The restaurant at Strandgaarden Badehotel on Laesoe Island (DK) is simply excellent.
In cosy and relaxed atmosphere we had the five course menu on Pentecost Saturday and the three course menu on Pentecost Sunday - it was absolutely great! Creative, delicious and fresh cuisine, an excellent wine menu, perfect and very friendly service - if you visit Laesoe Island you should not miss to enjoy lunch or dinner at this first-class restaurant!
The restaurant at Strandgaarden Badehotel offers one menu in the evening only - always depending on the fresh ingredients from the local market and the phantasy of the chef and his team. You find the menu daily on www.hotel-strandgaarden.dk - reservation is recommended.

A noi é piaciuto!!

The good: food was good, they have ice cream for a nice dessert and beautiful outdoor Seating on the marina, so plenty of things to watch if you sit outside. Also, they were open in the off season in mid-afternoon, when most other restaurants were closed. The blankets by the door were great in chilly weather.
The bad: The service was mediocre here, we stopped in for a late lunch/early dinner and it was the off season, so perhaps they were understaffed, but I had to go find our server, twice.

The name "Havne Cafe" really does not do justice. The food here is much more than that. We had a most delicious three course meal. Nothing was left to change.
The table next to us had the "secret" dish. Calla a day in advance and order the seafood platter and you will be served all good from Læsø. I wish we had known that ahead of time!

Visiting here for lunch we were satisfied with the kind service we had from the staff, the food was average - not very tasty but "OK "compared to price, and better than the average level at more Læsoe restaurants. Many restaurants were closed for the season and Havnebakken was relatively well booked. They made a great espresso. The real stuff! Great location at a hill in front of the harbour.

Stay well away from this place. Microwaved chicken served with pesto out of a jar. Dry and old salad. Drinks were outrageous - what was described by the rude and irritating bar lady as homemade lemonade with læsø mint turned out to be sugary water with a red salad leaf in it. I mean come on really!? Beer was fairly tasty, until we found out the price. K79 for 1 bottle of beer and K29 for some water with sugar in it! You wouldn't pay that in an expensive bar in central London, let alone some dingy pub in the middle of nowhere which by the way had hideous decor. The placemats are enough to ruin your appetite. We left angry and disappointed. Don't give this terrible woman your hard earned money!
