Located 35 miles south of Brussels, military buffs will find a rich history in Mons, the capital of the Province of Hainaut. British and German troops occupied Mons in 1914 during World War I, yet the city also has ruins dating back to the ancient Romans. Must-sees in Mons, include its Gothic style townhall; The Belfry, a World Heritage UNESCO site; The Collegiate Church of Sainte-Waudru, and the Decorative Arts Museum François Duesberg with its unique and prestigious clock collection. Van Gogh even lived in Mons for a time, and Van Gogh’s house is preserved and open to the public.

Lovely place, fantastic atmosphere. Food is a bit disappointing. (lack of originality in comparison with the "décor"). Nice place to go with a group of friends

OK, I am not a massive fan of salads. But this place has made me change my mind.
First, the concept of food made with finest local ingredients, organic as possible, great ambience, natural and organic drinks ( and yes they do have beers, wine and more) and a great selection of salads. For those fussy eaters they can change or replace ingredients as needed. The specials are really special too. The Gargantuan salad lived up to his name and was really big. Dressing not overwhelming, right balance of ingredients. Desserts were to die for. I also liked their hot chocolate-hot amaretto-home made whipped cream toddy. Definitely recommend and will be back!

Best restaurant we found in Mons. Definitely worth a try. Modern decor, comfortable chairs, nice view of the kitchen. Gastronomy at its best. Outstanding service. Very professional and knowledgeable, yet friendly staff. Everything was absolutely divine. Very good bread and raw milk butter. A few extra goodies here and there. There was a problem with the credit card system, but staff was very helpful in finding a solution, and apologetic. I highly recommend this place.

A cosy restaurant specialising in cassoulet. I had a cassoulet which contained three different sorts of pork, lamb, quail and chorizo. Really tasty and extremely filling. My wife had duck with vegetables which again was a substantial portion and beautifully cooked. At €16.50 and €19.50 respectively both were very reasonably priced.Service was efficient.

What a great place! We had a fantastic diner, really a gastronomic experience. Sophisticated associations of high quality ingredients, very nice presentation of dishes. And the staff was so friendly and flexible: we were allowed to choose for 2 starters instead of a starter & main; one of us came in 30 min later than the others but they ensured she would still be served at the same time; and they let us stay until very late without showing any sign of impatience to see us leave.
This was a wonderful experience and I'd come back to Mons just to be back and try the rest of the menu.

Just outside the main square in Mons, this place was thriving and had great reviews.
Service was excellent and I felt welcomed. Some waiters can speak English but not all, so French is needed.
Recommendations and additional extras were offered and these were great. The food itself was good quality and tasty, and at a reasonable price. Outdoor Seating is available and has a nice view.
Definitely worth a visit if you're passing.

We have been waiting for the opportunity to try this newer Italian restaurant since it opened last summer. Great little place with personalized service. The host / cook team work in tandem to make you feel welcome and comfortable. The standard Italian fare is available but the cook will have fresh and tasty suggestions for you to try. We were very happy with the food, the atmosphere, and the price. We will definitely be back!
