The very large restaurant looks very fancy from outside. We went there to have a nice lunch. Waited about half an hour for the menu. Another 15 minutes for the waiter to take the orders. So after one hour we had a bottle of wine on the table together with two bottles of water. We waited for half an hour for the rest of the food and found out that the waiter forgot to order our food. So afre one and a half our we left the restaurant with a bottle of wine, no food and two small bottles of water paying 33 CHF (19 CHF which is for wine, the rest for water and bad service). You would not expect such an unprofessional treatment from a fancy restaurant.

Indeed what a quality of food and service. We took the chef's menu and really got the feeling the chef prepared the dishes himself. The tastes of all courses where so in balance with each other and so tinkling, that I was really impressed. The location itself is great overlooking Lake Constance, however the ambiance is not that causy, not my liking. To steril. But quality of service and food, which is the most important, certainly a place to recommend.

Sitzkissen unbedingt notwendig.

Finding this little gem proved a bit challenging. Though directly beside the church, it is nearly invisible from the street!
Advance booking essential - cozy and airy restaurant with much room between the (few) tables.
A huge thumbs-up for the great staff: friendly, efficient, yet unobstrusive.
Food was really good. Furthermore all dishes were very nicely presented, with much attention paid to details.
As starter I chose the wild herbs salad - simple, fresh and healthy. Stadthof is renowned for its fish. As main course I therefore opted for a trout fillet - grilled to perfection. A coffee creme brulee rounded up the tasty dinner.
The bill amounted to CHF97 - not cheap but definitely well worth it.
Advice for train travellers: the town has several stops. Get off at either Rorschach Stadt or Rorschach Hafen, rather than Rorschach main station.

I was invited for a business meeting and it was my first time in that restaurant and the experience was amazing.
Full course meal with explanation of each dish.
Service is beyond amazing, food quality is out of this world and the view is breathtaking.
I do recommend this restaurant and I hope I can go there very soon.

Nice restaurant, we sat outside as it was a warm day. Service was very good, Piña Colada very nice both alcoholic and non alcoholic varieties. Nachos good, but standard fare, excellent steak and nice selection of grilled vegetables to accompany it. A good meal overall.

I had an exquisite experience at the Gupf. The view, the more than delicious artisan food, hospitality and friendliness.
Even though that price-wise it is definitely not a backpacker friendly restaurant but we are talking fine dinning here! So if you are visiting this region I DO advise you to go this place. Personally I'd listed as an attraction!

What can be nicer than enjoying superb roasted chicken in a small, intimate restaurant which affords breath-taking views of the Lake of Constance and bordering Germany and Austria? Perhaps sitting outside in its garden on a warm summer evening.
The Treichli has a small but fine menu and the dishes are attractively served. The warm interior makes you feel almost like you are having dinner in someone’s home. And even if you aren’t able to bag a table at the front with that famous view, the ones in the back room are equally inviting.
The main room can get a bit loud, and parking is a challenge when the restaurant is full, so try to arrive early and enjoy an entire evening, savoring the relaxed atmosphere.

The Restaurant - Hotel de charme Romerhof is a small charming hotel that consists of 11 hotel rooms, Gourmet restaurant, 2 separate historic halls, Cigar Lounge and is located directly in the centre of the old town of Arbon only a few steps away from the Lake of Constance. Pamper yourself with some culinary delights in the Gourmet Restaurant with French and intentional Cuisine. The cosy atmosphere and attentive service render make it an unforgettable experience.
The Römerhof is located in the old part of Arbon town and the restaurant is simply but nicely decorated with clean, white rooms. The menu offers a selection of dishes including food reflecting the chef’s Mauritius heritage. All of the dishes were exquisitely presented; it was almost a shame to eat them. The food was also of very good quality.
The reason I didn’t award five stars is that the prices are quite high and somehow all of us felt that despite the quality of the food, it was too much to spend for a dinner. This is not to fault the service nor the cook – both were very friendly – but the total dining experience fell somewhat short of our expectations, considering the prices.

The storm I experienced in Lindau was memorable if not record breaking. I wanted to find the geographical location from where the black clouds had originated from. My map suggested Goldach in Switzerland. I joked with myself thinking that if they had added an "R" it will either be the entrance to a Citadel or a Mc Donalds restaurant. Lovely location. Remote viewing rules ok.
