Located in the city center, this pastry shop serves the best traditional sweets and Deserts of Santarém region.
"Pampilhos", "Celestes", are just some of the delicacies possible to be tasted in here or take away.
Is the pastry shop in Santarém that I will return everytime I visit the city.

Had a nice codfish for lunch, maybe a bit overpriced for the location and other options around. Average service.

A good vibe it is! It's been recommended several times and finally we got to visit the place. Good, meals were tastefull and the atmosphere was welcoming. We enjoyed a spicy pasta and the Ossobuco. Living in the area we will soon come back!
I do feel sorry for the owner that the area is still not developed. So, don't look around, just go for Di Gusto!

Restaurante familiar com 25 anos de experiência , comida típica portuguesa entre os grelhados de um ótimo peixe fresco e muito boa carne. Dispomos de três salas modernas
Situated in a suburb a little too far for walking from the historic town centre you will need a taxi or your own transport to get here. In my opinion it is well worth the extra effort, at least based on our lunch experience on a Sunday in November.
The restaurant was packed; I think we were the only non-Portuguese guests. Lots of family groups. Always a good sign when a restaurants is filled with locals, isn't it?
The waiters and the owner spoke excellent English. There is a menu in English, and their fresh seafood and their cakes are on display, so there will be no language issues.
We had smoked ham and sausages, cheese and olives as starters - a mouth-watering combination.
We then both picked a squid-shrimp-vegetable spit each. They just looked too tempting. They came with broccoli (over-cooked) and potatoes (nothing special). The grilled spits were the better, sheer fantastic. Squid on a grill can easily go wrong and give an outrageously rubbery result, but not here! Soft, tasty, delicious, and so were the other ingredients.
White house wine was of good quality and accompanied the meal beautifully.
The portions were large, and we were so full that there was no space in our stomachs for tasting their tempting cakes, unfortunately.
Highly recommended!

Chafarica da Torre is a traditional Portuguese cuisine restaurant, since December 2001. The specialities are the meat dishes, but the starters are so delicious that sometimes you'll jump straight to desserts... facebook:ChafaricadaTorre
With a recommendation from the night concierge of our hotel in Santarem we walked down to Chafarica da Torre to find them open earlier than advertised. Although not a fluent English speaker our waiter was friendly, helpful and persevering. We had the best grilled salmon we have eaten so far in Portugal and what we have previously had was excellent. The salmon cutlets were large, had minimal bones and were charcoal grilled to perfection. The fish was accompanied by small jacket potatoes and cabbage which were both also delicious. I had white rice which complemented the fish. The waiter recommended the house wine, a litre of local red at our request. It was very good. Vegetable soup and crusty bread provided a very enjoyable starter. The total cost was a very reasonable €35.

It's a small cosy restaurant, with an old decoration that seems to emulate a bulls fight arena tavern. Staff is friendly. Food was very good, although not cheap, the price was fair for its quality. Recommend the burger in "caco" bread or the tuna burger.

While driving from Lissabon to north eastern Portugai, it was time to have lunch as I was close to Santarem. There I decided to stop there and having lunch in this small but magnificent restaurant. High quality seafood and fish. Really very well prepared. The place deserved the stop.

Had a good lunch at O Micas. Large portions of Bacalhau, well prepared. Nice staff and good wine choice. Nice place to eat!

Excellent ambiance with some outside tables made out of wood barrels and music (Fado). Service and staff were great, food even better. Open until 2am it's a great place to have dinner, mostly "petiscos" (somewhat related to tapas). Big dishes and great value. A definitely must go restaurant in Santarém.
