OK, despite the advertising of having been on the Food Network, we were not impressed with the food. We ordered the crab dip as an appetizer and found it to be too sweet although the chips served with it were light, crispy, and good on their own. The burger & fries were very good, the chicken Sandwich was below average. The indoor Seating area resembles a cafeteria, not any ambience to speak of. A lot of busses stop here so keep that in mind when timing your meal.

We stopped in on our way around the Cabot Trail. It was recommended by our gas station attendant (he was a bit biased as his family owns the place). He wasn't wrong though as it was delicious. We sat on the enclosed deck and had a great view of the bay. I had the reuben Sandwich which was delicious and a big portion. My wife had the hot Turkey Sandwich which also was huge and good. Great prices and the people were so friendly. Stop here!

We ate several meals at the Purple Thistle. Our dinners were excellent, especially the halibut and the lemon semifredo dessert. They don't rush you so dinners averaged 2 hours. We had a great server one night and a chatty server the next.
Breakfasts were good, though the service was uneven. Our second breakfast the server disappeared and we never got a coffee refill. The first morning our server was continually "reheating" my cup.
It doesn't matter where you sit because there are great views out both sides of the restaurant.

We are a large restaurant and Bakery with a large menu. We provide take-out as well as full service dining, serving everything from burgers and fries to halibut, lobster, crab, etc. almost everything is made from scratch and we take much pride in our food and service. We also have a large deck. The restaurant is new, modern and clean.
This is a great spot for dinner. It is very busy though so keep that in mind as you will likely have to wait for a table.
The food was very good. My husband had the lobster dinner, I had the lobster mac and cheese.
Both were quite delicious, well presented.
The waitress was pleasant and helpful. It is a family run restaurant in a great location (right across the street from the liquor store).
We didn’t feel rushed at all. There are tables on the patio as well.

Can't find a website. The "resort" has both a restaurant and a pub. I want to review the restaurant.
We read some negative reviews on this site about this restaurant, but we tried it anyway. We had great service, a very nice table by the window and we thought the food was just fine. Ingonish is not a "foodie" town and even the top resort here only had okay food. But our meal here was better than average and we wanted to make sure people knew because the other reviews we read on this restaurant were not accurate judging from our experience. We'd come here again.

Small cozy Cafe that makes very good coffee, or specialty drinks. A fabulous breakfast of real homemade menu choices. Lunch with homemade breads, Sandwich and soup choices that are tasty and often compared to selections that your grandma used to give you. Great staff, and reasonable prices.

The family was hungry and there were not many options on the Cabot trail. We pulled in to the small parking lot and ordered pizza, poutine and a donaire (not knowing what it was)
The service was lacking but the food was top notch and ready quite quickly considering they had to cook the pizza.
We sat at one of the two small tables outside (they also have indoor seating). The poutine was ok. The pizza was good and the donaire was excellent. Prices were reasonable too.
I recommend this place without a doubt. I don't think you will be disappointed!

We had dinner and their breakfast buffet during an overnight stay in the off-season.
The decor is simple and open, with a beautiful view.
The breakfast buffet was extensive, considering that we appeared to be the only guests. There was warm ham and hard-boiled eggs plus a large selection of fruit, cereal and yogurt.
Our dinner felt uncomfortable, as we were the only diners. Appetizers and mains were both simple preparations. The price of $45pp suggested something more sophisticated and tasty.

We dined in the Purple Thistle Room at Keltic Lodge. Truly lovely room, view and buffet. Staff was superb, lunch was tasty. One of the highlights of our trip. A must visit for us again one day. The lodge itself is incredible.

A family restaurant specializing in seafood prepared by a proffesional chef. Dine in or take out.
We stopped in for some coffee and a quick snack of French fries. The staff were so kind to us and we had a nice little chat while our French fries were being made. They also have seafood, hamburgers, and chicken fingers available.
In summary:
Very nice staff and those French fries hit the spot.
