This is one of my two most favorite Sushi Restaurants ever (the second one is in Singapore), The first time i went there and saw the restaurant from the outside I thought my friend is kidding me. You would not expect a restaurant like that in the middle of Magdeburg`s Olvenstedt and for sure you would not expect it in a house like that... (it looks like a former "Vereinsheim". But, once in there you will find this nice Chinese-Japanese Couple welcoming you very friendly. The lady is responsible for the service, the man is the sushi chef (for more than 40 years now! she once told me). She calls him the "Meister".
The sushi he is preparing is excellent! What the restaurant is lacking on atmosphere, she is making up with her friendlyness! And in winter they provide electric ovens.
If you live or are temporarily in Magdeburg and love excellent sushi, you should definitively go there!

We were lookin for a place for lunch on the way back from Berlin and Trip Advisor led us here. We're we're greeted in Italian and quickly seated. Able to easily order in broken German, with the waiter accommodating to our gluten free diet. The Chianti was outstanding, the food superb, and the service second to none!

Very good food - had some starters & main course, couldn't manage dessert. Steak was amazing, and cooked to perfection. Very well presented. Staff really attentive, speedy service, with a smile. It is quite expensive, but the quality is well worth it.

The Wenzel Prager Bierstuben are a unique gastronomy concept that offers its guests the tasty Czech cuisine and the classic Bohemian beers in an authentic, warm and social location. All our restaurants are modeled after the beer houses of Prague and are given its typical charm by a Georgian artist. Our aim is to spoil you with high standards in service and food and offer you a great experience in a unique surrounding. Try our huge pork knuckles, enjoy a fresh beer or indulge in our tempting Czech sweets. Whatever you are looking for - whether it is for a date for two or a big party - we hope to welcome you soon in one of our six locations
Nice atmosphere and good selection of beers. However the night that I visited they certainly required more staff. The two waitresses were rushed off their feet.
Didn't hang around to try the food, due to the length of time it was taking to get served.
Hopefully this was a one off.

Every summer when we visit our family in Magdeburg, we go to this restauraunt, at least once. Very friendly service, possibility to sit outside, good selection of authentic Vietnamses dishes and reasonable prices.
We usually order Pho noodle soup with beef or chicken, in addition to various appetizers. If you like good Asian food, recommended.

We arrived after having been to a lesser tapas type restaurant. The right choice for true tapas in Magdeburg is here.
Great selection of tapas and wine. I had the pata negra with padron grilled peppers. Delicious well worth the money as a personal treat. I do need to go again. My wife had the tortilla which was great. The potatas bravas for me where too much like potato wedges with a mayonnaise dip so not recommended.
Service was attentive and my poor German was indulged. Nice lively customers with mix of ages.

Popped in here for a meal before the (very near) Opernhaus. Forgot that Germans smoke everywhere, and the pretty Terrace was stunk out with tobacco. Soon forgot that, however, when my fine dunkelbier and food arrived. I had chosen mushrooms stuffed with spinach and gorgonzola, cooked with mozzarella and something which made a delicious sauce. 7.90e. I dont eat veggie that often, but this was a five star winner! My companion had a very tasty schnitzel .. and we bowled off to the theatre highly delighted and prepared to return AFTER the theatre ..
Which we did.
This time, we sat indoors, with friends from the theatre, but alas! I was too full to try a second dish of scrumptious champignons. But I made sure the others did!
A must visit next time in Magdeburg ,,

We went almost by accident looking for a Sunday lunch when most places are shut. This is a German Asian place and was open and packed. So that's an advantage!
Then the service was prompt and they spoke English. That's helpful too.The menu is wide as is the drinks selection and they pair local wines with Chinese food. The food was well made and had a touch of fusion and no confusion.
The helpings were also the right size so we did not have to waste anything

Der Strudelhof versteht sich als kleines gemütliches Kaffeehaus mit vielen österreichischen Spezialitäten. Nix to go, sondern only to sit, no W-lan - Entschleunigung als Wiederentdeckung der Langsamkeit. Kommunizieren, lesen, vielleicht eine Partie Schach oder einfach nur bei einer Wiener Kaffeehausspezialität die Zeit genießen... Regelmäßig führen wir Solonabende, wie Lesungen, Konzerte und Menüabende durch.
We have stopped at this place while passing the city of Magdeburg base on TripAdvisor's recommendations and did not regret it. Very tasty freshly baked strudels, we have tried 2 sour versions + plum strudel, all tasted great! Good and prompt service, tasty coffee too.
Well-recommended, small and cosy place with plenty of newspapers and a chessboard to play.

Creative design ideas and a skilful combination of relaxed lifestyle and comfortable charm make the ALEX Magdeburg on the Ulrichplatz one of the most hip locations in the city. The ALEX in Magdeburg has warm food on offer right up until closing time.
Staff was very attentive and welcoming. You can sit outdoors and enjoy beers (unfortunately they do not serve local brews) or wine. Burgers were good, but prices are a bit high considering you are in eastern Germany. Watch out for special combos like burgers + drinks.
