L'Agulhas (or Agulhas) is a coastal village and holiday resort in the Western Cape province of South Africa. Located just north of Cape Agulhas, the southernmost tip of the African mainland, it is the southernmost settlement in Africa. It is situated next to the town of Struisbaai and about 30 kilometres (20 mi) south of the regional centre of Bredasdorp. The name "Agulhas", Portuguese for "needles", is said to have been given to the cape because the compass-needle was seen to point due north, that is, with no magnetic deviation. The Agulhas Bank is reputed to be the richest fishing area in the Southern Hemisphere.

The pizzas were good . Service is obviously better out of the summer holiday season, but was still acceptable. The kids had lots of fun. The benches they gave us were very worn though.

Service was ok. The view is out of this world. The food serviced was well presented and tasty. Please do something about the toilets, its disgusting. Don’t know how you get away with it. Don’t want to see what the kitchen looks like.

Started out by going to watch a rugby match - not even the Stormers [!] and stayed all evening for drinks and a meal. The atmosphere is superb and the great thing about this pub is the ambiance whereby you could be talking to your mates one minute and the next you're off in another corner conversing with other locals and visitors. The service is great and the bar snacks and food is as always as you would want it to be. Even on a busy period as was Saturday evening, the bar staff work frantically to be as good as they can - far better service than many in the cities! Accolades heaped upon them and Riaan and Katrina who run a tight and efficient ship. Will always visit TMC when in Struisbaai. The headaches the next morning are self-inflicted, but more than worthwhile. There are quiet areas where you can enjoy a quieter meal if rugby and socialising is not your game.

Welcome to the southernmost point of Africa, and we hope you will enjoy our established restaurant situated in the wonderful seaside village of Cape Agulhas. Our dining areas are: Upstairs - the deck Downstairs - main restaurant
We stopped by for lunch with family from Nelspruit. Good friendly service but disgusting food served. First of all we ordered the Meaty Pizza that comes with salami. No salami available so we replaced salami with bacon. The pizza served look fatty and above all the ham on there was smelly and tasted as if was off. We replaced this pizza with a faccacia, with was undercooked with chunky garlic not properly chopped. The beer however was nice and cold.

What a disappointment! I tried the fishcakes and I didn't enjoy them, the hake fillet was overcooked in oil which was old, the chips were really soggy. I was baffled to see a black plastic rubbish bag, placed open right close to the table where...MoreThank you for your constructive feedback. There is a beautiful red Ola bin ment for only condiment papers that do get abused by customers. Thank you once again. We will attend to all matters mentioned

Alas the kitchen was bar - they seem to have closed down. There was a note saying closed for renovations but I fear it is permanently close. What a pity

My colleague and I took his grand mother to supper.
Fish platters and eisbein very good, but the prawns a bit mushy...frozen, defrosted, and then frozen again...yugh.
BUT!!!! The rest of the food excellent, and one heck of a large plate of food. Great wine, and the owner served us.
Excellent place to eat or just visit for a beer.

We dined at 55 Knots on recommendation of our B&B. The Yellowtail was fresh and excellent. The restaurant is on the first floor giving views over the bay (at Struisbay). The ambiance of the restaurant appears typical for the area. Service was a little inattentive, but overall we were very pleased with our meal, with prices being reasonable for the quality of food.

Usually stop off here en route to Cape Agulhas.....always friendly service, fresh food and reasonable prices. Interesting array of non food goods for sale...and for the visitor some quirky items re the local area.
Plenty of parking off road at the front door and easy access to shop and eatery.
