This bustling transport hub, site of the terminal for ferries to and from Norway, is a city of 25,000. Primarily a hectic ferry port and shopping pit stop, it's popular with Swedes and Norwegians, who visit to stock up on appealingly priced meat and alcohol. If you miss your ferry or tire of edible and potable on-shelf options, visit Bangsbo Museum, an open-air attraction full of 18th-century buildings, 14th-century ruins, antique farm equipment and handicrafts created from hair and WWII relics.

Been here two times during my stay in north jylland, well worth a trip!
A must is trying their Tempura Salad as a starter, as well as Salmon skin with chili majo!
The atmosphere is quiet and chill, workers are polite and experiensed. They also got quite good selection of Japan beer.

I found Jerry's by chance on a n early Saturday evening. It's an American-themed wooden shack type of place with a steaks-ribs-burger-pizza menu. I had the ribs and Jerry's home brew which was good. The ribs were well-cooked and tasted fine. This sort of place is generally not exactly my thing but I had an enjoyable meal and the staff were friendly and so I would go back. Next time I'll wear jeans as everybody else was!

11 people had lunch when attending a handball tournament in Frederikshavn (Rødspette Cup). Very tasty food, large menu, nicely presented courses and a nice atmosphere. Close to 5 but "not working Internet" and two wrongly served courses pull 1 down. Still recommended as a very good alternative for lunch or possibly dinner.

Great location, peaceful atmosphere, friendly service and delicious beef. Aberdeen-Angus beef topped with truffle sauce was just excellent. Exciting menu, but I never enjoy seeing crocodile on the menu. If visiting Sæby, its´definitely worth locating this hidden gem. My best meal in 2017. No doubt.

Another hidden gem found thanks to TripAdvisor.
All our tapas selections were excellent. The bread looked like the sweet bread from Sweden, but was not sweet at all - which were great - fresh and tasteful. The cheeses, meat, olives, pates and the sauces were all so tasteful - in a fine combination.
The menu was very interesting, with several tempting dishes, which I will have to try another time. Could expand their (micro) beer selection, and then everything will be perfect.
Will be back for sure (when back in Frederikshavn).
Top score, of course.

Found this place on google when googling "dansk frokostplatte" (danish lunch plate) with pickled herring, flounder, roastbeef and shrimps. We didn't find it but ordered shrimp open Sandwich and roastbeef open Sandwich. After 10 minutes the cook came out and told us the they were out of roastbeef. Not good! We took the smoked salmon open Sandwich which was just so and so. Did not understand fresh apple on top of the salmon? Next time we will travel 15 minutes for the "frokost plate"

They produce the best burgers you can have. Very High quality and a lot of food for the money paid. We have only had take away, but there is always a lot of people dining there.

Upon arrival at Frederikshavn our hotel recommended Frida on Havnegade 5 for a quick lunch. The restaurant offers an all-you-can eat lunch buffet (‘Frokost Buffet’ in Danish) for 79 Danish crowns, served from 11.30 am till 2.30 pm. Not exactly health food, but tasty nonetheless. Drinks are not included and are comparatively expensive (33 crowns for a small beer), but our total bill was still very reasonable. There is an outside Seating area, but the interior looks nicer.
