Nestled in the mountains, Hakone's trains, trails, and gondolas showcase the breathtaking vistas of Fuji-Hakone-Izu National Park, including close views of Mt. Fuji. The sulfurous steam from the region's volcanic activity fuels natural hot springs, the centerpieces of the many spas and resorts.

Plus point of this place is definitely it's opening hours. My husband and myself were shocked to see that majority of the place were closed (at just 5++pm!) and were really happy to see a place serving hot soba in soup.
Soba was al dente and the broth is rich and sweet. Ordered mine with wild mushroom and vegetables- love it.
Servers were all polite and I waited for around 15 minutes for food to be served which was reasonable considering the crowd during dinner time.
Do note that they do not allow customers to walk in after 6:45pm or so.

We were staying at the Fujiya so we decided to eat in the restaurant on one evening. We had booked with reception so were shown to the table immediately. We loved the style and ambience of the restaurant. For starters we chose the duck confit and the starter medley. The duck was flavoursome but usually confit is very well cooked and comes off the bone easily with crispy skin but this didn't and it was a bit of a fight to eat it (I would have picked it up if I wasn't in such a refined place). My husband's medley of starters was beautifully presented and they all tasted fine. For mains I had the beef stew which was rich and tasty but there was quite a lot of fat. There were noddles in the dish so the rice I ordered with it was unecessary, so I wish that the menu had mentioned the noodles. My husband's dish of seafood in a creamy sauce was nice but I tasted a scallop and it was overcooked. I was impressed with the glass of red wine I had. The service was pleasant throughout but we had to keep asking for water. We wanted to enjoy the meal more. We certainly didn't come to Japan expecting to find good french food, however given the prices charged I thought that the food should have been faultless. We loved the hotel but would not eat in the restaurant if we stayed again as we feel that it was overpriced for the quality. What a shame.

Really incredible Gyoza served by hospitable owners.
Some of them speak a little English & they have an English menu which is great for tourists. Otherwise, there are photos of food.
The crabmeat dumplings were crispy on the outside yet juicy on the inside with a generous amount of filling.
The deep-fried squid as a side had plenty of flavour and was very crispy.
The highlight of the meal was the chicken-skin gyoza and stuffed chicken wing gyoza. Both tasted absolutely incredible and were very unique!
Will definitely be back for more on my next trip! Definitely worth a try!

Good pizza and spare ribs. They have over two pages of pizza menu. Ribs are also strongly suggested.

great coffee and just 100 m directly from Miyanoshita Station. they have a little library upstairs where you find travel books and other useful things. best feature is the foot spa where u can sit either at a large table sticking your feet into warm water or they have a space outside under an umbrella where you can zip your espresso, read a book and spa your feet. no charge for the foot bath. they have free slippers for going inside etc.
highly recommendable also for a visit with kids >10 years.

Refreshing and excellent Japanese style cafe. I ordered Yumochi with Japanese green tea. Yumochi is one of the famous sweets in Hakone made by sticky rice with yuzu(citrus fruits) taste. Yumochi was really tasty and a bit pricy for one sweet, but it worth to try! We spent almost an hour with girl's talks and eating tasty Yumochi in cosy atmosphere.
Chimoto is located 5-10 mins from Hakoneyumoto station where is on the way to my hotel.
There is store next to the cafe, and you can take Yumochi to your home.

This sushi shop is a small family owned shop in the Miyanoshita area of Hakone. This restaurant features a rice bowl of horse mackerel, and other sushi was also delicious. In particular, we recommend rolled sushi of grained tuna. The price was affordable and service was OK.

This happens to be a repeat review as the word Salon did not appear on TA, after my review I see this. It is indeed a great spot to enjoy the local traditional teas and some exceptional desserts that the pastry chef offers for discerning guests.

A small cafe that serves a delicious bread soup. The soup is served in a hollowed-out bread. Delicious. There was some queuing before we could come in and eat. It was worthwhile the wait. おいしいパンのスープを提供しています小さなカフェ。スープはくり抜かれたパンで提供しています。おいしいです。私たちが来て、食べていた前にいくつかのキューイングがありました。それは待つ価値がありました。

We were welcomed by very friendly staff, some of the chefs speak English to a degree which allows you to order, ask basic questions about your meal, etc. We had absolutely fabulous beef, it was literally melting in our mouths. Best teppanyaki I've ever had! Bill came up to 12000 yen for shared assortment of starters, shared salad and shared 200g beef teppanyaki. Highly recommend, excellent experience!
