A bit out of the crowded restaurant area on the harbour, 5 minutes walk in the climbing in the small pittoresk streets appear a garden of taste ... This restaurant is just excellent for the quality of food, the traditional dishes and the service ... Family owned, all dishes are excellent : try in particular the lamb and the stifado. Deserves really a visit ...

This gastronomic journey began in 1953 in the picturesque amphitheatrical village of Glossa, on Skopelos. That year, grandmother Aglaia Stamataki and her son Nikos (grandfather of the present owner) set up a tavern that they named "Gallia" (France), to appeal to the few French tourists who visited the island at that time. In 1985, the little taverna changed its name and was rebaptized "Agnanti" (meaning "view"), to reflect its beautiful aspect over the Aegean. It was around that time that Agnanti passed into the hands of the children of grandfather Nikos: Stamatis and Mahoula Stamatakis. With their wonderful, well-prepared recipes, Agnanti immediately made an impression and gained a great reputation on the island. Their son, Nikos, knew no other life when growing up, other than Agnanti. He helped out doing little chores and entered at a very young age into the world of the magical flavors his parents created. From an early age Nikos decided that he, too, wanted to devote himself to Agnanti. The dream became a reality and Nikos has now taken on the running of Agnanti. Handed from generation to generation, Nikos feels that Agnanti is a wonderful inheritance. Honoring family tradition, he has further developed Agnanti, putting his own gastronomical stamp on today's restaurant. And so it is that little tavern that opened in 1953 has today become a great modern restaurant without losing any of its atmosphere and originality. Everyone who visits Agnanti today becomes a faithful friend. And it is these friends who, with their love and patronage, continue to write Agnanti's history.
Visited for a birthday dinner it was our second time there.
We had a wonderful night the staff team are very professional and attentive..and the whole restaurant sang happy birthday and presented a cake with a candle so no complaints there.
The food was interesting different from usual Greek fare and some was delicious .
I really enjoyed my starter of spinach lsamphire and capers and the beetroot salad was another hit.
The mains of pork was very good .I can't remember the other 2 main courses not they were just ok.
I feel Agnantj is a good restaurants offering something different and unusual and the view on our balcony seats is magical.Worth a visit if your in Glossa.

In 2014 we relocated within the heart of Skopelos Town, creating a tavern that follows the traditional style of the "tsipouradiko". With a small, but with quality, menu, we deliver a carefree and heartwarming atmosphere for your holidays.
When visiting the Greek Islands we lok to eat in traditional tavernas and not the ones in te tourist areas or with pictures on their menus!
It was therefore necessary to put Finikas ( means palm tree i believe) on our list of places to eat in he evening
On arrival we were met with a very warm welcome and took up the second to last table available, the last being taken a few minutes later
Food was delicious and we can highly recommend the meatballs from the meze menu as a starter and of course the pork rolled in apple and plums which was, and appears to always be, the special
The one downside, we were told the pork was served with salad and potatoes.it came with chips which were very soggy as they were sitting in the gravy. I would ask for my chips on a side dish or perhaps potatoes instead.
House rose was great and cery good value
Yup, we would return to try different items from the menu
Go along expecting a very traditional atmosphere and food and you will leave very happy and with a number of euros still in your pocket!

At extremely short notice–30 minutes, the owner and staff of Limnonari were able to provide us with a wonderful supper spread to near 50 people after our 8 boat flotilla sailed into the bay in July 2017. The wonderful local dishes were excellent, the drink plentiful and the environ amenable. I can't rate the staff and service highly enough!

Louki is up the mountain, from the Taxi Stand in Glossa, but worth the climb. It is the most reasonably priced cafe for Souvlaki in the area. Our 8 year old girls chose Louki almost daily for what they called "Chicken on a Stick." It is a small but the food is good and the view of the sea is wonderful.

"Aramis Snack Bar Cafe" is a family business. The secret of our success lies in the high quality services we offer.Mother Niki, the heart & soul of Aramis,is more than happy to prepare for you her famous traditional cheese-pie in Scopelos Island & her ekmek, a super-delicious sweet,a treat for for palate. We offer breakfast,Italian & Greek traditional cuisine),illy coffee, sweets & ice cream
I had a drink here after a long walk. I just had met an English couple who had recommended this place as a friendly family business. And it was. I had a bottle of retsina here while taking time to read in a book. I was being served by one of the friendly daughters. It is a chill place. You can look at the sea and watch the Ferries leave or arrive.

It's the 4th consecutive year that we eat at this restaurant in Glossa port of Skopelos. Needless to comment the magnificent view and best sunset experience in Skopelos island ! Homemade dishes by Mrs Andromachi maintain this restaurant at top ranking on this island. Try oven bake scorpion fish with plums (skorpina or tsipoura plaki). That's the best choice ! Very good home bottled wine and delicious Pana cotta are also preferred choices. Highly recommend !

This is the place for celebrating special events in your life or for just treating yourself with an extraordinary restaurant experience. Everything is right here. The food, the ambience, atmospere, service, the people...
If I would have to choose only one restaurant to come back to at Skopelos, this would be the one.

Lovely people. Lovely restuarant. Lovely area. The food was lovely. We tried the pancakes, my other half had Greek crepe, a Greek salad in a crepe. Very filling and nice. This was five euro, worth it!
I had a crepe with lemon and sugar with bananas, very filling and also very nice. There were lots of things that could be added to the mix. Sorry no pics.
Genuinely would visit here again. Bit quieter than the other tavernas. Plenty of parking spaces.

Up front: the food was decent down to earth greek food. Fresh fish an seefood provided by the namesaked Captain , friendly people and swift service.
So a rating of 3-4 goes in order.
The setting so and the furniture has seen better times . The tables and chaires outside definitly were on the practical side, the outside yard sligtly to concreted , ... in short: a good restaurant but a distinctiv lack of atmosphere.
