In Fernie the food choices are more varied than one might expect for a small town in central BC. The Curry Bowl is an unusual option and a welcomed one. There is a full bar with beer wine and cocktails. The house wine choices are...MoreVery sorry your food was not flavourfull enough. Extra spice is an option that should have been offered. We offer a level 1,2,3 or more... We have had some problems with dry padthai. the problems have been addressed and fixed.

Welcome to the Bridge Bistro. We are an independent, locally owned restaurant, located on the highway and along the Elk River, with the most amazing views overlooking the beautiful Lizard Range. We are open 7 days a week, Monday - Friday, 11 am until 10 pm and Saturday and Sunday 9 am - 10 pm, serving breakfast, snacks, lunch, dinner, drinks and desserts. We just had major renovations done, and feel confident that you will appreciate the new atmosphere we have created. Our menu features the regular favorites, such as salads, pizzas, quesadillas and burgers, but we also take pride in preparing other daily specials, vegetarian meals and sharing platters. From 5 pm daily, you can have a taste of our in house prepared rotisserie chicken and ribs. We look forward serving you.
The Bridge Bistro is a really great place to dine. The location is new, clean, and modern, and the service is nothing short of spectacular: Extremely professional, attentive, friendly, and approachable. Kudos to the management.
The donair wrap was absolutely delicious although the portion was a bit on the meagre side. The fries are delectable, especially if you like yours big and soft... not much on the crispy side, but very tasty indeed. The burger is very strongly seasoned so if that's your taste you're going to find it superlative. The breading on the fried fish is definitely memorable and the fish is mild and very moist. The cole slaw was a bit wilted but that's easily overlooked.
It's a must stop in Fernie!

Stopped by just walking Main Street.
Had The Eldorado IPA and a sockeye salmon. To my surprise salmon came with red cabbage and roasted potatoes - it was very nice. Not a fence place but definitely worth the visit - either for dinner or just a beer.

A busy Saturday night at this popular restaurant. You can’t book; we arrived at 6pm & waited for 30mins for a table at the kitchen bench. It was worth the wait. The food was terrific. My husband doesn’t really like Japanese & even he was impressed. We all had a small saki to warm us up. Followed by light tempura calamari with tangy, creamy dipping sauce & succulent chicken karaage to share. My husband loved his tasty pork dumplings followed by light & delicious tempura prawns with tempura yam & broccoli & I enjoyed succulent terriyaki beef, vegetables & rice & our adult son enjoyed tasty terriyaki chicken. We tried to fit in delicious lobster sushi rolls but couldn’t. Service excellent. You won’t be disappointed!

The Loaf has been growing and evolving for seven years, from a start-up in a miner’s cottage to a firm favourite in Fernie’s Downtown core. Owners Phil & Claire Gadd have always designed The Loaf to be accessible and affordable, a neighbourhood restaurant where everyone is welcome and feels comfortable, no matter what the time of day. With excellent food, made from scratch on the premises daily. Now its time for some changes: updating the interior to make a more comfortable dining experience, extending the list of craft beers and offering more wines and liquor and creating an environment where the focus is on exceptional food, good company and the relaxed dining experience. “Our perfect wish for Fernie is a place with craft beers, a good solid wine list by the glass, pizzas, pasta, and some other nice mains, but nothing too fancy. And that’s exactly what we’re aiming to do at The Loaf.”
A local recommended this Restaurant; and wow the cooking was fantastic. They roll their own pasta & bread, some years ago they were a bakery. After a delicious bread platter with butter & pesto, I ordered the mushroom risotto with duck leg confit, while hubby had the tagliatelle with meatballs & tomato, pesto sauce. My risotto was creamy & delicious with smoky mushrooms, while the duck leg was crispy on the outside with the most succulent, melt in the mouth, tender duck meat just under that crispy skin. I confess, there was nothing left but the bones. All this accompanied by an Argentinian cab sav & a local Fernie Co Pilsner. We decided to have dessert; I had a tangy creme brûlée, crunchy sugar toffee top that cracked with a gentle tap of the spoon & a tangy lime flavour to the creme brûlée. Hubby had the chocolate nemesis; a chocolate brownie with chocolate mousse & there wasn’t a scrap left.
It was Monday night, where pasta is $10 & ale is $5.
Do yourself a favour & go now, before there is a queue out the door & up the street. ( Did I mention the service was friendly, knowledgeable & fantastic!)

Bean-to-Bar Chocolate Maker, Artisan Chocolatier, Italian Gelato Maker and Coffee Roaster.
So hot day in Fernie, we had been walking around their main drag downtown & wanted a break & to cool off--and so we looked for an ice cream place and saw the Bean Pod.
And it's not ice cream, but gelato--close enough for us.
So we went in & order gelato--great choice
We each had two flavours & it would have been hard to decide between them which one was better if we could only have had one flavour--& even then I suspect flavours we didn't try would have been just as good.Friendly staff who didn't rush even though they closed in about 20 minutes.
We had already bought chocolate at a couple of places so we skipped that this time.
But definitely we will stop by next time we are in Fernie.

We had breakfast most days at their pop up within the The Rusty Edge at the base of ski resort.
The bagels were amazing every time. The selection of flavours was close to 20, that’s before you get to the fillings. The big banger with bacon being our favourite.
The coffee was pretty good as well.
