We only stayed one night, but the staff were really helpful and the views were brilliant. We ate in the restaurant and the food was delicious and not overly priced, which was a great change.
The rooms were large and comfortable again with wonderful views over the harbour entrance.
The only downside was breakfast....not much choice, but it filled a gap.

When you get to the harbor in Oudeschild, park the car, climb the stairs over the dike, walk into the street right ahead of you. Visit the museum on your left, or keep on walking. Take the first street on the right... 20meters further... There you are, if you want excellent fish, some history about the village and the Fish Market, or just a nice place to sit down and relax.

Many line up for fresh kibbeling (fish portion of fish and chips) but I am here for nieuwe herring, a delicious smoked gurnard (rode poon) and ultra fresh sprats and eel (paling). Combined with a bottle of texelse dark beer and the bright sun, and suddenly you will realize you are in the (Dutch) Riviera

On one of the prettiest places on the island, with an extraordinary view at the port of Oudeschild, you will find fish restaurant 't Pakhuus. Fish lovers will definitely love it here; the menu offers a large variety of fresh fish, seafood and shellfish, often from the North- or Waddensea. Obviously 't Pakhuus also offers some wonderful meat dishes and vegetarian food is also possible. We look forward to welcoming you on the port for a surprise menu with matching wines, an a la carte dish, a '' simple '' or complete lunch or a cup of coffee with home-made apple pie. Fish Restaurant 't Pakhuus is open all year, 7 days a week
Nicely situated in an old warehouse in the harbour of Oudeschild. Very friendly and attentive staff. And most importantly delicious food!! We had the 3 course menu for €36.50 which is quite cheap for the excellent quality (and large portions). Definitely will come back here. It would not surprise me if 't Pakhuus receives a michelin star in the future.

This is conveniently located along one of Den Helder's main streets. It was sunny and relatively warm outside, which made for a nice, relaxing atmosphere as I enjoyed my house burger on the Terrace situated on the dividing median. Recommend the local beer (Texels). Good experience, friendly service.

The restaurant has perfect location with great views from harbour. Service is fast and friendly. I guess we were a bit unlucky with the food choice. Most of us choose lamb curry and it was very bland.

We were here just for cafe. It was dinner time as we went into the restaurant for a cafe. Because of this we were first wrongly placed and as we ordered only cafe we were asked to go to another table. The reason for this was that this table was prepared for dinner.
It was the first restaurant I made this experience. Besides this the service was friendly and fast. The restaurant itself looks clean but old fashioned.

We came here twice during our holiday. The staff are really friendly and there's a nice atmosphere. Nice location at the quayside - watch the ships come and go! Food is nothing special, but nice enough.

I was bumming around Oudeschild on a Sunday and many places were closed. However, this place was recommended in my Lonely Planet guide and I noticed it was open. I'm glad it was. Although I was out of my depth as this is a authentic Dutch spot, the staff couldn't been nicer, and helped me navigate to some fried shrimp and frites. The woman that helped me at the busy counter even sought me out to make sure the odd duck American was all set. It was a very filling, delicious lunch and it was just under 10€. Probably the best fried shrimp I've ever had.
The restaurant is located in the main wharf area. You order at the cashier, wait for your buzzer to go off when your food is ready, and find a table/seat yourself. There is both indoor and outdoor Seating. The place, not surprisingly as it is on the water, is known for their fried seafood. This place is a keeper.
Also, as an FYI, next door there is a cute shop selling items made in Texel, like cheese, salt, and wool. Worth a peek.

Verse vis eten?
Kibbeling, broodje garnalen, gefrituurde inktvisringen, allemaal even lekker.
Bewonder terwijl je vis bereidt wordt hun grote zeeaquarium met zandhaaien en murenen.
Aanrader.
