This restaurant has the best location possible. Right on the beach and sitting outside in perfect weather cannot be beaten. The menu is not very extensive, but everything is freshly prepared. Ask the waiter for recommendations and she was quick the recommend food as well as the best craft beer. We even went back for a second visit during our 3 day stay in Paternoster. The restaurant has an all day 'buzz' that is difficult to find at the other places in town!

Our listed hours is Seating times. We are open for a local beer or West coast wine all day where you can sit under the umbrellas and stare at the sea. We bring you a unique dining experience.. Explore the Paternoster beach and nestled amongst the rocks, you will find a simple white-washed fisherman's cottage. This 80 year old building, known as 'Gaaitjie' has a warm, nostalgic atmosphere, true to its heritage. This unique atmosphere of tradition and comfort has inspired an eclectic menu featuring local produce, fused with contemporary and Asian influences. Our food is unpretentious and made with love, using sustainable fresh local produce as far as possible. Our décor is modest and comfortable and our unique location promises spectacular views to compliment a memorable dining experience.
Wonderful service and delicious food! This restaurant’s location is hard to beat, right on the beach with magnificent views. We thoroughly enjoyed our lunch here - calamari, mussels and masala prawns - all cooked to perfection. And the homemade potbrood was heaven! Not to be missed when visiting Paternoster. Highly recommend.

A friendly family restaurant serving delicious pizzas, burgers and seafood at reasonable prices. View to die for!
Not expensive but still poor. Very greasy calamari with a tinned feta and olive salad and a pizza with no tomato base, processed cheese and pineapple/ham from tin.
Lovely spot with a lovely view but wouldn’t go back.

Chef Kobus van der Merwe may still be involved in the menu, but his focus is now on Wolfgat, a restaurant in the same town. Oep ve Koep's restaurant feels rather lost now, with empty tables, a neglected garden, hesitant service, and a menu that fails to excite. The quality of the individual dishes remains good.

At The Square Spoon we aim to marry "East with West" African style. Namely West Coast (South Africa) to East Coast (Mozambique) So on our menu there are dishes of both! We also cater for vegetarians and vegans! Come and enjoy!
We were staying in a house on the beach and walked to this fantastic restaurant along the beach so really fun

A restaurant serving seafood, sushi and a variety of international type dishes!Stunning views and ambience. Friendly staff and excellent food!
We watched local small fishing boats come in during a late afternoon dinner. Great staff and prawns!! Great view! Kitchen is satisfactory. Calamari was ok but we learned that the South African squid all gets exported to Europe and lesser quality calamari gets brought in from elsewhere.

My first visit here, was just for a light snack and a coffee. The location is stunning with views across the Bay. The food I had was fine, my only slight concern was the lack of staff.
