Every time I can I eat at this restaurant. It's my favorite for a seafood delight. The “Mariscada” is the best dish and it consists of a plate filled with seafood (for 2 persons). Clam, crabs, shrimp, barnacles, and much more. All in the same plate and very well prepared. The price (50€) is amazingly fair for what it offers.
I recommend this restaurant to any foreigner that happens to be in the north of Spain and can come to La Guardia. Especially if you like seafood but you don't live close to the shore where you can have it more often. If that is so you are in for a treat that you won't forget.

Taperia-Restaurant heated, with a family atmosphere and long tradition in La Guardia (Founded in 1960). It has an extensive menu of tapas and homemade specialties, and an extensive wine list. We characterized our family deal with the client trying that he feels like in home.
We had a really tasty meal at this restaurant. It opens at 8:30pm and by 9:30 it was pretty full, mostly with locals. The octopus, calamari and turbot were well presented and delicious. The service was very friendly and helpful and we were even given cilantro liqueur - a most delicious digestif!

Wow - what an amazing restaurant if you are a hearty eater! I have never seen such large portions at such a reasonable price. We decided that the tbone steak looked nice at 17 euros each - we were told that they were very big and really one between two was enough - and it certainly was! Looking at other tables it seemed that the food was beautifully served and plentiful

Our Backroads hiking group stopped here for lunch as we were hiking the Camino. We had the pleasure of sitting on their open-air upper deck, so we had a view of the Atlantic Ocean. Lunch was served family-style; we had salad, fresh rustic bread, clams,...MoreBuenos días, encantados de que les hubiese gustado. Muchas Gracias por la visita y por el comentario. Un saludo

Alborada Restaurant was opened in 1980 and it has belonged to the same family since then. Made at home typical Galician food. Our specialities are based on fish and seafood from Galician Coast: lobster with rice, scallops and shirmps with rice, mixed seafood barbecue, grilled razon clams, sword fish croquettes, clams and scallops in the Galician way, turbot with scallops and clams, fried and breaded monkfish ... And of course a great variety of Galician wines. A quiet restaurant with good food and attended by kind staff in a quiet and very nice village where you can enjoy of eating and resting. Welcome!!
We went here on the basis of the positive TA reviews specially to try the lobster and rice speciality. It didn't disappoint - generous in serving and delicious. The rest of the meal was equally good and the service very pleasant. Slightly meagre offerings in the 100ml glass of wine served, which made it pretty expensive compared to elsewhere.

We came here be accident as the restaurant we picked was closed.
A typical Portuges interior, very cosy.
As the name sugest a fish restaurant although the do offer meat dishes.
As starter we had.the gambas, prepared in oil and garlic, briljant.
Main this I had tje (grilled) sole and my wife the sea bass . Both very fresh and grilled to perfection.
Staff was friendly but didnt speak any english ( or any other language besides Portugese).
When going for.fish in Caminha we.can recommed this place.

Great rustic restaurant on the sea front, no thrills environment and quite loud with everyone chatting and a TV in top corner BUT wow what a great place to eat. We have been a few times, last time in April where we enjoyed a large portion of pulpo gallego, simply delicious, washed down with a glass of house vino blanco. It don't get better !!

The restaurant had been recommended by a friend and it lived up to the hype he had mentioned. This is a must restaurant if you are in A Guarda or nearby, both for the food and the service. The 4 of us in our group had one of the best afternoons of our trip in Casa Olga, despite the fact that it was storming outside.
The seafood is outstanding. We had lobsters and bogavante and two orders of merluza which was to die for. The fish was flaky, well seasoned and perfectly cooked. We also tried the percebes and were very well surprised. And the service, ah, the service...impeccable. Those people made us feel at home and treated us like family. Martina and the cook deserve kudos. We did not get to meet Olga but here that she is charming. We hope to get to meet her sometime. We did feel at home and spent a few hours drinking and eating like kings. It seems to be a bit pricey but everything else was sooo good and pleasing that you forget about it. It is well worth it.
We recommend this place for either lunch or dinner, hands down.
