A cosy restaurant, when you enter, you think you go back 20 years, to a time where good service and well cooked food was important. This restaurant reminds me of how real Italian food always should taste. Excellent service combined with the rich taste of genuine Italian dishes, from main course to dessert, gives this a high score.
Everyone who doesn't pay this restaurant a visit, will really miss something.
Thank you, Taverna 58, for showing us who real Italian food should taste...

L Ristorante Regina Elena is located in the heart of the city just a few steps from the sea, the Director Gianni Olivieri is happy to welcome you in an environment at the same time simple and elegant, with a professional and attentive service but not intrusive, and a free and imaginative cuisine that builds on the combinations of quality fish and unusual ingredients with more than satisfactory results from the point of view of the presentation and taste, which preserves the quality of superfine seafaring tradition, giving birth to lighter dishes but can enhance the flavors and tastes of our land. The food is excellent, the flavors are enhanced and the menu is extensive and fun among the specialties shellfish and fish on the high seas, provided by small local fishing boats from which the restaurant uses in total respect of the quality of the raw material. The winery specializes in the selection of winemakers from Abruzzo but offers a selection of labels of the most renowned wineries in Italy and abroad.
We went into this restaurant because they offered express lunch. What a great meal. All was included in the price. We had the most delicious octopus starter. Pasta for main and tiramisu for dessert. Sparkling wine was served together with all courses.

Aperto Tutti I Giorni Fino Al 07 Gennaio 2018
This restaurant is such a gem. Great food (my favorite clam pasta ever!!), nice setting and friendly service. It was interesting that the chef always comes out to take the order and he was also the one who took the payment. In fact, we were waiting to pay at the cashier because the chef was cooking in the kitchen (which by the way, we didn't mind at all.) We just found it funny; maybe that's his way to keep close watch on the quality of the food and service. We'll be back again Chef Carlo!!

Having been to various fish restaurants in Pescara this one has now wow factor as far as the location is concerned being in the back streets, however the big wow factor is the food. In my opinion this is the best fish resturant I have ever been to! Various fresh fish cooked in every conceivable way. A great atmosphere fantastic service all add to a great experience. Don't be put off by the back street location, try this place for an exceptional fish meal.

We had the pleasure of having an excellent variety of food and wine presented by a friendly, yet polite service. It was more then just a dinner. We had a personal experience thanks to the very attentive, English speaking staff. Can't wait for our next visit.

Diavolo Aqua Santa, a wonderful view of the city and valley below. There were a few tables for couples as most of the restaurant was given over to an 18th birthday celebration. The owner was very friendly and helpful. He was born in New York but moved back to Italy with his Italian parents when he was nine years old. We shared a first course of pasta and a main course of Argentine beef tagliata, some french fried potatoes, and a rich chocolate torte. Of course we accompanied this with a nice bottle of the local red wine. We watched the young Italian couples courting and the family gathering of about 40 persons enjoying themselves and each other’s company. highly recommended.

If you want to taste real authentic fresh fish in Pescara, cooked in a simple and classical local way, you need to come here. There is no menu. You will be offered a selection of fish appetizers of the day and if these won-t be enough you can add a first or a second dish. A first one will be past with seafood sauces: only 2 types of pasta are offered, spaghetti or "maniche" (big format pasta with a hole that nicely collects sauce). The second dishes are usually fried seafood with small fishes or fish in oven with potatoes. The restaurant relies on the supplies of the fresh fish of the day. It is a family-run small restaurant and the owner is a fisherman's child while his wife runs the kitchen and his daughter serves the tables. The tastes are simple and genuine and the place will introduce you to what classical fish osteria offers in Pescara region. Very positive experience, with a roughly 50 euro per person with wine. Check out on the desserts of the day, all freshly cooked here.

Kind of alternative for the local average with electro-swing music in the background. Informal attitude.
As for the food, yes, the "Pallotte" (egg and cheese balls in a tomato sauce) were very tasty (and an interesting alternative to the usual meat balls); the rest of the dishes were pleasant enough, although not memorable.
As for the service, it was really amicable and welcoming at the beginning with our waitress but once she left, they basically forgot about us altogether.
The potentials are there.. But this experience hasn't quite done it for me.

DS and I went down to Pescara for a walk along the beachfront and decided on fish for supper. We wanted to avoid all the beachfront restaurants and so walked inland from the beach and stumbled upon this little place just by chance. The chap behind the bar wanted to know if we had found the restaurant through TA but 'no' we said, 'we just found you through walking the streets'. They don't sell fish but we were persuaded by the promise of home cooked food so we were provided with a table in a little dinning area at the back of the Trattoria which is small, but nicely laid out. It is also air conditioned which was great on a humid and hot evening. The only small irritation was the overly large TV which was on and slightly annoying. But like the rest of Mediterranean Europe TV's are ubiquitous in restaurants.
Anyway to the food. I had a melon starter with prosciutto which was divine. The melon was sweet as anything and the prosciutto tasty. We decided against pasta which we were told was freshly made and went straight for secondo's. DS had sausages which again were very very tasty and I had 10 arrosticini (small kebabs to you and I ) which were sublime. Add to that a plate of tasty tomatoes (sadly lacking in the UK), freshly cut and cooked fries, fried aubergines and zucchini, we were in heaven. The house wine was smooth and delicious and a 1/2 litre set us back just 2.4€!!!!!! A litre was €4.80! Why can't we have these sorts of prices in the UK! It's so frustrating that we must pay over £15.00 for a mediocre house wine! And that makes a UK dining experience so expensive.
The waiters were lovely and friendly, everything about this trattoria is outstanding. Highly recommended. If we are ever back in this area we will definitely dine here again. You will not be disappointed!!!!
