A former fur trade fort, the village of Fort Langley offers a quaint, historic village with shops, restaurants, museums, and the Fort Langley National Historic Site. Surrounded by the Fraser River and lush agricultural countryside, it makes a great day trip from Vancouver especially when combined with visits to nearby Fraser Valley wineries and farms.

Came back to enjoy the outside patio before the cooler weather arrives! Great dining experience where you can take in the view of the river plus have a great meal. For us it was another tasty pizza with a cold drink, plus the staff were...MoreThanks...let's hope the good weather continues.

Went for Valentine's Day and although the online booking said there were seats, we waited outside in line, then inside until the place was full and we were told our online reservation was not received. Also, I left a voicemail to follow up before going and the manager said he had not received one. BS! After waiting in frustration and feeling ignored, we were then told we could sit in the back on some brown leather chairs (see pics) that I wouldn't give to charity. What an insult! I would ask the male manager, would you seat your loved one on this chair for her Valentine's Day dinner? The manager was not accountable to the online booking flaw and said he would call me to make things right. He never called!
I recommend supporting a restaurant that is accountable when they make a mistake and ensure they treat their customers with integrity.

After Reading about this place on line I was expecting something different ... like a great pub with awesome live music.. it is now just a big restaurant with a closed in deck with heaters.. nothing great about the atmosphere and the live band was just just on one end of the restaurant ...
The food was just ok... their were 6 of us and the only people that loved their food were the 2 that got the pasta...
I probably wouldn’t go back although it would be a nice view in the summer being right on the river...

Wendel's nourishes hungry minds and bodies as an independent bookstore and fresh-food café. The café lavishes readers with a menu of fresh fare made in-house that eschews preservatives and accommodates dietary needs with wheat-free, dairy-free, and vegetarian options. An outdoor patio puts patrons in prime Reading, people-watching, or espionage-conducting position to enjoy local scenery along with breakfast selections such as organic blueberry pancake and omelettes. Lunch and dinner selections span hand-held bites such as the chicken-and-avocado wrap and heartier dishes such as wild-salmon-and-asparagus salad. Coffee and espresso creations range from lattes and cappuccinos to mocha frappes and are brewed with beans from local roaster Moja Coffee and water from the local Fountain of youth.
Wendel's Bookstore and resaurant are all part of a monument in the recent history of Fort Langley! Situated on a corner of a major crossroad and just across from the historical train station Wendel's cannot be missed. Added to its colourful personality is the overhang of the buildiings roof which serves as a Seating area for people to eat and drink.
Particularly odd for some of us non Canadian tourists is to see people happily drinking or eating when the temperatures are -2c or more!!! There are no outdoor gas heaters to comfort clients as they 'enjoy' and turn their backs to a minor thing as bit of Canadian cold.
The food is always very good and the portions are equally fine. Wendels is a people place and if you come around meal times the restaurant can be full and you wait your turn if you choose to eat in.
The coffee is good, and less exspensive if you bring your own Canadian coffee tumblers,(not cups, not mugs). The choice of beverages is quite large with all the Lattes to suit your fancy.
The bookstore has a wonderful selection and somehow is a natural extension of this restaurant. Books and a good coffee, hot chocolate or cappuccino always add to your quality and cultural time.
The manager, Melinda is a fine hostess to the Enterprise and easily accessible to chat or to talkwith about what is going on in the world of books.
The waitresses are young and on the run at rush hour time. Some are lacking in their care for a sanitised place to eat. Our waitress did a messy and too quick of a job cleaning our table top. The crumbs were brushed onto my jacket which was placed on my chair and the rest were swipped onto the floor! I did ask another waitress to clean up the layer of crumbs stuck between the two small adjoining tables and to finish up with the cleaning I do question cleanliness of the table wash cloths.. The floor was not too clean either as used paper napkins, serviettes, were also part of the floor decor.
Inspite of the lack of care with cleaning and not well trained staff as to this regards the ambiance is great, a kind of renewed 60's esprit. There is a wide selection of clients, young and old; a good coctail mix. Children have appropriate chairs. I will go back as the coffee and food is a quality experience.

We ordered at the counter and paid for our food first. Upon sitting at the table we started looking around at our surroundings and OMG the place has so much built up dirt everywhere. I was afraid to touch the salt and pepper shakers they were so filthy. Our food arrived and surprisingly it wasn't too bad. I just cringe to think that the kitchen might be as dirty as the front of the cafe. I would not come back unless there was a visible effort to do a deep clean.

A current version of our menu is available on our website
Stopped by for brunch on a Sunday afternoon. I had the crab cake eggs Benedict and my friend had the black stone eggs Benedict. Our server was very friendly (Tavares?) and checked on us often and made sure our coffee was kept topped off. Brunch was great, very rich but tasty all the same. The potatoes on the side were also very well seasoned but quite heavy along with the crab cakes. Perhaps a salad option instead? I will definitely return.

Tried Big Feast yesterday and was very impressed! Wonderful soup and great sandwiches. Many people around were eating the eggs Benedict and it looked amazing! I'm ordering that next time! Will definitely go back. Quite small and very busy. They have several communal tables. They were also doing a busy Takeout trade and their frozen soups were flying out the door!

Run by Japanese folks, this restaurant is clean and simple. Food is similar to what I ate in small neighbourhood restaurants in Japan. Nothing fancy, but well-made tempura, sushi, udon, etc. My lunch special (chicken teriyaki, California roll, tempura and salad) was filling and less that $9. my partner enjoyed his bento box. We've been here several times and will go again. Unlike the bakery kitty-corner, Toyko Garden is friendly, welcoming and appreciative of your business.

Kanaka Creek is our favourite local haunt. The staff are super friendly and welcoming, the food and drinks are great (mmm... Butter Rum Nog at Christmas is the best!), and the atmosphere is so warm and cozy to sit and enjoy.

Friendly rustic pub in Fort Langly B.C. Big screen tv for watching games as well as other small screens too! Watched Grey Cup game; Pub had free raffle draws and half price appies and drinks during game. Reuben Sandwich was very good as well as poblano and crab baked dip with pita and baguette slices. Good atmosphere and clean bathrooms!
