Fantastic food, amazing ocean view, and friendly, inviting staff. It's a bustling, open space of a restaurant, so it's for you if you're after intimacy. But for families on a lazy Sunday (especially if you plan on hitting the beach after), there's no place better. We've been going there for years...

I stopped here for lunch and I was recommended Tuna in a tomato sauce, by the very friendly waiter. I was not disappointed it was very tasty and all for 7€ ! Very impressed

During our stay in Punta Umbria, we ate at El Velero on 3 of the 6 nights. We kept returning because the food was excellent - although the menu is fish like most of the other places in town, El Velero's was tastier and better presented. We especially liked the grilled calamare (a la plancha) which was tender and sweet.
Service was friendly and prompt, even when the restaurant was crowded.

Took a day trip to this little beach town from Sevilla. I was determined to have great seafood on the water and this place did not disappoint. Clams are my favorite meal, and this place has multiple varieties that are served freshly sautéed in a pan with just garlic, parsley, and oil. The coquinas are the most tiny clams imaginable, the size of a fingernail, and they are so perfectly sweet. It was like heaven!

This restaurant is located near to the town centre where there are many eating places. My wife and I enjoyed dinner there on a Sunday evening. Didn't see any tourists in this busy restaurant which is probably a good sign. Good tasting prawns for starters and a lovely fish stew to follow. Has the feel,of a professionally run restaurant. Decent range of wines. Recommend

Con una nueva imagen, una carta renovada y las mismas ganas de siempre de hacerlo bien. Gestionado por profesionales con una larga trayectoria en el sector de la restauración de más de 50 años de experiencia. Servimos productos típicos de la zona siempre de primerísima calidad. Entre otros: pescados frescos del día, carnes ibéricas de nuestra sierra, raciones variadas, nuestros famosos chocos de Huelva, una amplia variedad de platos combinados, diferentes tipos de arroces con carabineros y bogavantes, mariscos de nuestras costas, una extensa bodega de vinos (incluyendo vinos D.O. Condado de Huelva) y postres elaborados artesanalmente a diario. Nuestras especialidades son las gambas blancas de Huelva, las coquinas de Punta Umbría, el jamón ibérico de Jabugo y, como no, el pescaito frito. We ate here several times during our stay in Punta Umbria. Of all the other restaurants that we tried, this was by far the best. We have been traveling to Spain for many years, and this restaurant surprised us by it's excellent quality, friendly service and great prices.
Possibly some of the best meals we have ever had in Spain.

By far the nicest place you can find along the coast line of Punta Umbria! Very tasty food and drinks...you just can't stop eating :) Nice ambiance, lots of happy people and the best friendly staff you can find!! Don't forget to taste the "coquinas" and drink one (or more) of their famous "mojito" with different fruit flavours, they are the best!! Thank you to all of the staff who put a big smile on my face that day! I enjoyed it so much and hope to come back one day!!!! Un beso de Belgica!

they have seafood on sale on Wednesdays. 1.50 per plate of prawns. Great price! Seafood are great. We went back again on Friday, love that place. Just be aware there are always lots of people there, be ready to wait for a table!
