We were visiting Rattenberg for the day and decided to eat at the Café Malerwinkel. It's just off the main street where all the tourists go in a quiet alley (with a good view). The weather was hot and we decided to eat outside on the Terrace.
We only had a snack and a beer, but the cheese soup was outstanding and it was beautifully presented (with tiny bread sticks wrapped in Palma ham).
The service was perfect and very friendly (as it almost always is in this part of the Tyrol). We went inside to look round. This restaurant has some of the most amazing dining rooms I've ever seen - they look as if they've been hacked out of the surrounding stone. It's also immaculately decorated and very clean.
We saw other people's food (who were eating more than us) and the presentation also looked immaculate. We will go back.
On our way out, we complemented the staff and we were invited to use the lift to the top floor where there's an open Terrace with a view across the medieval town. Our lucky day.

We came here for dinner and decided to treat ourselves. Very traditional, posh place with an upmarket atmosphere. Still we decided to splash out.
The food was very good and the service impeccable (thank you Torsten). For dessert tried the local delicacy on recommendation - cinnamon covered asparagus. Did not work for us, but nice to try something a bit different now and then.
Overall enjoyed the experience, albeit on the expensive side....

We visited zirmalm twice on a recent summer holiday to Alpbach region. Definitely one of our favourites. Pork fillet dish was to die for. My wife had cordon bleu which again was very good. On the second visit I sampled their beef stroganoff which was a well crafted dish. Waiting staff very pleasant and the setting to die for... they even had toys for the kids - highly recommended

Historic, comfortable, wood paneled dining rooms create an incomparable and genuine atmosphere at “Sigwart’s Tiroler Weinstuben” underscored by luscious, straight-forward cuisine which never loses sight of its Tyrolean roots.

The restaurant is in the centre of the village and it is a beautiful old building. Inside it is ccosy and welcoming. The food is overall traditional food and tastes great!. The service overall is good. I would recommend this restaurant for a nice meal with your family or a more romantic meal with your partner

Without doubt, one of the finest konditorei in the Tirol, located at the very heart of Rattenberg, a touristic paradise. The selection of pastries is enough to make you dribble in anticipation ! The owner gives a wonderful exhibition of how to make apple Strudel - I would volunteer to sample everyday ! It was simply sublime

We just went in because we suddenly got hungry and it looked appealing from the outside.
Since it was a rainy day, there were not much visitors and we easily got a place. The service was nice and fast and soon after placing our orders we got surfed.
There was nothing to complain about. The food was good and not too high priced. Actually, we expected higher prices for such a touristy spot.

The food and service are excellent. What I enjoy the most is how it captures Austrian spirit with the antique furniture, traditional dress and Tyroler decorations. This is like walking back in time. A slower rhythm, traditional foods in a great setting. Worth the wait, or reserve in advance as it is oftern full during peak periods.

It's a shame that the bad service took away from the food, which was really pretty good. The server had us follow him to a table, but there were still other people there, which was awkward. When the others left, he seated us. After several minutes, he asked us to move because he needed the table. He seated us at another table which wasn't completely cleaned. After a long wait, he took our order and eventually brought our drinks. He didn't come back to our table until it was time for us to pay. Another server brought my wife's order. After at least 30 more minutes, my order was brought out by yet another server. We loved Rattenberg but would never, ever return to this restaurant.
