Unbelievable tasty goat meat. The salads, the cheese and, even, the bread were superb. Unlike anything you've ever tried! Excellent service as well. It certainly is a must-visit. Reasonable priced too.

We stopped for lunch after visiting Waterfalls. It is bit far from everywhere but it is really worth it. Beautiful and tranquil taverna. Very friendly service. Great place for vegetarians as well. Feta saganaki and baked beans were delicious. Home made dessert was very good.Thank you for your review!

We stumbled upon Stenaki around 4, just as he was opening. He made us delicious hot chocolate with big hunks of melting chocolate in it, so creamy and delicious! He also made us crepes of chocolate and sour cherries, to die for. Stenaki has never heard of Trip Advisor. I told him I was going to write him up! In his little cafe, he has photos of winter blizzards, a collection of antique shop signs, and his favorite old movie posters. He's an artistic kind of guy. You'll like him.

Good fresh fish and sea food. Service is a bit slow during busy summertime days. Excellent red mallets, cooked to perfection. The same for the rest of the fish we ordered. Grilled Calamari (squid) was nicely done.
A safe choice for fish eating cuisine. I would recommend it.
CAREFUL with the payment type. Though they claim they accept credit cards, when I gave them mine they said that "unfortunately the POS was exceptionally out of order"!!!

It is located in therma, in the vicinity of the trekking path, with a wide parking lot with a lot of shade. The tables are also under the trees and you can have lunch with an excellent cool feeling. Not many proposals, but of good quality. We had 2 beef with red sauce and fried potatoes, 1 geen beans 1 greek coffee 1 frappe and a bottle of water for 25 euros

I did not find it any special. Good food, that is all about it. Irritating was a laud music that was impossible to get anywhere to normal and the service, which was so so. Also, there is a road to Gria Vathra going in principle right across the taverna.

Cozy atmosphere, delicius food, nice music and excellent cocktails
Before dinner I enjoy going to a place, where I can have a drink and enjoy some people watching. At Kamariotissa's seaside there are several places to do that. The 'S'kholeio' (the school) struck me as the most attractive to sit down with folding chairs made of wood and with a black mesh covering.
The friendly young waitress recommended me the local 'Fonias' beer, named after the island's top attraction, the waterfall of Fonias, a beer I had never seen anywhere else. It is a rather strong Pale Ale (6.2% alcohol) from a microbrewery founded in 2014 at Samothraki's Chora, as the waitress informed me. The ale is served in the brewery's own type of glass with stem
Although I am not especially a fan of ale's, I quite liked its full, sweetish flavor. On the menu it says that this beer goes well with yellow cheese, so I was brought some with it, but unfortunately it was the kind of mass-produced cheese slices one finds at hotels breakfast buffets.
The next time I tried a local lager from the town of Komotini in Thrace, called 'Vergina', thus with a name from a Macedonian historical site. Quite good, but I would still preferably go for a 'Mythos' or 'Alpha' beer. All beers at the 'S'kholeio' come in bottles of 330ml.

Our restaurant is located on the main road from Kamariotissa to Therma, at Kato kariotes. With a beautiful garden and sea view . You can taste here delicious fresh seafood and inspired traditional greek cuisine. You can also rent a bike here.
I had dinner twice at this excellent fish taverna. The atmosphere is unique under the trees and not far from the beach. The staff was very friendly and helpful and the dishes reasonable priced. The fish soup and the seafood pasta were unforgettably tasty!

This restaurant, specializing in seafood and fish - no wonder, since it belongs to a family of fishermen - is located on the southern side of Kamariotissa, outside the center. There is a big covered area for outdoor Seating, overlooking the sea.
The not overly friendly waitress came to my table and started rattling off very fast all they had available this evening, but she brought me a menu card, when I asked for it. They have a big choice of fish, all caught in the Thracian Sea. When I asked for a grilled fish, she recommended me 'Bakaliaros', caught today, which in this case meant a hake and not the popular salted cod from the northern Atlantic, also called 'Bakaliaros' (the 'Bacalao' of Portugal).
It was not a big fish, but quite tasty and I liked it more than the Octopus on vinegar, which I had as a starter. With it I drank a bottle of 'Malamatina' (always 0.5l), the by now most popular Retsina wine of Greece, It is made in Thessaloniki, but the company had been founded by a Mr.Malamatinas from Alexandroupoli just across from here.
The next time I was here I had a grilled Octopus as a main course, which I definitely prefered to the vinegary one. With the salad as a starter I was offered some of their dishes of the day to taste: a homemade tuna salad and 'Kritharaki me Soupia' (rice shaped pasta with Cuttlefish). Still into local specialities, also drink wise, I asked for an Ouzo Goidas from Alexandroupoli, which elsewhere in Greece is not so easily found, but which is also no match to the more famous Ouzo's from the island of Lesbos.
When I asked for the bill, it came not with the details as usual, but just the total amount. Since it looked very reasonable, I didn't mind.
