This is a family-friendly restaurant serving Italian food with an emphasis on pizza. On two subsequent visits on a Saturday night and Sunday lunch (the only restaurant open) the place was packed with large families.
On Saturday night we waited to place our order. Our waiter (was it Severino?)was the only male amongst the female staff and he took his sweet time coming to our table.
We waited for our meals which were not delivered by our waiter. We had been handed off to one of the female staff. The food was tasty.
We asked for the check and watched our waiter busy himself for twenty minutes clearing other tables and resetting them. No regard for the customers, just intent on recovering the tables. Finally, we realized he wasn't going to help us, so we asked a complete stranger (Christina) to bring us the bill.
We repeated our mistake the following day (no other restaurants open) and went back for lunch. This time we were served by Fatima who promptly took our order. She delivered my Wiener Schnitzel but forgot my wife's pizza. Every ten minutes Fatima would stop by our table to blurt out "Pizza is coming!" Meanwhile, she continied to deliver pizza after pizza to the families surrounding us. Twenty minutes later, we demanded to know what was happening. She responded that "Pizza takes a long time!" Certainly, pizza does not take 45 minutes to cook? She offered my wife a free coffee while she waited. We declined and paid the bill and left and went across the street to the gas station and bought a Sandwich. It was pathetic.
The restaurant has several things going for it, but the staff is poorly trained and inattentive.
Very, very unsatisfied. Avoid unless you enjoy waiting... and waiting.

Lowen is a lovely, relaxed restaurant in the heart of Bad Ragaz. Vegetarian dishes are available and the menu is eclectic. The broccoli with chili, is superb, the chef told us he discovered the recipe during travels in Amsterdam. Great choice for dining if you're in Bad Ragaz.

Pure InspirAsian in the Restaurant Namun: Asian cuisine is not only delicious with its spicy and lemony aromas, it is also light and healthy. The authentic nature of the restaurant is reflected in the range of dishes on the menu as well as in its atmosphere and in the Asian staff. All together it promises culinary connoisseurs a dazzling plethora of colours, aromas and flavours that will appeal to all the senses.
In the past 28 years of travelling the world, I have dined in 100's of restaurants. Rarely have I ever encountered a staff with the level of knowledge and passion for their product than I did last night at Namun in Bad Ragaz. Both the manager and our waitress might as well have been fully vetted and certified wine sommeliers. In fact, I believe the waitress said she is a sommelier-in-training. They even had the honesty and courage to state that they did not like a particular wine. Their knowledge of the non-liquid part of the menu was just as thorough.
Then there was the caring, friendly attention that gave us, anticipating needs and helping within being fawning.
It would have been quite a paradox (and disappointment) if the kitchen did not deliver at the high-level they set. They delivered. Compliments and thanks all around!

Last year, during a trip to Germany and Switzerland, I had the pleasure of dining at the Zunfthaus. The food, atmosphere and service were absolutely perfect. The chef, Thomas, created a fabulous dessert to share between our table. Highly recommended. HH, Toronto

Waldheim has a great location at the beginning of Weisstannental.
They offer specialities from the region which change during seasons. In autumn they have a good selection of venison from the local woods.
We had the four course menu and found it very tasty - generous portions, simple but excellent cooking.

Typically Swiss! Here, the atmosphere is traditional and cosy, and the menu is simple. Dishes of the day, regional specialities, fondues, open wines and draught beer. Get to know and savour our regional and Swiss specialities. Capuns (chard leaf parcels), Züri Gschnätzlets (Zurich-style veal strips in a creamy sauce) or alpine herb-risotto. These dishes as well as all sorts of different fondues are available in this cosy restaurant. The fish and meat fondues are only served on pre-order (until 2 p.m., minimum of 2 people). In our Zollstube, you can choose from more than 15 different beers, among them the 36.5° Quell – our beer brewed with thermal water.
We had dinner twice here. It is always busy here with local people and hotelguests. We enjoyed the kind service and Zürcher gezchnetzeltes kalbfleisch and a cheese fondue on the other night. Nice local wines. Book in advance.

Of course the Schluessel is not a secret, since the chef makes some of the most delicious dishes in the eastern part of Switzerland. You can choose between the fine dining restaurant or the more bourgeois Stube. Food, wine and service are always impeccable, done with great attention to detail and definite
Passion. My favourite must be the white wine cream soup, I have to have it at each visit. The place itself is beautiful and welcoming the chef friendly and the front house warm and inviting. Definitely worth more than one visit.

The title might be a little misleading. The food was excellent and the portions were large. The staff was friendly and the beer good. The interesting part is that is that we only speak English and a little Czech which is not a problem because we just use Google translate. Only problem was we could not get signal in the restaurant. But we had fun trying to figure out the menu and the staff tried to help but their English was about as good as our German. But we managed and had a great meal of schnitzel and cordon blue. We will talk about this meal with fond memories. Great place to eat but brush up on your German.
