lunch was nicely presented and delicious.

This restaurant has an amazing hall with great decorations. The meny looks great and the food taste good,,,,not amazing,, Many restaurant intended to have a gourmet-look with many smaller dishes,,,but sometimes it looks too much with an 2.5 cm cucumber on a big main-dish plate,, In the end I was not sure what was "beginner" or starter among all very small dishes,, The main dish taste very well and so did the dessert, but not as spectacular as the nice hall intended to show you.

The historical building takes you back in time and makes authentic surroundings for a well-prepared and professionally served German dinner. The liver was juicy and delicious with the onion-apple garnitures. The rinderroulade was served with with tasty stuffings and a great sauce. The Christmas special ice cream was a great refreshment. The staff was very attentive and friendly.

Comfortable booths, a large hall and a crémeweiß tree restaurant invite you to enjoy, relax, celebrate or days. Creative regional cuisine with Mediterranean influences, peppered with seasonal highlights await you here. The chef surprised every evening with an additional special menu. On Sundays in summer gebruncht liked the large garden.
What to say about this place?
We just went there for Friday dinner to celebrate the start of our holidays. It is situated in a historic building near Schwerin Castle in the centre of town. There is ample space to sit outside, but at this time of year, it still tends to get chilly at night, so we preferred to sit inside. At the entrance there is a little wine shop and the interior tries to be modern with very high ceilings.
As it is asparagus season in Germany, we went for the asparagus soup for starters. Unfortunately, there was bacon in the soup, which was not mentioned on the menu. That meant my vegetarian girlfriend could not eat it. I tasted the bacon and it was so heavily cured, it was unedible. Shame. Such a real shame. The waiter, who took away our dishes neither offered an apology nor made any attempts to rectify the mistake.
The main was white asparagus with new potatoes and melted butter; a Schnitzel on top for me. The totally curdled 'Hollandaise sauce" managed to completely ruin our culinary experience in Schwerin and left us utterly underwhelmed and unimpressed.
On top of that, the food was drowned in dried "edible" blueish little flowers. Needless to say they could NOT reverse the damage previously done to the food in the kitchen.
When we asked for the bill, the waiter had not deducted anything of the bill, so embarrassingly, I had to ask him to take off the soup. He sounded surprised, as if we had not previously told him what was wrong with the soup in the first place and replied: "why, the soup was good".... I was lost for words for a change (this does not occur very often).
In the end the grotty "service" and the rotten food lets this place irreparably down and that waiter deservedly did not get any tip from us. Serves him right, eh?
Can one be any more disinterested in their own guest's wellbeing and satisfaction? Even so, how about the restaurant's reputation? Evidently, they still have lots to learn...
I have been to many places in and around Schwerin now and regretfully one has to testify this is the culinary "Nirvana" of Germany with little or nothing happening that could excite a gournet's palate.

Went for a lunch at the Kartoffelhaus. One can find a Kartoffelhaus in every city of Germany. This one was extremely disappointing. Being a vegeterian, I ordered a Mediterranean Baked Potato. It was seasoned with chilli, balsamic, sour cream and rucola salad. Absolutely bland. Not worth the 12 euro.

Evening meal here which was tasty, hot and well served. A busy restaurant but we weren't kept waiting which was good and the staff were professional and polite. It was about 55 euros for two people for a three course meal so not too bad. My starter and main were good and can recommend. The desserts were really good, try the ice and coal which is ice cream and hot cherries in amaretto! The staff handled all the orders very well including the complicated payments - very well done to them.

This has always been a popular Café, the sort you imagine when you go to have traditional Coffee and cake in the afternoon. It's quite busy and noisy, so if your looking for a quiet place this isn't it. Food is also good, but I'd go for the cakes. Definitely.

The best part of Germany!
Forget the beer, the sausages, the weinerschnitzel ...forget everything. The best part of Germany in my opinion are its bakeries. Besides eye appeal, they are delicious.
This place does it just right.
Add a coffee or a cold drink and you have s great mid-day snack.

The restaurant is located in the city centre and may easily be overlooked. Don't do i!
The restaurant has all what you can ask for for - and more. A great selection of small and big dishes, a wide range in type and ingredients and all served appealing after reasonable waiting time. We were 3 guests and chosed 3 different dishes. We were all happy about our selection. The beers were good and cold and served after a short time. Several wines were on offer. Prices are fair. I am sure that most people can find a menu and beverages that will make him, or her, happy. We would like to come come back again.
