The famous sari hub of the country, Kanchipuram is just 83 kilometers from Chennai. Apart from the silk weavers, the temple town is considered one of the holiest destinations in India. If you want to target a single stop to see temples, this is relevant for both Shiv and Vishnu followers.

it is a wonderful vegetarian restaurant in Kanchpuram. We had been to this restaurant for lunch after completing our saree shopping. The price of the thaali meals is very reasonable and extremely delicious too. Staff are nice, quick and understanding. The ambience is also good.

Breakfast, Lunch or Dinner... We can go to Sarvana Bhavan. They serve all South Indian and North Indian. They charge premium more than their own outlets. They have A/C Hall also. Parking is available , normally packed. They have a separate floor for meals. They can be less arrogant.

This restaurant is in Nellukara street and is opposite to the Main Bus stand of Kanchipuram. This is one of the Chain of restaurants of Adyar ananda bhavan in chennai which will have the Udupi style mild cuisine. People who like andhra type food( chilli hot) will not like this. The food is good, the maintenance is very good and clean. A very good ambience is felt. I find that the rates are a bit high compared to the restaurants nearby for the same quality

This happens to be an average restaurant. The service is not up to the mark. You get non-veg options along with other popular south indian vegetarian dishes

We have eaten several times at this restaurant mostly breakfast or in the evening: all (south Indian) tiffin items. Food was good, but slightly high priced.
This is located just off the highway and there is lot of parking space in front of the restaurant.
Service reasonable. Ambience: good but not sure about the effectiveness of the a/c. Restrooms are good and clean.

I've stopped here a couple of times during my journey to Chennai. It's just like any other CCD outlet that serves beverages, sandwiches, wraps and pastries. I have never seen it with people. It's a calm place to relax and have a hot beverage when you are traveling.

Before I give the details of this restaurant, first thing I bring to the notice of trip advisor and travellers, that the Hotel Sangeetha, at No.7,Nellukara street, Kanchipuram has been renamed as 'UPASHANA RESTAURANT' and the name sangeetha does not exist any more. I was told by an Auto driver, that it has been further modernised 3 months before and is renamed as Upashana restaurant. It is in the Ground floor of Sree sakthi Hotel.
Now coming to my views, I find this vegetarian restaurant to be very good, very cleanly maintained, and food items are of excellent taste both for breakfast and Lunch or dinner items. The service and the behaviour of the waiters is excellent. Most pleasing part is that the rates are very moderate for such standards. and it is all the time crowded. The south indian thali lunch was Rs.70/- only( Non-AC) and I have attached the photo too. There is also north indian Thali meals and chinese items. There is an air-conditioned room service upstairs. On the whole I find this restaurant very good and value for the money.

Traditional and healthy food - lot of varieties of Idlis and dosas - a great stop on the NH - 99 kms from Chennai.
There are varieties of water also and tasty and yummy snacks - around the clock. A useful stop on the highway especially for people travelling with family. Their mini-tiffen combo was excellent - one idli, one poori, portion of pongal, portion of aval upma, one vadai and excellent filter coffee. All this comes with a jar of sambhar and chutney. YUMMY !

Being a regular traveller on this highway, we get to see lots of eateries coming up, today you have a choice of many brands on the highway. Finding HSB as one of them makes life easier for the vegetarians.
Located on the highway next to the L & T unit, before the Meenakshi Medical college, this place has plenty of parking space. There are indication boards on the highway, but nearer to the restaurant, you dont find any, so watch out for the big HSB board parallel to the highway.
Fare is the usual HSB menu, Quality is the same too. Facilities are good, particularly for those who want to make a nature call. Convenient for those who are going to Kanchipuram or Bengaluru for those coming on the other side will have to cross the highway or take a huge U turn.
