Stayed in Ruhpolding for a week and ate three times at the Mandarin because the food is fantastic.I had a different starter and main course every visit and they were all great and beautifully cooked.Price wise the food and drinks were far cheaper than any Chinese meal I have had in the UK and huge portions.
Give the place a visit and you will be very happy

On a rainy day, our friends recommended a restaurant- Butzn Wirt. It is located a few miles from Ruhpolding, in the "Bavarian Alps"! The drive was beautiful and a very winding narrow road up the mountain! The site was just fantastic, it is indeed a restaurant with a view! We had to have our meals served indoors, as the rain/showers on and off.We had the 'Liver dumpling soup" and the "Spargel" soup, and for the main course- the "Wienersnitzel" and Roast pork with potato and salads. We had the house wine and beer. It was simply delicious and so tasty! Coffee and dessert was also delicious. The service was excellent, the wait staff was very welcoming and efficient. All around this restaurant is a little meadow with brown cows, the cow bells can be heard. The walks near the restaurant was just breathtaking. Highly recommended.

Revisited this restaurant in January 2016 after a previous visit in July 2007.
Had the obligatory swan dessert- this one with blueberries and the usual trimmings.
Washed down with their own speciality coffee the dessert was as delicious as I had remembered.
Lovely appointed rooms gave for a warm glow on a cold day.
Go!

Janos is a very good, busy restaurant with a very varied menu. Every meal I have had there was most enjoyable. The service is satisfactory but can sometimes be slow. The waiters are not interested in making conversation, just taking your order and bringing you the food. I don't think we were asked once if we enjoyed our meals, although we did actually enjoy the food.

Fresh and homemade meals, sauces and salad dressings homemade without flavour enhancer. For children: separate childrens' room with lots of toys, playground outside, special menu Menu available in German and English
The restaurant is attached to the hotel and has a Terrace adjoining which is a children's play area. The attentiveness of the staff for service and the speed of service was amongst the best we have ever experienced. We sat in on the Terrace although there is large indoor area too. The food was good - we both had the Schwein schnitzel which was well cooked and supported by a large and varied salad and French Fries. The Alcohol Free Beer was the best I have tasted.

We are a small family-run restaurant with attached hotel. Our cuisine serves fresh dishes with a French accent. All rooms are bright and comfortable. They have balcony with mountain view as well as new bathrooms with rain shower, raised toilet, hairdryer, soap and shampoo.
This is a lovely hotel we visited for a lunch break. The food we had was lovely and the lady attending us was friendly and spoke excellent English

Arranged two evening meals here by our hotel. Both evenings were great fun, lots of singing, dancing and raising of glasses. The food was of good quality, lovely steak, the vegetarian option was cheesy pasta (macaroni cheese), only slight negative was no dessert, a little strudel wouldn't go amiss. I guess we'd been spoilt with our hotel meals being 4 courses.
All in all a great night out for the whole family, the entertainment was fun to watch and even more fun to dance the night away with.

Real Bavarian food is served here and of good quality and quantity. Nice traditional building and decor to match.
Plenty of pleasant staff most with good English. There is an English menu but some of the descriptions of food do need translating into understandable English, this is all part of the experience though. Prices are very reasonable and cheaper than our local pub in UK.

Excellent place to Eat and drink, a family run pub with a good menu, Friday is chicken and chips night and great coffee and cake in the afternoons, when playing golf in the summer or skiing in the winter, it's a good place to stop for a drink and food.
The family are very friendly, welcoming and English speaking.

Used this konditorei on several occasions, while on holiday in Ruhpolding, it's a great place. Great choice of coffee and cakes. The staff are very friendly and will describe what's in every cake, so you can get the right choice - also means you're more likely to return like we did!. Would recommend everything.
