Menam Restaurant is located at Eyravegur 8 in Selfoss near the banks of Olfusa river. Menam, which actually means "By the River" is an Thai/International restaurant who places emphasis on delicious food of both Thai and International origin, cooked only with fresh ingredients, served in a soft-spoken manner and surrounded in cozy settings. Our staff is both of Thai and Icelandic origin whose experience in their field guaranties the best quality in our cuisine. We do also offer traditional courses (fish and steak) so everyone should be able to find something they like :-) Please come and visit us - we look forward to be at your service !
This is an Asian/Thai restaurant. I had the garlic ginger chicken and my husband had the garlic ginger beef. The food was seasoned nicely not hot. I could not believe how many vegetables were served!!!! It seems vegetables are in short supply in Iceland. This is the only meal where we had a sufficient amout of vegetables. The service was very good as well.

nice informal vibe and a good place to relax and unwind. easy menu - lots of pizza and bruschetta. The pickled veg salad was very good, and the cured lamb - delicious. Casual and friendly service, and they make their own chocolate. Good find. Reasonably priced.

Small Ethiopian restaurant run by the Icelandic owner and his Ethiopian wife. Great food, vegetarian friendly, and reasonably priced by Icelandic standards. The decor is outstanding, and worth spending a few minutes walking around to admire the artifacts. We were a group of 6 people so we had to wait a bit, since it is a small place, but well worth it.

This was an infinitely better cafe than the one at Geysir, decent coffee, good hot chocolate and great soup and cakes. It was comfortable and the staff friendly and helpful but beware of long queues during busy times if you have to get back to your coach.

We are a family run restaurant and coffee shop that offers local produce as well as products made here on the farm; such as cheeses, skyr, icecream and our own beef. We buy all fresh local vegetables from the county and make our foods from scratch, using traditional Icelandic styles with a modern twist. We are located along the Golden Circle route 37, so if youa re travelling in the area, please feel free to stop by for some ice cream or for something to eat. We ask that guests please make reservation for dinner, as we are often quite busy. Best regards, The Efstidalur Family
Every tour bus should stop here!
It wasn’t on our schedule, but I suggested to the driver we should take a short stop here, at least for an ice cream cone. Actually, I mostly wanted to see the main attraction, the source of the delicious, creamy treat just a few meters away from us, on the other side of the window. Really, this is a special attraction on its own and a memorable one!

A brand new restaurant, opened in June 2012, with a menu using the freshest fish and meat of the season with strong focus on local produce. Our chefs use predominanly local igredients of the highest quality and freshness. The Icelandic fish is one of the world’s best ingredients and we make the best out of it. Also you can find goumet lamb, a wide range of bread and home baked cakes. Indulge in delicious ice cream in homemade waffles and freshly grounded coffee from Illy. The restaurant is designed by Leifur Welding and isinspired by the Icelandic nature and Icelandic design. Sigurdur Greipsson, the family ancestor was a famous Icelandic wrestler “glímukappi” and in his honour the restaurant also introduces the only national sport that Iceland has “glíma”. Among other things is “Grettisbeltið” for display, the most famous historical treasure in the whole Icelandic sports history and also the oldest. The restaurant is opened everyday.
While touring Golden Circle we had lunch at Geysir Glima Self Service Restaurant and we were not dissapointed with our choice. Mushroom soup, Fish and chips and the almond pecan pie were all great for the money paid. We paid less than the average price of Reykjavik restaurants and the food was very good. Remember that if you want to buy alcohol you can not take it with you outside because you need to drink it inside. Ale Beer is also cheaper than average restaurants below 1000 isk.

A camping site and a restaurant on the Geysir area between Gullfoss and Geysir that are the most visited places in Iceland and about 2 million visitors every year pass by.
Easily one of our favorite stops during our tour of Iceland. We arrived thirty minutes before they closed looking for a pint and a place to camp. Jon warmly greeted us and we immediately felt welcome.
Jon's charm and graciousness adds that extra touch that insures a wonderful time.
Thanks to the available WiFi, we were able to stream game seven of the World Series to watch our Astros win it all.
While we did not get a chance to try any food, there are three beers on tap and a selection of standard bottles of liquor.
Also provided on the wall are a selection of instruments that are available to play.
Our campsite was perfect and the related facilities are well thought out and clean. The water closets are available 24 hours a day, plus there is an area with sinks outside.
If you are van camping in this part of Iceland, I highly recommend Skjol as the spot to stop along your way!

Good day, and welcome to our page. We are a small family run business located in the country side of Iceland, near Gullfoss and Geysir. We offer foods and drinks, along with various pastries. Our service is friendly, personal and welcoming. We hope to see you during your trip to Iceland!
We stopped off briefly to get a soda while making our way around a number of sites in the area. Staff at the cafe were friendly and efficient and the view of the waterfall is remarkable. I look forward to visiting again.Hello Mark! Thank you so much for your review. It makes us very happy to hear that you enjoyed our staff. Looking forward to having you again!

We booked a Golden Circle tour that stopped here for lunch on recommendation of friends, who told us they had stumbled upon it on their trip to Iceland, and loved it. The staff were very friendly and knowledgeable and told us about the history of the farm and the family who run it. Sitting in amongst the tomato plants, under a bright blue sky eating delicious tomato soup and home made bread was a great experience. The atmosphere was great. When we finished we went outside to see their horses which was also nice. All in all we really enjoyed our lunch here and would recommend, it's a quirky place to go and the soup is great!!

stopped here on the golden circle tour ... tons of people, ultra crowded and very expensive. DH and I each got just a cup of soup and the bill was nearly 5000 IsK (About 50 USD) and that took us over 30-minutes to get through the line and pay.. didn't even get anything to drink otherwise it would have been over 6000 IsK. Smaller crowds about 15 minutes up the road at Gullfoss Waterfalls and the bathrooms there have smaller lines (I had no wait at all),
