Beautiful building small and intimate interior suitable for couples and mainly adults wishing to enjoy freshly prepared food with friendly service
Forget past negative reviews. Since new owners Debbie and co have taken over this delightful little restaurant and now in their second season, this is the best place to eat in Polperro without question. I have wined and dined in a lot of top restaurants over the years and having booked The Kitchen for myself and partner for a weekend break we were looking forward to seeing what the place offered. On arrival we were greeted to quite a packed restaurant and shown to our table. A few minutes later the waitress arrived with the wine list and menu. The wines were of very good choice and we settled for a vintage French Flurie which was excellent to compliment the fillet steak I ordered. For starters I had local Fowey mussels which were the best i have ever tasted and very large and melted in the mouth. The medium rare fillet steak was cooked to perfection and the presentation of dishes were superb. The texture, taste and cut were of premium quality and overall one of the nicest steaks I have ever tasted. My partner had lamb shanks which were just as perfectly cooked. This was a very surprising treat for us both and thoroughly enjoyed it from beginning to end. I cannot rate this restaurant highly enough and recommend it as the best place to eat for adults and couples. Top class food in a lovely setting.

Couch's Great House Restaurant is situated in the heart , on the river, of the quaint fishing village of Polperro. The Restaurant itself is an amalgam of Cornish old world charm with Macintosh influenced modern furnishings and wood burning style stoves, conducive for a comfortable, spacious and relaxed evening.
We booked our Christmas Day lunch in this lovely restaurant early in the year - and we were so pleased that we did! We walked into a warm and welcoming place - a real fire adding to the atmosphere. The tables looked really festive, beautiful linen and sparkly crackers added to the look. We were a family of 6 and we were so well looked after by the friendly and efficient staff. The food was delicious and we were able to choose from the Christmas menu and not have to pre-book the food choices. Really enjoyed the whole experience. Their everyday menu looked great too - if you're in the area make sure you visit.

We recently visited Nelsons whilst on holiday in Polperro. We regularly visit Polperro usually about twice a year for about the last 5 years but even though we always walk past Nelsons we had never ventured inside, what a mistake that was. This restaurant is fantastic, the food and service is second to none, my partner and I eat out a lot and the quality of food here is excellent. We look forward to our next visit to Polperro hopefully in March next year and we definitely look forward to several more meals at Nelsons.

A visit to the Blue Peter is always a highlight of any visit to Polperro. On a short weekend break we managed two trips to the 'Blue', an evening meal and Sunday Lunch.
As always a high standard of excellent fish selected to make an excellent curry - highly recommended.
Sunday lunch was as everything you would wish for in a traditional Sunday Lunch in a convivial atmosphere a mixture of locals, many with their dogs and visitors. The roast Pork was succulent and came with a large selection of vegetables and a perfect gravy.

The Polmary is a family friendly restaurant serving traditional English cuisine with gluten free options. We love well behaved dogs. Open for longer during the school holidays.
One of the cheapest places for a cream tea in Polpero - I think it was £3.50 - 2 large scones, jam and cream and a choice of teas. I had Earl Grey and it came in a teapot with an extra pot of hot water. Very tasty and nice to sit outside and watch the world go by. Definitely worth a visit.

Called in for afternoon lunch on Sunday - no tables but friendly welcome told we could wait at the bar - table free almost immediately. Great choice from the menu - great to see five choices for vegetarians as well. Steak & kidney pie (mash topping) was great.

Our Restaurant is designed to give an authentic Thai garden ambience with lots of artifacts to enhance this. We have 30 covers inside and 8 on our outside Terrace. Our restaurant is cosy and friendly and we strive to welcome and put all our diners at ease. Our waiting staff are English and young. They have a detailed knowledge of Thai food and can help and advise on choices where appropriate. Our Chef and Assistant Chefs are Thai and have a lifetime of experience in preparing and cooking their native food. While we welcome young children there is no room inside the restaurant for prams or pushchairs, so they will have to be left outside. If the restaurant is quiet we reserve the right to close early, it is always advisable to telephone in advance to make a reservation.
Visited the Ocean and Earth on a Sunday night in late November. We had been before on our last holiday and decided to visit again this year. The restaurant was quiet but that is fairly indicative of going out of season in Cornwall.
On arrival, we were presented with a complimentary bowl of prawn crackers. These were delicious so we ordered another bowl. For starters we ordered Nua Tod Grob (crispy beef - fantastic) and Beek Gai Gratiem (chicken wings - beautiful). We had 2 stir fry mains with Jasmine rice. Both very tasty and generous portion sizes. And washed with a couple of large bottles of Singha Thai beer.
Overall, a great meal matched by great service. The staff were really accommodating and friendly. So nice that we have booked in to come again later in the week.
Definitely recommended.

We offer comfortable and cosy B&B and self catering accommodation at the Inn where you can enjoy a great selection of local Cornish real ales, beers, wines, spirits, soft drinks and hot drinks in a comfortable and cosy oldy worldy pub atmosphere. Our freshly cooked, homemade food is served all day until 9pm at night and includes breakfast, cream teas and a specials board featuring our team of chefs' specials of the day including local fish dishes.
We stayed in one of the dog friendly suites and were made to feel very welcome with our pooch. The accommodation was lovely, clean and had everything we needed. We had an excellent meal on the night we arrived and the breakfast was lovely too - very friendly service and a tasty cooked breakfast. As a vegetarian there was plenty of choice both for evening meals and breakfast. All in all we couldn't fault anything and are looking forward to our next visit!

Larsson's Coffee House and Creperie is both the name and description. For those who have not visited France, The crepe is rather like the Breton version of the Pasty. It is delicious with either sweet or savoury fillings. The coffee is made with care and respect. Although we do also serve tea and non-standard alcholic beverages. Basically, it is what the owner personally likes and hopes that his guests share his taste.
Went there on a miserable wet day in Looe, so glad we did, the coffee and crepes were excellent as was the service, nice and laid back, didn't feel hurried, absolutely perfect star to the day, could of sat in there for ages.
Brilliant place Mr Larson, and thank you.
