Small Restaurant located in the center of the Echallens's village. Possibility to park in front of the restaurant or nearby. At first glance from the outside, it looks like a little bistro but the room is nicely decorated with leather seats.
The specialty of the hostel is " The Hangman " . It is a piece of horse or beef with cognac prepare at your table.

The fish was good for my friend , for against my side salad drenched in sauce and bread not so much of the day, too bad.
For the main dish I tasted the was scalopine veal and risotto. My filet mignon was cooked and fried "home" delicious.
For dessert the creme brulee was very good.
In conclusion, proper village pub for a share price, but a shame that the service is not more cheerful and friendly. The food is good but not necessarily worth the trip if you're not in the area.
Points to improve the service is not very rosy and quite slow, only one server for the whole room for approx.40 guests is not huge .... luckily we were not rushed.
Too bad the salad was drowned in sauce.
Also the bread was not fresh, bad points.
Recommended dishes : tournedos horse accompanied by " home fries ", " The Hangman "

In order to celebrate a family event, we decided to have a dinner at the Auberge du Talent. After a short drink and a small tasty surprise (a nice vegetable mousse), we enjoyed succulent and large pizzas.
They have also a large choice of ice creams for the dessert...

Unexpected good. From outside the place doesn't tell you anything. A small, discrete "auberge" in a small and quiet village. But once inside, you will discover a nice staff, very warm and an interesting and good menu. Try the gambas flambee or the wiener schnitzel, and you will not regret.

Simple and inexpensive restaurant that offers specialties of steak tartare seasoned with many ingredients. Booking essential especially on weekends

We have been there twice and we have not regretted one single moment.
The food is excellent, the service very friendly with prices which are acceptable for this level of quality. We have been surprised to see it mentioned with only 14 points by the guide GaultMillau

SWISS NURTURING, REFINEMENT AND HOSPITALITY AT ITS BEST!!
Daniela has a way about her, a manner that is so welcoming that is so warm and comforting that makes her guests want to spend the night. In fact there are two rooms upstairs which would probably be the best bed and breakfast rooms ever, because there is an inarguably special feel about this place...
We sat down, after being warmly greeted and Daniela brought us the most delicious warm homemade crisps, and a few bowls of olives.
The selle de chevreuil, or saddle of venison, roasted "au feu de bois" with special herbs undoubtedly from the garden was presented to us with such pride. Daniela wanted us to smell the fragrance of the venison which was intoxicating. Sliced and plated in the kitchen by her husband the Chef, who added the classic accompaniments such as cranberry stuffed pears, chestnuts, your routine sidekicks to the main event, the venison. But that was not it...a big bowl filled with homemade spaetzli, a combination of carrot, spinach and regular flower was strategically placed in the middle of the table...and there it was...it felt like HOME. Daniela brought another plate of venison for my godson, and joked about her giving up her portion so that he would have seconds. She had a way about her that just made us feel welcome and at ease. The way she joked and one point made the effort to speak English, (at first she did not realize that I was raised in Switzerland and that my first language was in fact French). The dessert followed, one that I actually regretted not ordering after getting a small taste from my husband: a tarte tatin made with the apples from their garden, the most fragrant caramelized apple tart served warm with a dollop of vanilla ice cream. Now this is not your every day apple tart...it is a to die for Tarte TATIN!!
Time for coffee, or rather espresso....I opted for a" the menthe", a homemade peppermint tea, also from the garden. As it was steeping, the mint tea permeated the entire dining room.
Quality, quality and more quality along with the charm of the "homelike " venue and the warmth and attention to detail and love for the restaurant industry expressed by the owners made this lunch one that I will cherish and place in my memory bank forever. If you happen to be anywhere near this area, take a trip to Assens, it is certainly worth the detour!!!

This is one of my favorite places to go with my kid. On the top floor there's a little stair leading to a garret filled with toys! Parents can have coffee or eat while the kids play!
The food is simple... salad, panini, crepes, that sort of thing. They have delicious fresh-squeezed orange juice. The salads are very good. The catch is they often sell out of stuff by afternoon, so I've gone there for tea only to learn they don't have any more cake or crepes left. Also, the service is crazy slow.

This is an amazing restaurant in the little village of Daillens. The staff is very friendly and professional. The restaurant is always full, but they never show any stress. They always take the time to ask if everything is ok. For Switzerland this profesionnalism needs to be highlighted !!
The food is great. The menu is not too big and all the dished are very well executed. The owner is knowledgable about wine and really help in making the best choice with the meal. The price is aligned with similar restaurants in the area. (Starter about 10-25 CHF, main course about 30-50 CHF)
The room is nice with low light and candles it is a great place for a romantic dinner or to go out with friends.

Very Italian food. Menu so Italian. Food is amazing, all "fait maison". Fresh pasta, Italian ham and specific products so well cooked. Easy to park the car around
