This beautiful fishing town on the Mediterranean Sea glimmers with sunshine and charm—so much so that Vincent van Gogh captured the streets and seascape of Saintes-Marie-de-la-Mer. In between lunching and shopping, visit the monolithic Church of Three Saints, a stone Romanesque church that was built in the 12th century. That, plus museums and bullfight arenas, will stimulate your cultural yens. Savor fresh fish and plump shellfish at any one of Sainte-Marie-de-la-Mer’s exquisite cafes and restaurants.

This is an excellent restaurant on Saintes-Maries-de-la-Mer a little bit away from the main road. The food is amazingly good and very good value for money. Make sure you reserve a table in advance as it is impossible to find space in the evening without it.

All too often, seafront cafes fall into the pattern of chips-with-everything and anonymous battered fish: not here. This is one of some 15 restaurants lining the road beside the marina: we took advice from a local and walked perhaps 300 yards from the 'centre' to find it. Madame greeted us warmly and, having given us menus, soon brought us the 'catch of the day' to look at on a large tray: there was turbot and sole. We chose a large turbot to share. The fish was brought back to us to see, having been grilled whole, then taken away to be filleted. It came back accompanied by fresh vegetables and it was quite simply delicious. Crusty French bread and a carafe of crisp, white wine were perfect companions. For dessert we chose ice-cream drenched in vodka. The whole meal worked brilliantly and cost 50 euros for two. Madame came over several times to ask our opinion: she seemed to care.
If you are in the Camargue, lunch here: you will love it.

Very popular restaurant notable for the Flamenco band that plays on certain evenings. Supplement of 3 euros added to bill for each person to cover cost.. All the players from the same family- they sell their CD's at the end. Food good- service remarkably prompt considering how busy they get. Booking essential- we as a group of 4 got the last table.

A small, friendly restaurant that specialises in fresh seafood. There are a few meat dishes on the menu, and the usual salads. I ordered the dorade royale, a beautifully yet simply grilled fish, whole on the bone and served with rice and aubergine. My wife enjoyed a mixed salad. A good choice of home made desserts rounded off a lovely occasion. Realistically priced for lunch. Friendly service, full by the time we left.

We had an early dinner and went to the restaurant without a reservation with four kids and two adults. The restaurant is right across the yacht harbour and has a basic but friendly atmosphere. You sit on highchairs around old casks, which creates an easy going ambiance. The service was extremely friendly and relaxed, also taking good care of our kids.
The oysters were oustanding, as were the Moules with garlic or the Moules with white wine. We very much enjoyed the dinner and the prices were quite reasonable. All in all a great and personal experience which you usually do not expect in a touristy place. We would definitely come back. Merci!

Repas bon mais pas très copieux très bon spectacle. Un peu de longueur dans le service et un peu cher. Mais l ambiance y est et cela fait vite oublier le reste finalement pour n en garder qu' un magnifique souvenir.

Privileged to experience the culture and passion of this farm and the people who rear the Bulls. The food was home made and exemplary and displayed the best of local produce and cooking. Anchorage with the freshest of crudités, tellines, bull stew and strawberry gateau to finish. The tour is all in french which can be difficult for non speakers, but I cannot recommend this place highly enough

...it knows it. Great food and wine. Stunning location. My husband hasn't stopped going on about the price of the sun beds at 13 euros each. I enjoyed it though and had a lovely nap!

If I'm going to eat something a little 'naughty' then I'd like it to be worth it!
So after Reading the reviews and passing this place I treated myself to a caramel ice-cream. I thoroughly enjoyed it and would happily have another there.
They seem to have three counters full of different flavours. Cones or tubs, cream or not. Plenty of options.
Seemed like a worthy no1 ice-cream place to me.
