Lübeck (pronounced [ˈlyːbɛk] ( listen)) is a city in Schleswig-Holstein, northern Germany, and one of the major ports of Germany. On the river Trave, it was the leading city of the Hanseatic League, and because of its extensive Brick Gothic architecture, it is listed by UNESCO as a World Heritage Site. In 2015, it had a population of 218,523.

We enjoyed an excellent meal at Wullenwever. Several good breads and smoked duck breast. First course of first class goose liver parfait, then pumpkin soup with many tasty prawn pieces, goat fish (never heard of this but well cooked) and perfectly pink venison. All courses with subtle flavourings and sauces. Cheese from an extensive and fresh board with iced grapes. Also good half bottles of German white and red to accompany. Yes service is more formal as befits a Michelin starred restaurant but friendly and efficient. A print out of the menu in English provided on request (but why not a sample on the website in English?) Restaurant ver attractively decorated inside which you would perhaps not appreciate when looking from the street.
Overall a very good meal. Our only problem was that we chose the 5 course tasting menu. Our German neighbours seemed to have seven or eight courses. Not sure how they managed - five courses nearly beat us!

We had no Reservations, but on a Monday night had no trouble getting a table for two at about 6:30. The wait staff was very pleasant and spoke good English. We had the scallops and asparagus starter and it was wonderful. It was enough to split (4 good-sized scallops) but I could have handled it all by myself. For the main course my wife had the lobster, which they removed from the shell. It was tender and delicious. I had the veal scallopini, and it was a huge amount of food...two big slices of veal plus a lot of really, really good fried potatoes and a small salad.
We did wine by the glass: the dry Riesling for my wife and I had the Spanish red blend (just OK), followed by a glass of Cotes du Rhone (very good). Both were generous pours.
We thought about dessert but the main course portions were such that we decided to stop.
The service was a bit slow for us, but had we ordered the special of the evening (like the people at the next table) it would have been very fast.

This restaurant has an amazing interior. Lots of artefacts and period detail. The menu is extensive and in the form of a newspaper. It has an English translation for the dishes. Need to book well in advance though there were some walk ins when we were there. Good place for special occasion as prices on the top side. Excellent food and service.

Judging from the other reviews here, I must have picked the wrong dish, or the wrong night. Everything else about this restaurant was fine: the attractive interior, friendly service, and a menu that included such traditional favorites as Königsberger Klopse, which I've enjoyed numerous times and even made myself at home. But when the dish arrived - three naked balls of flavorless ground veal atop a bland cream sauce with just a few capers for decoration; and with only the accompanying beets to provide flavor - I had to wonder if the chef knew what he was doing (or had taken the night off) - I don't think I'm the only one who believes that such meatballs should be lightened by milk-soaked bread, their flavor enhanced by onions and anchovies, and covered by a savory sauce with plenty of capers and lemon juice. So my rating reflects a single dish on a single night - the usual standard is apparently much higher.

Very accessible from town, super-friendly and accommodating staff (told the waitress we were in a hurry and she had the food on the table before we knew it), cosy with a nice little biergarten upstairs. Food was delicious, if mainstream German Schnitzel-type fare, and portions generous. English-language menu available.

Our Block House in Lübeck offers a wonderful view of the Holsten Gate, the banks of the Trave and the six red brick gables of the Salzspeicher buildings.
Typical BH, very popular in Lubeck. I, and half Lubeck, eat there regularly. For 25 Euro you get good steak, professionally done and beer.

The restaurant is in a beautiful renovated 17th century building. The weather was good so we were able to have dinner in their sweet garden.
It's a lovely informal restaurant and everything we had was excellent. Its run by a really nice, friendly couple who were both extremely welcoming and helpful. Service was great at the beginning but a little slow at the end.
It was our last night in Lubeck and we were pleased we chose this restaurant, we would go again if we returned.

A very modern and cozzy ambience, suited for all occasions, crossover cuisine (Filipino Delicatessen) good wines and cocktails selection as well, definitely a TOP SECRET!!! location for tourists.
The food was really delicious. I had a dish which was chicken thighs and vegetables and my wife had steak strips with caramelized onions. The best part about this place though is the owner and staff. We walked in at 17:30, 1,5 hours before their opening time. The owner Larry sat us anyways. They were having a Saturday night buffet with live music, but rather than turn us away they sat us and let us order from the menu. The people who started trickling in as we were finishing were all greeted like family. Seems like a very genuine person and his staff share his warmth and hospitality. We will definitely return when we find ourselves in Lübeck again.

We were with two couples. Had two course dinner, ladies a nice grilled dorado, we men had steak Italian style. Pity they advertised some special pork from the daily, that appeared to be sold out ten minutes later. As a starter we had asparagus accompanied by Italian ham and cheese above. Overall the food was fine. I had a proper Italian red with it from the house, but wasn't convinced by the grappa I took with the espresso. Prices were not cheap but fair. Staff was friendly, most of all I liked the relaxed atmosphere.

Easy to find, clean, friendly with space for a group of 4.
Loads of choice, you can see everything being made and an amazing selection of jacket potato fillings. I had the Mexican which was amazing. I had food envy of every potato that came out!
