We were here, as many of the reviewers, with a tour group for the Christmas feast dinner. I was quite impressed with the quality of all dishes especially the pork. Many of us went back for seconds. Well done and service and hospitality was super.

Kongensgade 34, hedder stedet. Pænt og rent interiør. Maden fremstillet af økologiske råvarer. Svingende kvalitet. Har oplevet at maden var ødelagt af for meget salt, kødet i burgeren har været så råt at det ikke kunne spises. Men også oplevet rigtig god og veltilrettet menuer.
Der serveres øl fra lokalt bryggeri, Rise Bryggeri.

Try a Guinness with black currant, top taste!
My daughter had pan fried "Roedspaette" (a flat fish) with parsley sauce and potatoes. The fish almost filled the entire dining plate.
I had the days menu: Poached cod, with caper sauce and potatoes. Very tasty, yum.
For dessert we had pancakes with blueberries and a lovely cream invented by the chef.
The restaurant is decorated througout with old tools, pictures and maritime themes.
Catch the ferry from Svendborg or Faaborg. On the island of Aeroe you can enjoy free bus rides. You can also take your car across, but it is pricey.

Great spot with good coffee and nice snack platters. Good pricing for Denmark (where we found everything to be pricey). Nice service and cosy. They made our wedding cake which was insanely delicious!
Wifi wasn't reliable though but that might have been a once or twice-off situation. Still giving it five stars! Thank you!

We stayed on the Island of Ærø last year in October, and at our wedding anniversery (43 years) we booked a dinner at Edith. It appeared that we were the only two guests that evening. The owner served the dinner and he was very informative about the food and the history of the house and made us feel comfortable even though we were the only guests in the restaurant.
The food was truly great and inspired by the modern Danish kitchen. Together with the wine menu it formed an excellent experience.
We chose different dishes from the set menu and tasted each other's food. All of it was perfect and the combinations were real well arranged.
A very highly recommended place - even worth a travel to Marstal.

Despite some good restaurants on the island, this was for us the very best food we had. Came back three times in 4 days (first day was closed). Try the mackerel, you won't be disappointed. Good local beer on tap, friendly people, cheap prices (compared to rest of the restaurants and cafes and considering the quality)

The restaurant is located directly on the waterfront in Marstal, Aero. - Right at the old ferry berth. The view is outstanding over the sea. You can see all the way to Langeland and some of the smaller Islands. On the Terrace you can watch the ships' entry and exit while you feel the harbor life. We try to get most of our raw material directly on the Island. The fish comes directly from the local fisherman and our meat comes from cattle reared on Aero. We strive to give our guests a delightful culinary experience - in wonderful surroundings - We'd love to have guests coming back, so it's really important that everyone feels comfortable. As a guest of the restaurant you are welcome to visit our lifestyle section, where we have a slightly different variety of articles, mostly related to the culinary world, the sea - and the maritime surroundings. We sell wonderful model ships and ships in bottles.
Really 3 1/2 stars, as this place is good, but not great. Not sure I would have picked it however, in the off season, for lunch, only two places were open in Marstal, this and the Chinese place. The Chinese place also served Danish food, and that combination just turned us off, so here we ended up. The location is scenic, right on the harbor. Menu is small for lunch, only a handful of fish dishes and beef tartar. We started with the Pumpkin soup, from the dinner menu, which they agreed to serve because it was a slow seller and they needed to move it. They said there aren't enough tourists in town now and that the Danish don't eat soup in restaurants, thus it was a problem for them. Anyway, we ate it and it was very good. How could you not order soup on a chilly autumn day? Wife ordered the open face fish "sampler" Sandwich, which included both steamed and fried plaice, smoked salmon (lox style), several shrimp and a crayfish along with a seaweed salad (which was sweet, think coleslaw). She enjoyed it all muchly. I tried the fish and chips, which was the same fried plaice that she had on her Sandwich plate. It was good'n tasty. Batter was really just breadcrumbs, not a true batter. The french fries were the best so far on this trip. Nice seasoned salt and very crisp. Had a decent wine list. Lots of variety, even if not necessarily all very high quality wines. We went with the local beer, made here on the island of Aero. She the IPA, me the Walnut beer, which seemed to be in the German Bock style. Waitress was extremely friendly.

We enjoyed eating at this restaurant because the service was exceptional (the waitress who was from Norway spoke perfect English), our fish dishes were prepared with delicate spices and cooked perfectly. The prices were extremely reasonable given how expensive most things are in Denmark. The outside eating area is romantic and peaceful. Also, the dining area inside the restaurant is elegant.

We happened upon this restaurant the other day as we were riding bikes through town. Inviting candles and smells of good food caught our attention. On a whim we decided to eat there and had a lovely meal for dinner! Cosy decor with fresh flowers and candles. Nothing like a traditional diner (not sure about the choice of name for the restaurant as it does not give the right impression for a cosy, quality restaurant.)
A kind young lady was an attentive and helpful waitress. Our meal was excellent - the French beef and the crispy Zander. Both well prepared with fresh veggies and potatoes. Rhubarb sauce and homemade ice cream for dessert. As long-term travelers, we mostly buy groceries as dining out can often be a disappointing waste of money, but not here! We were so happy to have had a really good meal at great value. Enjoy!
