Immenstadt im Allgäu is a town in the Upper Allgäu, the southernmost district of Bavaria, Germany, in the German Alps. First mentioned in a 1275 administrative tract, it was granted town privileges in 1360, which makes it one of the oldest towns in the area. It was the seat of the counts of Königsegg-Rothenfels until 1804.

Just happened to pass through this Bavarian town with a very good friend because I constantly travel, I can honestly say that this is probably in the top 2 of 100 or so restaurants that I have visited this past year.
The pork knuckle I had was to put it mildly, simply out of this world good.
Came back the following day...the rest of the menu was positively fantastic.
The wait staff are very cordial and proficient and Thomas Obst (Owner & Head Chef) sure knows how to treat his customers and cooks sublimely.
I hope to return soon...and fully recommend the warm and true Bavarian atmosphere in this establishment which is truly unique and original in its own way.

You can find this "cheerful deer" in a tiny hamlet of Akams near Immenstadt. It is an old inn which has plenty of game at its menu. You can eat in the garden where a local farmer happened to transport haystacks between the tables! The old restaurant inside is impressive with its old furniture, and especially impressive is an ancient wooden toilet. Excellent bavarian beer, which alone made the trip worthwhile!

This little gem in the middle of Sonthofen is as traditional as Bavaria gets! from its spacious typical décor to wenches in traditional dress. We were welcomed with a smile and English menus. The big bonus, it's the local brewery as well and the beer is to die for, so much so that I ended up drinking from a stein hick! Hirsch gold was my favourite but there are so many others as well. Food was hearty and plentiful as you'd expect. Faultless!

The restaurant in the centre of Immenstadt was very welcoming with a nice ambiance. The menu had a wide choice. We started with pumpkins soup, which was delicious, I then had wild boar, which was very tender and well presented. My wife had risotto of spinach, cheese, mushrooms and cheese, which she assured me was delicious, but very filling. The service was polite and helpful and our waitress spoke good english and provided an english menu with some interesting translations, which saved us struggling with the dictionary. A very enjoyable evening

My partner and I have visited this restaurant twice now, and both times we were very pleased. We both ordered the schweinsehaxe - I ordered it with mashed potato and sauerkraut and my partner ordered it with knoedel (basically dumplings). We both really enjoyed the food and the service was great - the staff were very attentive and we didn't have to wait long for our food. The menu is in strong Bayern dialect though,so if you don't have a German speaker with you then you may struggle a little bit!

One of the most authentic, tasty Bavarian meal experiences. The quaint cafe has an incredible Panorama of the alps from the outside Terrace, as well as fun castle ruins, a small playground and a functioning dairy farm to explore while waiting for your food/after your meal. The service is excellent and very friendly. The cakes are simply stunning, and taste just as good as they look -- could barely believe they were homemade! They are closed on Thursdays, but open every other day of the week. My favorite meal in the Allgäu -- have been back here multiple times!

Wir waren als Familie essen und es war alles wie es sein sollte. Das Essen war überdurchschnittlich gut zu einem fairen Preis und es wurde auch alles gleichzeitig serviert, so das keiner warten musste.

We visited this cafe several times during our stay near Immenstadt and were delighted. The patiserie is just too tempting and the waitresses in their traditional costumes are very welcoming. On sunny days it was lovely to sit outside overlooking the square and on cooler days it is comfortable to sit indoors where the decor is very pleasant, with good views over the square.

This little restaurant in Immenstadt is a place you may walk by but not go in. You would not expect such a good food in this simple place. They have a broad variety of Asian food, Vietnamese, Thai, Chinese, and you can watch them prepare it all fresh. We went there several times already and would always come back. Also outside Seating, and they have their own parking.
