Came here for dinner with the family. Unfortunately we weren't that hungry. Too bad because the food was excellent!
First off, our son ordered a Quito Mule for a cocktail. I am normally anti any mule but this one was outstanding!!. After providing samples to me and his brother in law, we ordered two more!
Even the bread and butter deserves mention. The butter was really good. It had herbs in it but it was more than that. Not sure exactly what made it so good but seemed like it had been freshly churned.
We had a smattering of different dishes for our mains, ranging from ceviche to a special of beef goulash. I had the goulash but I wouldn't call it a typical goulash. It was beef cheeks with an amazing glaze and native potatoes. Everything on my plate was perfect and I would order it again in a heartbeat. Everyone at the table like their dishes. There were two different types of ceviche, a shrimp and a fish. I think the table would vote for the fish if they had to pick which was better.
Service was good but be warned our waiter spoke very limited English.

We are a traditional business with 60 years of tradition in Quito, we always give aour best to make happiest guest with quality and service. Is a tradicional dish that combines Cost and the Andes.
For only 5 USD you get a huge potion of delicious fried fish, roasted potatoes and shrimp ceviche. So if your are hungry this is the place you have to go.
I know, I know it is located in the Mercado Central, but... believe me give it a chance!
And remember two people can have a great meal for 8 USD to 10 USD total.

Indian Cuisine.
Went here with a large group and arrived early. Staff were very prompt and courteous, and were really great at recommending different appetizers and dishes. Incredibly knowledgeable about the food, and very accommodating with food allergies and dietary restrictions. There were about 10 of us and we were served surprisingly fast after ordering. Everyone was very satisfied with their orders and most ended up with take away. I'd recommend for anyone looking for an authentic Indian food experience while visiting Quito.

Cafe Rio Intag
This great café is on St. Francis Square (the smaller one in Cotacachi). Intag looks small from the street but there are six interconnected rooms to give the feel of intimate Seating no matter where you are. It is a great coffee shop. It has a full bar. There is a decent light menu and killer pastry. It’s all good! The interior décor is eclectic and well executed. Loved it. The staff is cheerful, talented, and bi-lingual. If there was an official must visit list Intag would be on it.
I had one of Intag’s specialty coffees called “Dark Angel”. Never anything like it. Must visit if you are in Cotacachi.

You can eat delicious and healthy, with selected ingredients for good salud.En Cafe San Blas you can enjoy a fresh and handmade, with a cozy like home. Open from 6pm to 10pm.
I usually judge a 'pasta place' by its Bolognese sauce. This one was crazy delicious. A uniquely sweeter style than most I have had in Italy, Argentina or USA, but it was out of this world! Incredible value. Super hard-working and dedicated team. Too small of a space for the number of eager people wishing to dine there. So glad I had the opportunity.

Shibumi is a pioneer in Ecuadorian dining that introduces local and seasonal ingredients found nowhere else in the world, while reinventing the most classic forms of Japanese cuisine. The menu changes daily based on the market's finds, and the beer selection rotates weekly to highlight our latest discoveries. We base our experiments on the most demanding foundation of technique, quality, and simplicity, using Japanese traditions as a primary point of reference. The process of sushi allows us to combine flavors in inventive ways. The philosophy of omakase, which invites guests to eat the Chef's selections, allows our patrons to join us on a new level of experience, as both participants in discovery and fellow seekers of excellence. We hope you choose to make this a destination on your next visit to Quito.
We went here with friends and were very happy to eat this yummy food. The chef really puts his heart in his preparations. We watched a video on him somewhere in facebook, and that is why we came here, the little documentary is right in every way, you can really see the ingredients are fresh and each roll is made to perfection.

The bakery is located in the old town of Quito, and they offer a wide range of pastries and cakes on display.
They display interesting stories on the table in Spanish and in English, which was interesting to read while waiting for our food and drinks.
The hot Sandwich was good, but the lemon tart was extremely good. We were lucky to have a fresh batch that was just baked and it was very good.
We went back again to have the lemon pie on our second visit but they didn't have that or the apple pie. It would be nice if they constantly had those in stock. We also tried the croissant and that was alright but not great.

Our main produce is quinoa pudding - served with hand made ice cream and fruits. We also make the best quinoa burgers in town as well as chop suey and other dishes - all quinoa based.
Stopped in a couple of times recently while visiting Mindo. The quinoa soup, a large portion, was excellent and very filling. Nevertheless, I still had room for some of the fine sorbet. The owner was quite friendly, and offered-up several samples, and took the time to chat about recipes. He gave me a sample of the in-house chicha and had me sample each of the sorbets before I settle on a combination. I returned the following day to try the Colada Morada - very good. The upstairs balcony is great spot to have a Pilsner and what what is going on. Good food and friendly owners!

Craft coffee in the Mountains of Ecuador. Improving and promoting the culture of coffee in Ecuador. La Cosecha Coffee provides quality coffee and food in a comfortable setting while highlighting the artisanal roots in the Otavalo area. Otavalo is known internationally for its indigenous culture and handicrafts. La Cosecha Coffee is proud to share a space next to the craft market that thousands of visitors enjoy every year. La Cosecha means the harvest or crop in Spanish. The harvest of coffee from the neighboring Intag area allows us to contribute to the artisanal culture by crafting single serve coffee and espresso drinks. Every good cup of coffee or latte needs a good companion. Try a bagel with fig butter or honey walnut cream cheese or one of our other baked items that we rotate daily. If you are looking for a lunch option we have a selection of panini and cold sandwiches.
A clean, airy, comfortable cafe to watch the hustle and bustle of the market square, serving great coffee and one of the best chocolate muffins (warm) I have ever tasted. It is well laid out, the staff are friendly, and the prices are reasonable. Nothing...MoreThanks for visiting! We know the Wi-Fi is giving problems.. Sorry! We will change our provider as soon as possible.
