This lovely restaurant nestled in the Mountains is worth a detour for lunch. The young Waitstaff are clearly still in training but are friendly and attentive. The dishes are elevated versions of regional specialties that are well-seasoned and nicely presented. The most visually striking dish was the complimentary spreads to go with the bread. Overall an enjoyable lunch in a beautiful setting.

Das Restaurant Seiger ist in St. Lorenzen bei Knittelfeld gelegen, für die meisten also nicht gerade am Weg. Allerdings rentiert sich der Umweg für einen kulinarischen Ausflug in die bodenständische steirische Küche. Die Küche bietet immer wieder spezielle Themenwochen an, z.B. Wildwochen. Die Speisen sind hervorragend und die dazu angebotenen Weine runden den Genuß ab.

Das Schlössl wurde sehr einfühlsam hergerichtet. Im Gegensatz zum G`schlössl vielleicht ein wenig "steril". Aber auch hier ist das Personal äußerst freundlich. Was eventuel abgeht, es gibt keinen Spa-Bereich im Haus. Wenn man einen SPA nutzen möchte, wird man in`s nicht weit entfernte G`schlössl gebracht. Aber wie gesagt ein tolles Haus mit freundlichem Personal.

We eat there 3 times at our race weekend and the quality vs value was good. Views to track are exelent and you can follow the race in monitors at restaurant. Snitzel was basic and ok. Turkey pasta was exelent but entrecote steak was way too small and over done. Service was good and decoration and atmosphere great. Hard to find bettet race track restaurant from any where in Europe.

The view over the Red Bull Ring is amazing. I was here with Audi and really enjoyed every minute of it. We had nice dinner. My room was in another building and waking up and having an view over the complete circuit is really worthwhile

Seckau is a small rural town around a massively big monastery. As with all monasteries, you can expect good food around it - no difference here.
Aside from the very nice Hofwirt restaurant, you should explore some of the cakes and gingerbread that this small café has to offer. The interior is not too modern, but who cares when you can indulge in an orgy of carbs.
Loved the gingerbread and my chocolate cake and found it well worth to have them on my lips and a cherished lifetime on my hips!

This place can be a role model for all traditional Austrian restaurants. All staff very friendly and polite, beautiful ambiance, cute menus and amazing food. You can see that this is all done with heart and passion and it worked out just perfect for us. I don´t think I´ll be visiting Knittelfeld anytime soon, but if I should, I definitely eat here again. Great job!

Located right next to the Abbey of Seckau you will find the restaurant “Der Hofwirt”. The building has been beautifully renovated. The ambiance in the restaurant has no equal. With style and love this restaurant has been set up and we immediately felt comfortable.
The service staff wear taditionelle clothing. All the staff are very friendly and efficient with a little humor. Just great - we thought to have once again found a secret.
The recommended red wine from the east of Austria was really terrific.
Unfortunately, then the food was served. All ordered soups were too salty. In my opinion, the chef has this already several times eien long time standing on the stove and not seasoned before the service.
Before lunch we took a short tour of the region and discovered a deer breeding enclosure on a small hill near the restaurant “Der Hofwirt”.
We took this as an opportunity to experience the deer saddle offered on the menu. Also this dish was a total letdown. The saddle was cut into small pieces and was completely overcooked. The sauce indefinable. The side dishes tasteless. The presentation of the food corresponded to the level of a poor cuisine of the army. The recommended local specialty (Wurzlfleisch) was tastless. The horseradisch not fresh and the potatoes with a bad aftertaste. All main dishes were not hot.
On the dessert we have dispensed with thanks.
Visited this place - maybe for a drink or a glass of wine.
A really nice restaurant – hopefully the owner find a way to change the kitchen, because it is a shame to serve food on this level, especially if you find high quality products in this region.
