It's the restaurant from Hotel Central. It's not a cheap restaurant but fair. I have had a small menu but I ordered it without dessert and they reduced the price accordingly. Here you get very high quality food; specially the Black Angus Beef is fantastic (one of the best I ever had). Also nice ambience in addition with attentive staff. No stress or arguing with colleagues as other reviewers wrote. Waiting time is absolutely acceptable even if the restaurant is very occupied. All in all a obvious recommendation.

Here is the short summary for those that like it compact:
Good:
- Clean and spacious room
- Friendly and helpful staff
- Good breakfast
- really tasty dinner
Not so good:
- No elevator
- Choices of Deserts
Bad:
- nothing to our experience
Recommandable:
- Absolutely
And now the long summary:
Upon arrival the check on was quick and we went up to the room in second floor.
Room was spacious and clean. The room we had was also well maintained.
Bed was comfortable and typical German twin bed with the gap between the two mattresses as in Germany, as in many other European countries, king size bed with just one mattress are not so common.
Additional pillows where provided on request.
Bathroom was clean, size was within what I would call standard - maybe a little larger than usually.
The staff was very friendly from start to end. They helped with the luggage, provided information for my wife to go shopping and Christmas market and advised that on Friday morning check out could take longer since all guests will leave (hotel closed during Xmas, Restaurant would stay open on 26/27 and really busy).
The hotel was nicely decorated with Christmas themes and has the charm of a family run hotel.
Wlan was steady and quite quick as well as included in the hotel price. A pleasant surprise in Europe where still many hotels charge exorbitant for internet connection.
Breakfast was good in choice and quality.
The scrambled eggs where a pleasant surprise as they where fluffy and creamy even though kept in a warning pan! Some of the best I ever had in Germany!!
My wife loved the salmon that was available as well (Don't know if that is standard part of their breakfast).
The restaurant was quite busy and we learned from other guests that reservation is recommended- even if you are staying in the hotel!!
The reason became quite obvious soon.
Food was excellent! They have own farm for deer, sheep and cow. For other products they also seem to be carefully selecting their suppliers and that pays off.
You may also purchase some of their products to take home as did we. And they where very much liked by those we gave them to...
The choices of Deserts however was disappointing! Mainly icecream which was not homemade either...
I would have loved to see just a few typical, local Deserts which would have been a perfect finish for the great main dishes we had.
Should we be in the area again we certainly would choose to stay here again and can recommend it to others as well.

Very pleasantly surprised to find this excellent restaurant in the otherwise sleepy Hof. The extensive menu has something for all tastes and budgets; from basic Pizza to exquisite fish dishes; and a wine menu which ranges from simple open wines to pricey but excellent rarities. The owner Gerardo is a throughly charming individual, and staff were friendly and attentive throughout. Only slight negative: the starter portions were enormous, which may be de rigeur with the clientele in the sticks of Franconia, but rather too much as part of a "proper" Italian meal The John Dory in Prosecco sauce was outstanding though. If Il Ristorante wre in a bigger town it would be booked out every night. The good people of Hof mostly seem to be in bed by 8pm though, which makes dining here relaxing too.

Went with the family on a Tuesday evening as we spent the night i Hof and the receptionist recommended it as typical German. That's probably true - and the place had a lot of local guests. Food was okay - nothing more. We all had wienerschnitzel with french fries and very boring vegetables. Expected a bit more ... And are not coming back.

Season is a really cool restaurant with extremely well tasting food. We especially enjoyed the starters which were delicious. Portions are well sized and prices are reasonable for the quality of food you can expect. We will definitely be back!

Il Colosseo has a great location with a very nice, glass-enclosed building to help you feel that you are outside. They offer some outdoor Seating as well, but it looked quite limited.
Of all the places we had dinner in Hof, this location had the best service - the staff was attentive, made you feel welcome, and were very professional. The restaurant was busy the night we were there, and other nights when we walked past.
We ordered Caprese salad, which was fairly good, and both had pizza for our main dish. The crust was a nice, thin crust and was full of great looking toppings. We were disappointed when we tasted it, though, as there was no flavor, despite the artichokes, and various hams/salamis which were ordered.
If you would like great service, a nice ambiance and to have an enjoyable evening, then this spot would work for you - just temper expectations on the tastes of the food.

We ate here with some colleagues from RAPA and it was a good meal. It was something a little different than the small town of Selb had to offer. The service was good and the atmosphere is nice

The Pizzeria was full, service was fast but we had to wait a bit for our Pizze. Which were crusty, hot and well topped. Prices were OK, too so nothing to complaint unless you are in a real rush.

Nice place, wide open bufet with live cooking. Different king of mongolian and chinese food. Fresh fish - salmon, parrot fish, makrella, fresh sea food - prawns, shrimps, shells, soups, fresh vegetable, fruits, chocolate Fountain, salads, sushi corner, coffee corner, soft drinks and cooked chinese food. If you go you will be surprised how nice evening you will spend in Gourmet Palast with your family, friends, your love or business partners. I recommend this place.
