Bispegarden was build by Bishop Oluf in the 15th century. Today, the charming yellow building houses Bistro Bispegarden. Bistro Bispegarden is the place to go for a good, trustworthy meal with no fuzz. Here you can experience that special warm and cosy feelings the Danes call "Hygge. Bistro Bispegarden offers tasty, homemade meals made from local, seasonal ingredients. Enjoy your food in a friendly atmosphere with a glass of good wine, local speciality beer or organic soda. Our meat is often local and we are of course happy to provide a vegetarian meal.
We had one of the lunch specials, meatballs with a choice of salads. It was a rather light lunch but we enjoyed it very much. Everything was very fresh and tasty. The waitresses were very nice, provided us with a menu in English and spoke English themselves. It also stands out as there doesn't seem to be many other places like this in the area.

Excellent restaurant with a very friendly service and the host was very accomodating, she was fast and her food was excellent,it was a pleasure to have a dinner here in an atmosphere of nature, life and friends. The view is fantastic and after a long hike it is really nice to have a coffee and a good dinner.
I have heard the restaurant have been taken over by another operator since.

Went here with some friends, for a traditional Danish stegt flæsk og persillesauce. The room was worn, the service was slow and the stegt flæsk was basic. Nothing about the evning was something that we would talk about in times to come.

A summer day on Gisseløre was the perfect time to visit this restaurant when the somewhat grubby environment fades away in favour of a spectacular view. The interior of the old wooden building was not too inviting, so we chose the Terrace where shade from the sun and shelter from the wind was easily found.
From a somewhat pretentious menu we selected a fresh pasta with seafood, and it turned out to be both a good and a bad experience. The generous amounts of truly fresh shrimp, crab meat and scallop were deliciously prepared, and that was the only justification for the very steep price of 265 DKK per person for a pasta dish. Surprisingly the pasta was seriously overcooked into a mushy substance which in my opinion is a disgrace to any chef who claims to be inspired by Italian cuisine.
The meal was accompanied by an inharmonious and barely drinkable South African chardonay at 235 DKK per bottle, so the overall experience of the meal was not one of value for money.
We were literally the only guests in the restaurant, but the waiter was either too tired or too bored to care much about serving us, and tables after previous guests were left uncleared.
What could have been a lovely experience in a beautiful and laid-back setting turned out to be a mediocre show of sloppy performance by people who should know better.

Basically that was the choice.... Two or three courses, I had a main and a starter, the main was beef goulash If you are a vegetarian there did not seem a choice...

Expensive and cold food. No value for the high price! Surroundings like a cafeteria and just saying again: Silly high prices for ordinary food!

We came here one evening, there were plenty of tables and seats at this large restaurant. You could choose dishes from a menu, or pick various food like Japanese, Chinese, Thai and Mongolian food from the buffet. Well, what a Buffet! The best I ever tried. The food was good and there are many different choices. Cakes and Coffee were also included on the Buffet table, affordable.

It's a fine sushi restaurant with fresh seafood (of course)
There's two running tracks, one for seafood and one for grill- food. But don't arrive late. The last customers are not served anything, but what's left on the running tracks. No refill the last hour! They could have asked what we needed, but didn't!

Bangkok Traditional Thai Food in Kalundborg is a nice place for genuine thai food. The food is fresh and the kitchen is clean. It is a little pricy (100 dkr for an average main dish) compared to other Asian restaurants, but if you feel for Thai food when visiting Kalundborg, this is the place to go.

This Italian restaurant is not what one expects. The only pasta on the menu was a small penne appetizer with an unseasoned tomato sauce. The entree of chicken was not seasoned and the veal was chewy. The lack of pasta may be due to the seasonal menu but definitely would not go back. The service was good provide by the chef.
