The headlibe says it all; we booked a table and arrived on time to the restaurant where the chef refused to serve us, he worked too many hours that day he said.... he even yelled at the waitress who was trying to help us - dont go there this guy has no clue how to treat customers!

I ve been there last august, we were 2 couples and we decided to stay outside because the weather was beatiful. We ordered and there was a bit of waiting, we all got different starters and were very good especially the one with mozzarella and cured meats. I had a mixed grilled meats for main and portion was a bit too small of what i expected. House white wine was ok, price worked out a bit dear, not a disappointment though.

The DEVETAK family has been running the RESTAURANT since 1870. They offer to the customers homemade bread as well as pasta. The raw ingredients come from the family's farm on the Carso (Karst). The cuisine respects the borderland, Austrian-Central European culinary tradition merges with those of Slovenia and Italy. The menu varies according to the change of season and enumerates more than 800 wines from all over the world with particular attention on wines of the region. There are also 8 rooms with all comforts - all with a private and independent entrance, soundproof and designed in the Karst style (traditional wood and stone). Free Wi-fi connection.
We weren't planning a visit to this place but as a last minute decision we ended up going anyway. It turned out to be the best meal of our vacation!
First of all, I must give praise to the manager who was extremely friendly and helpful. He personally greated each one of us and entertained us as if we had been friends for years. This kind of hospitality is what I love about Italy, but sadly, it seems to be vanishing in more and more places.
The food was also exquisite. As a starter, I highly recommend the tarts with cheese and speck. This is one of the best starters I tasted in my life.
The duck breast with plums was also fantastic, as was the slow roasted rabbit.
We also tasted some good wines. I liked the nonchalance with which the owner brought us a bottle of wine at the table even if we ordered just a glass and then at the end of the night he just asked if we had any refills. In this time of general distrust, it was a welcome anomaly.
The restaurant has an amazingly stocked wine cellar from which you can buy any bottle at extremely competitive prices.
Altogether, I must recommend this place highly, especially to those who look for something more than just a meal. It was an experience to remember.

We had an amazing evening at Alla Luna. The food is quirky as is the setting and staff. It is not a quick eat so you need to sit back, relax and take your time but it is worth the wait. The portions are small but great quality and reasonably priced so would recommend having a few courses.

In the heart of Collio, the restaurant is located in a building dating from 1700, with typical Cormonese architectonical structure. It has a delightful terrace-garden. The cuisine is inspired by Central European cooking and of high quality. Wide wine choice with special attention to local wine-growers.
Every dining experience here is simply divine. The food and presentation, the ambience, and the family who have created and oversea this gem are to be commended.Whether you cosy up by the fire or sit in the larger of the two rooms there is an understated casual elegance that pervades the atmosphere here. No missteps on this menu or their wine list. Your host will graciously help you navigate the offerings and ensure a wonderful dining experience

My third visit to Al Postiglione in 7 years only proved it again: this place is bound to be one of the best restaurants in the FriuliMy area! I have experienced three different owners now, and I can say that Francisco definitely proved to be the best host: wonderful dishes (needless to say that his Paraguay roots can be traced in wonderfully prepared meat variations), paired with a warm and friendly way of making you feel "at home". The fire place was crackling, and everyone made it a
special night for us. I recommend to let Francisco recommend a menu... And, of course, to enjoy the great selection of Perusini wines.

The food is good, but considering other reviews I expected a more elaborated set of dishes. We got a 7 course menu, starting with a set of amuse bouches with very raw and straight forward tastes. The second course was a set of raw fish, even though the tastes were rather boring. Next was a kind of consommé or fish soup with some scallops, which was a tasty dish. The chef then prepared a combination of mashed potatoes with truffles and egg yolk, which was a really well executed dish, but nothing really new. We continued with a risotto with shrimp and ended with some tuna and lemon mashed potatoes. Before the dessert we got some sorbet which cleansed the mouth really well. The dessert was a combination of panettone, creme anglaise and crumble.
The wine list is ok, even though I didn't get the feeling that the chef was able to recommend the appropriate wine to his dishes. Overall it was a pleasurable experience. I missed more feedback from the chef, who could use a little more imagination. The biggest drawback was definitely the price. There were 4 of us. Each of us had a 7 course menu, we started with a glass of sparkling wine and had two bottles of wine (both from 2014, if I remember well) and the final price was around 280 euros, which in my opinion was just too much for the food we ate and the wine we drank. I would definitely recommend the chef to to get out of his comfort zone and deliver bolder combinations, especially if he wants to charge that amount of money.

We have eaten in 20 plus restaurants in Grado and this is where you will get the best Pizza .They make the dough and cook in a tradional oven. It is also a very good restaurant serving local specialities. This is always fully booked so do book or arrive by 7 pm .

T he agricultural farm with the attached old trattoria Ferreghini is located in the farthest northern tip of the D.O.C. Territory of Collio. It was established in 1871, under the Austro-Hungarian Empire, by Giovanni and Virginia.
One of the best restaurants I have eaten in in the Friuli area. Excellent primi piatti where the chef Roberto really lets loose his flair. The wines are his and compliment the meal very well.

We visited this agritourism restaurant on the recommendation of the friend who is a local.
It was a bit hard to find (we passed by it 2 items until on the 3rd time we spotted the sign leading to this tiny street with not enough parking space). The parking is a problem, as you have to find the space in the main street.
The Terrace was nice, so I imagine it is quite comfortable in the summer.
Indoor Seating area lacks atmosphere.
Food is average, really.
Nice thing was the pumpkin bread - other types of bread are also quite good, as they are home-made.
As antipasto, we opted for the large plate of mixed salami, and pickled veggies, accompanied with a glass of Terrano (red wine) - and that was excellent.
Then we had pasta: pumpkin gnocchi with butter and sage (gnocchi di zucca con burro e salvia), bread gnocchi with mushrooms, and lasagne.
The first one was interesting, and decisively the best of all three. Other ones were just... average, plain, really.
Then, main dish: mixed plate of grilled meat, with patate in tecia and sauerkraut - less than average.
Dessert: we chose tiramisu and yogurt cream cup. Not bad, both of them.
They have their own vine, and although we tried the their Chardonnay, it was somehow too sour and it didn't accompany the pasta dishes very well - while the red wine Terrano was of very good quality.
The service was slow (the restaurant was full, and I noticed that mainly jota and patate in tecia were ordered, rarely something else), but friendly.
The price was average for this area (3 of us and 60 € total), but I don't think I will be visiting them again. The local, rustic, countryside taste of the food and atmosphere was just... missing.
